My son who has, all of a sudden, shown much interest in the the Swedish lifestyle, told me that they have no sense of humour and a social skillset that suits him well, avoiding passersby. Well, I find it to be quite the contrary with you guys. Very humorous and entertaining!!
Wow. I really enjoyed this one. The boat performed flawlessly and you guys remained so cool!!! Great viewing, looking forward to catching up the rest of your videos. Cheers Rich.
Thank you for sharing your upwind experience in the OC55. The boat and crew handled this very well. The doghouse seems to be the key feature on this sail.
Congratulations on the longest passage, and thank you for taking the time to publish videos. I am particularly curious to see how high she can point in various wind conditions. Although I agree with your strategy under these circumstances, it doesn't make the best VMG to point high always. I think the flicker is the hz on the camera, though I am not sure. Furthermore, can I humble suggest you add a multimplexer to your NMEA backbone so that you have a laptop backup for navigation, have a look at one of our recent videos why. KR. Crew of Carry on.
Thank you. For the pointing we would guess that 42 apparent is good maybe down to 38 but then probably loose to much speed. But we have to try it more in different winds before we can say. We have been told that tacking is punishment so we try to avoid it 😃 For the computer we have one as back up with a separate GPS and Open CPN and all the worlds charts. Kind of like it that they are not connected. And then all other phones and iPads that you can navigate with. We are also trying to learn celestial but we are not there yet. 😀 We will have a look. Fair winds ⛵️
Yes, so far we had no problem just the 2 of us and we write we have managed to get all the way up to Svalbard/Spitsbergen. We think we could sail single handed, it would only be difficult with "take off and landing" :-)
Boreal is my definite dream boat. I'm wondering about the upwind angles. You are trucking along fine on 53 AWA, but can you push it past 40 AWA or, say, 45 true?
Nice sail guys, she looks super comfortable in those seas and wind. Was there any slamming of the hull in the waves? She seemed pretty gentle through the waves to me. I would be happy for that doghouse too, super safe and comfortable. Dartmouth is a great place. Andy UK
Thank you 😊 Not exactly sure what you mean, but we think you might mean the gurgling sound, that our rather large drains for the cockpit, sometimes make.
Great video. Out of interest do you think you would be able to sleep in the master cabin on passage in those conditions, or would you retreat to the aft cabin?
Thank you. Even though she rides smoothly, she is "heaving" so we would not sleep in the master cabin on passage. You will probably see our sea berth in the next video, crossing the channel again.
@@bushpoint Could I ask you about the origin and significance of the name Bushpoint? I live in South Africa where what we call most of our wildlife areas ‘the bush’ or ‘the bushveld’. If you ever make your way down to the southern tip of Africa I will take you to the bush where you can enjoy Africa’s amazing abundance of wildlife.
@@startafresh1113 It is very simple. Our home in Sweden is on a island. And our house is on a pojnt on this island that probably had a lot of bushes long time a go and is called Bushpoint in Swedish. Stunning boat, just came across your channel. Screen flicker is probably due to a too fast shutter speed, dry dropping to below 1/50 as this will be below the htz of the screen
About the flickering screen, it might the shutter speed of your camera. If it is then it’s too fast. Later when the screen was not flickering the light was lower and so your shutter speed slowed down. I guess your camera is automatic. If you can’t adjust it then you just have to live with it.
@@bushpoint one trick used to lower shutter speed in bright light is to use a neutral density filter. VidCams have them built in and they are easy to employ. SLRs and mirrorless cameras generally don’t have any and so you need to buy a set that screw onto the lens or use a mounting system. That is if you care that much.

Thank you :-) LoL, sorry to maybe disappoint your son, we think we have all kinds in Sweden 😜 But maybe some of them are over represented 😜
My girls and I love sharing in your sailing adventures!
Thank you!
Wonderful to hear, thank you for sharing 🥰
The doghouse is amazing and a good reason for choosing this sailboat for safe adventures in cold and warm environments. Thanks for a great video 😊
Thank you. We really love our doghouse.
You guys are sooo cute together !!! Nice to sit in my chair next to the fire in Idaho USA and see you two enjoying your new boat. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for yours kind words. 🙏
Glad we can share and that you enjoy. Hopefully there is more to come. 😀

Thank you! It was a fast sail 😎 Thanks again for watching.
Thanks folks. I enjoyed your video. I misspent a large part of my youth in those waters. SO, keep it up.
Thank you, more is coming, we have fun doing them :-)
Your boat is lovely. A real dream.
Sometimes we have to pinch ourselves 😀
Gee the boat is going really well. Congratulations.
Thanks! Yes, it was a very good sail!
Brilliant! Love the dog house.
Thanks, we are so happy for the doghouse
What an awesome boat. Love the new Boreals. So practical and seaworthy. Definitely moved to the top of my wish list. Fair winds.
It is a great boat and it grows on us everyday.
Congratulations from Brazil!!
Thank you Brazil!
Very nice boat!
Thank you ☺️
Awesome sailboat! These new Boreal are incredible. Congrats and tanks for sharing that beautiful experience!
We agree, they have done a good job, and thanks for watching.
Nice episode, nice sailing, nice boat
Thank you 🙏
Love the boat. Just would be great to watch inclinometer, wind instruments , but looks great comfortable cruising. Gracias!..
Thank you for watching and will try to show more of that in the future 😊
Great Job.
Thank you!

Yes, we do get on with our appreciation of the dog house 😄 The weakest link on this boat is the crew 😂
Nice crossing. The boat performed well. Action was even and not sloppy. May be the center of gravity helps. Enjoyed the vid.
Thanks! We are happy with the boat and being in the center helps :-)
That was some nice sailing thanks for sharing 👍👍
Thank you and you will have more on Friday 😀
impressive performance and stability !!! I wish you the best sailing life ever .... best regards from Brazil
Obrigado
We are trying to make the most of it.

In these conditions you can really see how much value a dockshouse has. Nothing beats comfort in tough conditions.
We can’t praise the doghouse enough 😀
Very nice boat!
What do you call the drink after docking? Ankarum?
Thank you! Ankardram, can translate into anchor snaps, or a dram of whisky, Cheers!
Thanks! "Anlegeschluck" in German.
Another great video from you guys, thank you, that is one very nice boat you have, keep up the good work, stay safe and well. 🤙🤙
Thank you for your kind words, and we will try to keep up the work.
Thank you for sharing your adventures
this boat can be driven for 2 people?
💯👍👍bye

Do they have radar or do boats travel around there with transponders so you can see them
Out there most boats have AIS, but closer to shore there might be fishing boats that don't have AIS.
Boreal is my definite dream boat. I'm wondering about the upwind angles. You are trucking along fine on 53 AWA, but can you push it past 40 AWA or, say, 45 true?
We are not the best sail trimmers but would say that we can do 38 AWA but would prefer 42 AWA. Cheers J&F

Thank you. It was almost no slamming, we were surprised how smooth she was. And yes we liked Dartmouth very much.
Boat looks great but can hear a water gurgling noise like water through a pipe that I’ve not heard before.

hi just wondering whe
n seated in the saloon is it easy to see ioutside or do you need to lift up a bit cheers
It's fairly easy to see outside, of course it's more easy for tall Fredrik than shorter (but not short) Jeanette, but we can both see outside easliy.
thanks@@bushpoint
So 😊, lovely to watch you enjoying your yacht so much. Wish you everything of the best.
