Physics on Khan Academy: Physics is the study of the basic principles that govern the physical world around us. We'll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we'll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts in lots of different physical situations. To get the most out of physics, you'll need a solid understanding of algebra and a basic understanding of trigonometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

this video has cleared my all confusion about wave interference. thanks a lot......................
can you like teach my teacher how to teach
There can not be a video better than this on interference 😊
What an explanation! Thank you very very much! :)
Deserves a thumbs up !
Waves of destructive interference looks so beautiful!
This channel was very helpful for me to understand my physics lessons during this quarantine season😊. The methods used in explanations are verycreative . That resolved all my confusions. Thank you Khan academy.
Brilliantly explained!! Thanks a lot for uploading it.
I have watched million videos to understand interference but this one has cleared my mind
i love this academy
Really depressed about this chapter and at last after watching so many videos, came here without hope.. This is really boosts up!! Thank you!!
Bless youu❤️
I am not a science student, just watching out of interest and I have to say - thank you for the amazing explanation !
you made it so easier :O thank you!
Thank you so much, such a good teacher !!
This is amazing. Thank you
Thanks, tomorrow is my EOY (End of Year) exam , if I get a good mark, its all thanks to you.
That helped a lot. It really cleared up my confusion on the topic.
Can i get the name of the Teacher ?? He’s way too good please i’d like to follow them
these are so good I binged more than what was required for my course 😭
This is still gold! I was a bit confused before, now I understand.
Awesome Man. Cleared all my perception
Wonderful explanation! It really helps me a lot!!
Pulse Jet Engines make massive Sound Waves.Could you get the noise down perhaps with two Jets side by side made somehow to run Constructive interference.
destrructive*
Wow, thank you so much!
Thank you very much!the video was very much helpful..:)
U make things more easy Thanks 😊👍👍
I'm from Kenya and I found this very helpful
that's when u talk abut great videos
Please also watch this video to be aware of a common mistake:

Thank you so much!!It really helps!
Thank you :)
As waves transfer Energy, the energy received from a neighboring particle gives momentum to the medium's particle to move. But, what would make a particle move upward in a transverse wave or either downward? i.e. what is the physical determent of direction?
Great video!
Also what if the wavelengths of the two waves were difference, would it be possible to get constructive or destructive interference?
In general, you would get both, depending on how the waves add together.
Stephen Adams - Musicians use this phenomena for artistic effects, search up "phaser".
Good job,verry helpfull
This was very clear and a great help. Thanks!
This video was so helpful. ...
Thank u
Best explanation
Made so easy. Thank you
it's really very good video...got thoroughly..
What will be the resultant frequency of two wave when they are 90 deg out of phase?
A very helpful and nice video. Thank you very much.
Amazing, thank you so much!!
Awesome video and really good explanation.
What it is only 50 degrees(any angle other than 0,180 and 360 degress) out of phase? would it be constructive or destructive interference?
it will be somewhere between them, depending on how close it is to being in phase or out of phase
Partially distructive
He is really the best
Thanks for such a great explanation
I'd never think wave optics is easy af. Thanks a lot.
thank u so much. you are awesome!
fine video,thanks for the upload.
how will be affected those two waves if one is shifted about 90 or 270 degrees? I think they are not affected at all, right?
THANK U VERY MUCH
Would destructive interference still produce something like a push in the direction where the waves are going to?
NextGenAge yes comparable to dc
WOW JUST WOW
Can someone please help me? Why does anti reflection coating of lenses have to be a quarter of the wavelength of light, if both of the reflected waves (from the first surface and the second surface) will undergo 180 degree phase change? Won't they interfere constructively in any way, despite the thickness of the coating, since the reflected rays will be exactly the same as the incident wave, except they BOTH will be 'flipped upside down', having the same phase (no phase change between the two reflected waves)? Both of the reflected waves should undergo 180 degree phase change and therefore, interfere constructively.
To cancel loud noise, we must provide louder noise out of phase so that it makes no noise. We must think deep buddy.
Thank you !!!!!!
thank you
thanks for this video
Thanks
If you need to cram listen to this 1.5x speed it’s still very clear
thank you !!!
Thank you sir,,,,,,,
im impressed
What do u mean by out of phase
it means the waves are shifted at a phase 180 degrees , so the amplitudes of both waves will cancel one another at any time.
why is it that at 8:47 the wavelength is equal to one pie? Shouldn't a whole wavelength be equal to 2 pie???
neat!!!
Wow I ❤ it
If you disrupt someone playing a video game, that is destructive interference if he or she doesn’t like it, but is constructive interference if it is to make him or her spend more time on study.
Nice work
but these waves are not passing through de same point so how r they gonna interfere
Sara khan correct
Wow!!
what if delta x was equal to 1.25 lambda? there will be construction or destruction?
neither
Apparently artillery battery causes sound shadows.
I staight up just flip my speaker to be upside do to get noise cancelling that didn't work. LUL
Is this the organic chemistry tutor?
i cant wait to pass at ukzn pmb campus
This is common sense, next time discuss the effect of ci along the x axis, y axis amplitude double is too obvious when frequency is the same.
I thought that a sound wave was a longitude wave, in the video it is a transfer wave.
Andres Mariscal that's a displacement Vs time graph of a sound wave. It just shows how the displacement changes with time. Sound is still longitudinal but the diagram you are accustomed to is the actual position of the particles itself which would show the compressions and rarefactions

We would not hear😱
you saved my life.
💓💓🇧🇩
Explaination is bad if u are teaching u explain all about behind it
I like biology, chemistry, even CARS. I just hate physics
Thank You. It was very helpful.
WOW JUST WOW
Best explanation
thank u
