well this is the clearest, most straight forward tutorial i've found so far. waistbands have been the bane of my life so far - i would rather fit pants than sew waistbands on them LOL hopefully this will make it a lot easier. thanks!

Hi - I would insert the zip first, positioning the top of the zip stop 15mm away (or your chosen seam allowance) from the top / raw edge of the fabric. Thanks.yesterday followed your method and it came well.Next time please mark on fabric R for Right and W for wrong side of fabric to make it easy.I had a rewind a few time.Can you please do another video as waist band masterclass for fitting waistband in different methods .super.
I wonder if top stitching can be used instead of slip stitching? I guess top stitching will be seen? Also sew on interfacing instead of fusible, would that be not too much trouble to do? I want to avoid any glue in my garments. Really nice tutorial, and super nice close in camera angle.
David Marks you can use machine stitching instead of of hand stitching. Try stitching in the ditch from the right side to catch the folded edge of the waistband on the inside. This method is often described in commercial patterns but I don’t find the results to be that successful unless I first hand tack the folded fabric on the inside. Otherwise the machine stitching wobbles on and off the folded edge on the inside. You can also substitute sew in interfacing instead I’m of fusible. 😊
