My father sacrificed 2 years of his life while he was in University in order to help build/rebuild the house for his family, while also cutting back expenses. My Uncle was also supposed to help in order to build the house back faster, while also working a few months before he starts university. My Uncle despite the decision of my grandfather that he would stop, pleaded to my grandmother to let him study and graduate university on time. My father still graduated but by that time there was already bad blood between them. My Uncle was living the University life, hanging with fraternities, getting a girlfriend, and getting an allowance, my father was back at their house shoveling, mixing cement, and laying bricks and foundation for the house. The work that should've been done in a few months with 2 people, took 2 years to finish for my father. And what did my Uncle do after my father's sacrifice, ignored him for decades, and came back a few years ago and tried to strongarm/scam my father and their siblings into selling him the very ancestral home my father built with his own hands, with his own blood sweat and tears.

Also, Gloria was a single mom, living in horrible conditions in Colombia (not all peopld live like that in colombia, but the ones who does, hits really hard) and her sister was single, alone and supported by her mom

This is what happens when parents don’t realise the edge the older one has over the younger one because of the age difference… sometimes when the gap is too big the older one doesn’t develop empathy or the ability to share… so it’s literally smarter and meaner older one vs naive younger one.. thankfully as they grow up, the age differences stop mattering..

Gloria took the job opportunity and actually did something with it, sonia just wanted money and did nothing.
Gloria didnt steal Jay from sonia, Jay sent over a piece of pie to their table, sonia went to the bathroom and gloria went to say thanks to jay for the pie but they got along so well they started chatting (initially it was meant for sonia, since jay only saw the back of her head tho), but if he had chosen sonia over gloria, they would have ended divorced since sonia only wants money, Gloria got married to jay because she actually loved him, while they were in the “getting to know each other” stage, its revealed Gloria had a lot of men after her, some younger and richer than jay, but gloria didnt want to become a trophy wife like she was with javier. And Jay was the only one that actually looked at gloria as something more than a Hot woman

@@glow2500 i would agree it was stealing but sonia didnt want the job because it didn’t pay a lot, so gloria took it, that letter had been sitting there until gloria “stole it” when she went to visit her mom, their mother later talked with them both, because sonia kept saying gloria took a life that was meant for her. i agree on the job, with jay it was just luck, cause sonia left to the bathroom so she wouldnt talk to him and gloria actually went and thanked him. Even so after she left, gloria kept sending money to her family so to help (it was for sonias college) and sonia spend it all on clothes. Had gloria never grab that letter it would have gone to the trash. Their mom never told them all this before because she didnt want them to fight because gloria actually found success with her hair salon

I really hated this plot line in this episode. Sibling rivalry is real and stops families from talking to one another. There will always be one child who feels robbed of opportunities and this episode just perpetuated this sentiment. And Claire's comments about travelling are so ignorant. As Western people, we don't realise the privilege we have of having a good passport. Not everyone can say that.
