Nothe film degreaded bruce in many ways, particually the fight that was on the big boss set. That never happend like it did in the film, it was a back street muay thai fighter who bruce beat within minutes and it mesmerised him beacause hed never been beat till he challend bruce, ya all need to read his life story by robert lee, then youll understand how much bull shit they put in the films where bruce didnt play his self.
Jason’s acting ability was the selling point, the physique was secondary. Plenty of buff guys out there. His pathos and thespian prowess was superb in every scene. It still stuns to this day, the way he captures the screen.
Linda Lee Bruce Lee”s wife liked him from the start when they were casting for the lead role. Jason Scott Lee studied Bruce Lee Films, and watched video footage
I remember finding out that Jason Scott Lee was gonna play Bruce Lee. I was pissed, "he looks nothing like him!", I raged, but man he made me believe. He poured his heart and soul into every aspect of this role, caputuring the essence of Bruce Lee and putting it on full display for us viewers.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE. Actor I believe is Jason Scott Lee and the more i watched this movie the more i forgot he was Jason and he became Bruce. It was so weird at first to see this man acting out Bruce Mannerisms. so well. Its to me the best Bruce Lee rendition.

I don’t doubt about the quality and fighting skills of Jason Lee, but I do about the director and the fight instructor. This looked like comedy capers.
Well bruce never put much comedy in his movies. Some but not a ton. However some of the fight scenes in his movies have some pretty comedic moments here and there whether intentional or not. Like the scene where Bruce grabs two karate guys by there gi and it cuts to him spinning two dummies in 3 complete circles with their feet off the ground and then he launches them across the dojo by letting go of them, lol i think the director was making a nod toward those moments in his films. Also jackie chan slap stick kung fu movies were starting gain popularity at that time. This movie came out in 93 and Rumble in the Bronx came out in 95 in u.s theaters. So having a little kung fu slap stick was probably in the marketing plan for this movie.
Sorry about your dad, that was the Koreans. I’m an American. That line I still remember seeing in like grade 5 teacher had us watch the movie for some reason but I wanted to be badass like that after lol 😂
Why is it that always in movies when the main character is essentially defeated, he gets time to regroup? In the last fight, Lee is done after that kick to his back.
I love this cinema. There is no way any actual fighter would behave like this. The yelling, youre gassing your breathing. The dancing around for no reason. Its entertaining. Just not how fights go. I think Chael said it best when he said Bruce was the greatest fighting philosopher just not a real fighter.
Dragon lee is mimicking its not his real style. Anyway i liked the dragon by jason on bruce lee story. Jason is so big for being a Bruce and cant be so slim either ! Is he still hawai? Kawayine .. aloha:)
Jason Scott plays a great part for Bruce Lee style and the other guy from no retreat no surrender. Michael White thinks he could be at Bruce Lee and he couldn't touch Bruce Lee the master .
The movie was terrible, Jason Scott Lee was the perfect person to play him but the script was so bad if you're going to do a biopic at least try and keep it faithful to what happened. The writers did Bruce Lee dirty
Bruce Lee has been the idealized character that has been sold the most as legitimate although there is not a single evidence that he has fought in real life.
In my opinion he should have won an academy award for this portrayal ! We has amazing and prob the best Bruce Lee movie out there.
true
@@raul-marvel Definitely better than that racist farce Tarantino put on screen. Utterly disgusting.
@@mikerochon2508 except that's not bruce
@@tlouishail4141 Good Observation Sherlock !!
@@tlouishail4141 do u know what portrayal means? honestly crazy that you trying to correct someone's comment 💀
Jason Scott Lee really did a great job bringing Bruce's whipwire intensity here, despite being a bigger guy.
Agreed. Every time I watch it, his physique and portrayal was really terrific. Definitely needed more recognition
I think he was even better than Bruce Li the one who was suspose to be the next Bruce Lee in the mid to late 70s.
Nothe film degreaded bruce in many ways, particually the fight that was on the big boss set. Same with birth of the dragon, wong jack mon got beat by bruce within minutes yet agen and won by a rear naked choke.
Theres next to none jeet kune doa choreography aswell
What a legend this man is he'll always be remembered and never forgotten.
For me one of the best bruce lee movies
It was so made up
@@tlouishail4141 Movies are not documentaries. This is a highly entertaining movie, no more, no less.
His ice factory fight scene was the best of the whole movie.

Somehow both respectful and cold AF!
That was so good, he looked and sounded great. A great honor to Bruce.

He is the best Bruce Lee that I have ever seen in any movie hands down the best Bruce Lee😊

Wait. Isn't that guy as the actor of Mowgli from Jungle Book 1994 movie?
@@johnsantos507 Yes, and also the villain in Mulan 2020 Live Action.
Mr Scott did an amazing job in acting performance and skills a second Bruce Lee. He should be in martial art's movies everywhere

insane fight scenes performed by an actor of an actor.

Awesome movie
I love this movie ❤
This Bruce Lee is good
Anyone can beat someone who yells before every punch, or pulls back and swings wide. JEESH!
...the gift and the curse of being the dragon...
That four punch combo had insane speed
You left out the best fight scene - where he fights Johnny Sun's brother in the ice factory.
0:26 - didn't they both see where Bruce's face is? 😂

Apparently he was selected because he had the same surname but actually didn't know any martial arts at the time
Why is it that always in movies when the main character is essentially defeated, he gets time to regroup?
In the last fight, Lee is done after that kick to his back.
great film in my opinion, although the nunchakus in the sailor scene might be something a lady would keep in her handbag😂.
It looked more like a chain pull from a toilet with the ceramic handle still attached 😂
what is that chain weapons name bruce use in first fight
Semmi köze Bruce Lee-hoz. Amatőr Maugul.
In the first fight guile forgot how to sonic boom
I used to reenact these scenes with my kids 15 years ago.🥹
Gone in 60 seconds.

This Bruce Lee was over rated as a fighter. I'll rate him as a comedian
This movie is way better than birth of the dragon that movie sucked .
Too unrealistic of a scene for me. Almost as bad as crouching tiger hidden dragon.
per me bruce è stato grande e quello che mi ha ispirato alle arti marziali
Somersaulting and other horsecrap. And going with the 1970s sugar bowl haircut was a misstep.
is it known that the whole film is crap and has little to do with reality?
