    This is deffo that type of selling on eBay I want to do, I’ve been selling little items here and there and not making much profit, you’ve completely changed my mind and will do this instead it seems better with nice profits and feels like a real business

      It's the transition between this as a side hustle, versus a full on business. Good Luck!

    This is what some thrift store resellers need to but don't want to. I was getting into reselling clothes until I saw other resellers saying you need to have thousands of clothes in your Ebay store to make a profit (that seems crazy) As you said there's also no barriers to entry for that form of reselling either so it's becoming over saturated with people looking to make extra money.

      Yeah man it's sad and what made me not want to resell clothes is that it takes a long time to sell too.but then again what's stopping them from reselling? I'd like to sell high ticket items but I'd like to know some more examples of what a high ticket item is

    I disagree with you on a few points:
    1. You will always have competition wherever and however you source including FBM. There are just as many people trying to flip items from FBM as thrift stores, yard sales, estate sales, auctions, storage units and Amazon bins stores.
    2. You're assuming or suggesting that there are always and enough high ticket items on FBM to make $100 an hour. Yes, it might average to $100 an hour on the time you spent on that $500 flip - but how many of those opportunities do you get a day, a week, a month?
    3. I've proven time and time again that it is possible to source high dollar grails by thrifting, if you know what you're doing. Thrifting might be "easy", but finding high valued items is not. The problem with your example of the average person at the thrift store looking up everything on their phone is that they don't even bother with the things with real value. I went thrifting the week after Christmas and found 3 items in 3 days at 3 different stores that made me over $100 on each one. Just last week, I found one $100 plush at the Goodwill Outlet in a bin that had already been picked over by my competition. I can't tell you how many times this has happened - a $400 Don Post Halloween mask, a $600 skateboard, a $100 comedy CD, a $200 set of hardback books, etc. These were all items overlooked by my competition. Besides, aren't you doing the same thing on FBM? You're spending time looking for high profit items, doing the research and trying to secure those things before someone else does? Sounds just as easy to me, if not easier.

      Hey there, first off I appreciate the time and you make some really great points. You are right that it is essentially the same thing shopping at the thrift store and shopping on Facebook marketplace and Craigslist. Here's where they differ in my opinion:
      1. Just like you have developed an eye at the thrift store to find these grails, I have developed an eye to find great deals on Facebook Marketplace. You might have better margins but I would put money out there that there are more 100% to 200% margins on items over $300 on Facebook Marketplace than there are at thrift stores.
      2. Facebook and Craigslist flipping can be passive through the software that these apps have. You can set up alerts for when items you know sell well on eBay have been posted. This helps reduce the time sink that eBay flipping has. Sure, I'll sit on Facebook or craigslist for an hour or two a day to find a deal but once I find those deals I can create alerts for those target items to prevent me from having to actively source. It buys me some time back, which cannot be done at the thrift store.
      I really appreciate your perspective and would be happy to talk about your business, it seems like you really are doing well. Feel free to email me - theresellingconsultant@gmail.com

      In theory this is correct for high dollar items, and it does play out to work at times. The harder part is doing this on a consistent basis with very high dollar items, you can quote examples of what you found here and there and I agree with the principle. You should be living in a much nicer house and driving a much nicer vehicle if you are turning those numbers consistently, annually.

    • @TheResellingConsultant
      @TheResellingConsultant  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do this for a living, so I am able to find these profitable flips on a frequent enough basis to live and save. Living in a nice house and driving a Porsche at 22 doesn't make a lot of sense for me. I'm able to save about 70% of my income in order to invest to retire early. If you want to hear about my numbers, go ahead and book a coaching call with me. I'd be happy to go over them then.

      @@TheResellingConsultant I do it for a living as well, over a decade, there's a whole lot to reselling, not as cut and dry as it may seem. I do agree with investing your gains in order to retire early, that is a very good plan.

    I have 1500 clothes to sell. I'm so fed up with the space they take. I want to sell them to make some money and I don't want to continue sourcing more clothes, although I have lots of sources where I live. It's very time consuming for a small profit. I was excited and planned on doing it full time, but when I thought about it and realized how much time and effort goes into listing all these clothes, I changed my mind. I'm still going to list them, so I can sell whatever I can, but I'm not going to continue buying more clothes. You're lucky you live in the Us and can source big and expensive items that you can easily ship.

      @@TheResellingConsultant Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately shipping costs are a nightmare. Lots of people sell valuable stuff, that are garbage for them, but I can't re-sell them from here to a country outside Greece. Clothes are small and light, they are kind of easy. I can't sell stuff in Greece, because Greeks don't buy thrift stuff and used stuff, they have a liking in new, shiny and brands.

    i sell mostly clothes and some small hardware and i made 2.8k last month in profit, while being on vacation for a week, it was my best month yet
    ive been watching your videos and i wanna try sourcing your type of items too, the only issue i have is i dont have much space for storage. i got 4 small boxes (bins) where i put my stuff, clothes dont take much space thats why i source them
    where do you store your items? as i can see from your videos, youre selling your items quick so theres probably no need for a big storage space

      Hey Leon, if you want something to be that passive typically your margins would be the opposite. If someone else is going to do all the work for you and you're just gonna sit back and relax, they would be taking the 80%, but most likely 100%. You gotta put in the work!

    The way you it seems really risky. I’m torn I’ve seen vids of people doing clothes and the find 5 items a day and they build it up nice and slow before you know it they have a store with 1500-2000 items very little risk and it does take longer :( but I’ve seen vids on you where you spend 300-2k on a single flip. Obviously you make way more per tram but if something goes wrong it could ruin everything

    • @TheResellingConsultant
      @TheResellingConsultant  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment! Before spending all this money on one flip, a lot of research is being done. The bulk of my time is spent researching the quality of these flips. Making sure that they are high quality products that will sell fast. I do as much work as possible to negate that risk.
