Clip wise: hot air balloon, head in the air cause he was on eurovision. The blue bird got shot down. You can see it as. He got alot of backlash using the blue bird on the first rehersal. Making him drop by the bookmakers ad an "unserious act/song" that's the first hit. His balloon then got shots down. From the sky because of being discalified. You then see him getting dragged away through the crowd. Since he got kicked out by eurosong. The jail. Well he still needs to get towards the case in juli. It's a metafor as. He's gonna face a trail, maybe not. After that i can't make much out of it. Stuntje saves him out of jail. Maybe stuntje has evidence for the case that makes him not guilty? Who knows. All we know. The clip is really directed towards eurosong/ebu.

So basically... the entire VIDEO is his way of getting err... 'revenge' on European Broadcasting Union (or... 'Onion Corp' in this video), who had disqualified him in Eurovision for... something stupid that wasn't worth of disqualifying. You can see the story in the video actually, but it is obviously made so it is now funny (because Joost is a natural goof ball). In the end he lets go of both his trauma and this disaster of an event that was called Eurovision 2024. You can see him flying with his friends again in an onion air balloon (Joost LOVES onions! Is very well known if you're a Joost Klein fan) and is with 2 people: they are his parents (who passed away when he was a pre-teenager). Those parent figures were also seen in the screen visuals for his performance on Eurovision with Europapa. And finally... the man speaking in English at the end of the video is sampled from "Overthinking It"'s TH-cam Channel, precisely on this video: th-cam.com/video/jeW40z6_L2Q/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUQam9vc3Qga2xlaW4gb2xseQ%3D%3D . Joost Klein himself commented on the video, appreciating Overthinking It's work (it is the pinned comment!).

The silhouettes are indeed his parents, he used the same image in his Eurovision semi final performance. It isn’t visible in the official version, but there is a video ‘Europapa - front view’, that shows the full view of all the light effects and the visuals behind him.
That video gives a much better impression of what it looked like from the Arena, and how varied the use of the smaller ‘cubes’ with the spotlights was, they used them in at least 4 completely different configurations during the song.

  • @evagoor

What I found so far apart from what others already wrote
The face on the ballon is Baikinman, a villain in the Japanese Anpanman movie (I am not sure what this means yet)
The blue bird (Appie Mussa) gets shot before getting to the ballon. there was a lot of questioning why Joost had taken the blue bird with him, before the first life shows. I think it refers to that.
Stuntkabouter (stuntje) Martijn van Eijzeren Is the Keyboard player but also the person who breaks him out of prison.
While he is in jail, people are watching him perform, which is literally what happened. They showed his semi final show to the jury and crowd while he was waiting in the lockerroom for hours.
The scene of Joost en Stuntje on a motercycle is a scent from the movie Fallen angel.
I think that sky line is from an old game, but I cannot remember which one. A lot of the shooting looks very much like Duke Nukem
We see Joost in lift and it reminds me of the the clip where he is trying to get into a lift and were a woman with a camera keeps following him and keeps asking him questions (Joost what have you done.) You see him trying to press all buttons to get the lift to close. It is really heartbreaking. I think this is his revenge.
The man on the floor before the get into the onion balloon is a fotographer. That is why his/her face is blurred.
In other news. Joost was on instagram this evening filming himself and friends from a real hot ballon in the sky.

I think it's absolutely clear that the EBU managed to turn a beautiful life dream into a uncontrollable nightmare within minutes ...
Even if someone hadn't understood anything until now, now they know!
And its clear Joost will use this to grow.
He said Eurovision was meant to be as a new beginning.
Sure no one ever thought of _that_ way to start a new beginning 😔 ...
But he's eager to do it anyway.
In his very own beautifully unique way.
There's *_so_* much to discover in this song and this video, we'll never get it all, never ever - just as it is in all of his art.
And it's not only his art.
It's every little thing he sais and does.
    He _really _*_is_* the onion,
with so many layers you'll never get through them all.
(Yes, you can find it exaggerated to want to interpret every silly little detail that might have been just a funny nonsense.
And it is good to always remember that we can also be wrong with our interpretations.
But on the other hand ... maybe we just take a closer look at people in general, all people have hidden layers, right?)
What you can find, if you pay attention to as many layers you can discover?
It depends so much on how long ago you discovered Joost and his art,
what you know about him and his life,
if you're familiar with Europe and the Netherlands,
if you're familiar with the culture, the language ...
It depends on how familiar you are with the ESC - and then especially _this_ year.
It depends on what we get to know about this year and when
and what is held back ...
It depends on how much you're familiar with the year and time in which he wants each of his songs to be set.
It depends *_so_* much on _your own age_ and _your own life experiences_ ...
So we will never be able to recognize 100% of what _he_ feels, as we can only perceive all of it from _our_ perspective.
That's why I think this intergenerational global exchange is so brilliant.
No trophy has ever been invented for what Joost has created here throughout Europe and globally,
it is _so_ unique and has whether borders nor limits.
He _really_ listened to his Dad !

We don't forget, We don't forvige, expect us! This has been a struggle going on for so long now, but swept under the carpets when possible by the elites that hold that power, while dividing us to remain power. Divide and conquer.

As Europapa reminded us, non of us live in a vaccuum. A song about the good it is Europe has not internal borders. Also there now with the shift towards radical right. And also about having temporary border checkpoints in Europe again. Euro 2024: Duitsland start tijdelijke grenscontroles.... This was news this moring. Germany is planning to introduce temporary border controls during Euro 2024. These measures are being put in place to prevent “potential violent offenders” from entering the country. The Federal Police has suggested implementing these controls two weeks before the start of the event and lifting them a week after its conclusion. The focus will be on ensuring safety and security during this major international football championship.
We all know the ally-ship Germany has towards Israel!

    0:10 Neither of them 😉
In your other video yesterday you had a pretty good pronunciation of "luchtballon", right at the beginning of the video.
(It would be Nr. 2.2, *but* the "u" sound is somehow like an English "e" with lips way more closed ... kinda ... )

Oookay ... Let's see if there's anyone who can help me out.
I still have a lot of questions ...
Partly because I've always had a hard time recognizing anything in the graphics of these old games (I have pretty weird eyes), so I've never played or watched them for any length of time. That means unfortunately I've hardly any idea about gaming.
And still can't recognize these graphics like they're supposed to be 😅
    So ...
I'm still not sure if the blurred faces are carrying cameras or weapons.
And whether it's more than one person or always the same guy.
Then I wonder how and where Stuntje always disappears to while Joost gets into trouble.
When the ballon crashes, all you see is him disappearing into a shooting star and when he got shot he just vanishes into thin air?
Both times just to reappear later completely unscathed?
And then: What's that thing Stuntje is carrying, it's spinning when he's in the elevator ... ?
Then I'm totally confused about the blurred face guy at the end, the guy with the onion hot air ballon:
Isn't that jacket he's wearing just the *_same jacket_* that *_Joost himself_* is wearing in the Europapa video ?! (e.g. at the very beginning or on the car roof) ???!!
    *What?!*
    *Whyyy ?!*
    😮

Nemo also had Matrix theme in his winning song the code.... It is full off EVS references.... but not just that, it's very 1990's - 2000's, including resurging of hakken and happy hardcore (nostalgia)

Very funny/sinister how we are trying to interpreted the message [like an union], while he's singing "leave me alone, give me time" with images where he [and bird/friend] is shot at, dragged through the mud, haunted, humiliated and put in jail.
Hope he can leave his childhood (past chapter), eurovision (current chapter) into a flourishing happy one. [but if the numbers are indication, it sure looks bright]

My brain just farted; maybe 1999 has to do with the Matrix movie..... 1999 was quite an eventfull year aswell... very doomsday -ish. The last year of the 20th century... the switch to the € in Europe...
Also just as a side note we had the European elections yesterday..... PVV had a huge increase (from 1 -> 7 seats), GL/PvdA has most with 8 seats, in a way it mimics the radical-right switch/movement in the Netherlands but also sweeping across other European countries.
In a way I personally find quite alarming. But logical this was coming (Homo Deus, already mentioned these thing would very likely happen. Not a fan of the book, but it speaks truths.)

I don’t associate 1999 with the € at all. While there was a period where you could use both currencies, in practice, everyone kept using their national currency till the end. So 2002 is the year that comes up when I think of €.

@@oscarfernald9402 Never the less it was 1999. I was 19 at that time and I remember it. True it was when it was introduced, and the old currency was still also vallid to use untill the end of 2001. I'm from the Netherlands, small country, transition to € was quite fast. (and came with its own twists and lies)
Europapa also refers to Maasticht, in regards to European Union, Maastricht treaty 1992.
Benelux (Union) in a way was a blue print for the European Union.

      @oscarfernald9402 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I was 29 in 1999, and also Dutch.
The new currency was indeed officially introduced in that year, but in practice was mostly used for electronic banking by companies and accountants.
Consumers waited till 1 januari 2002, that was the moment when it really became a thing.
So no, I don’t associate 1999 with the Euro at all, because at that point it was simply invisible to me; apart from the double price tags in the shops, that I, like most other people, completely ignored 😅

The text on the wall in prison says "don't eat the union" The paintings on the wall are union's.
As a child, he secretly ate the onion that his parents placed next to his bed when he had a cold. That made them angry.
He did that even though he knew he wasn't supposed too.
For me the ending is that he forgives the photographer(can be the woman or the one that made foto's off him incognito without his consent) He puts his arms in the air ( I am innocent) and he/she apologized and gives him the union balloon. It's all about forgiveness. The union balloon goes to his parents, he wants there forgiveness too. There are a lot of movies or songs with "Blackbird" and most are about getting freedom back.
