Yes the makeup artist is right in what she said about Nigeria wedding. I got married July 2018 in Nigeria & I had to change 3 times with my outfit. It was a very beautiful day of my life & colourful too.

miss trudy you looked awesome. In Igbo tradition, we come out at least twice.1st to greet inlaws/villagers. The 2nd outing is with wine looking for hubby. You will notice difference in these 2 Igbo Igba nkwu outings. The dressing you did for the 1st one is the 1st Igbo outing of the bride. In our 2nd outing we like to wear our traditional Igbo attire for the woman, u wear sometime matching with hubby.I wish i can show you my own hahhaha. It is blouse, 2 wrappers, headtie or gele, original coral beads, and the tail of the horse or cow not sure now

I've never been to a Nigerian wedding but one of my coworkers shared with me photos and videos of weddings she had been to and I was always in awe of the proceedings....dress, head gear and all the beautiful colors of everyone in attendance.

Trudy Let me help to explain the Igbo outfit you wore earlier. The Igbo also have 'gele' ( in the east and south south its called headtie) its worn with George wrappers and blouse.
The igbo outfit you wore is usually the first outfit the bride wears out, it's like a 'maidens outfit' , after she changes and comes out in the wrapper and scarf (more of the mature woman outfit ) or the outfit of the tribe . usually most have headties.
Since in East Africa you guys watch Nollywood best way to explain this in the 'wedding party' movie. The grooms mother is wearing an Igbo outfit with headtie and the brides mother is in the yoruba outfit with the gele. Hope it's clearer now 😘.
If you plan to do a wedding look from a minority tribe you must do the EFIK tribe , thier wedding look is one of the most regal no headties but a beautiful updo with combs in it and a flowing gown called oyoyon (hope I spelled it right) and a staff. Please do "how to look like an Efik Nigerian bride". The Efik/Ibibio people are from the south south part of Nigeria and have a beautiful culture. The bride is dressed like an Efik/Ibibio goddess, it's so so beautiful
