Yes, do a "Will it Run," video! I've been compiling a list of things to do before trying to start a bug that hasn't run for 40 years or so. I'd love to see a video with all that covered. I've been patching together the list and I think I have it down right but it would be nice to see what you would do.

Very much worth saving from what I saw. The fact that it’s not crusty around those doggone vents behind the rear side windows makes it better.
Oh and to all the folks who don’t like the 1970s cars like this; they’re all worth saving! They ain’t making any more of them!

I love salvage yard stuff! There’s a guy near me in Young Harris GA with 15-18 beetles he is selling for parts. 500 without an engine, 1500 with. No titles, parts only.
Yes, will it run and body off (replace floor pans) would be awesome! Does look decent. (Hope it works out)

Actually this is a great find. It would be a great project and might be able to avoid painting maybe just a touch up or two

I had a sunroof car missing parts and they are not easy to find, at least at a reasonable price. I eventually found a guy who cut off the roof to make a roadster that had a sunroof and the parts. But it stalled out my project for about a year.
Man I really hope y’all can get it… I cannot understand why anyone does not like the salvage yard videos. They’re always so much fun…p.s. But will it run 😳🤣

Dude, the lady wants you to buy a VW. Don't argue with her. Oddly, my wife aquired three out of my last four cars for me. One was 50% under market, two were free including my 1990 kombi. She is just way better at talking people out of their vehicles than me. 😆

The original color was Bahama Blue with that whitish interior. It was a sunroof with a/c? Wow someone paid for that car in ‘77.
Enjoyed watching the 2 of you till the ending. Kind of reminds me of when we bought our 71 convertible in 95. It’s now starting a remodel. Hopefully it works out.

I just picked up a 1977 last month.
That Looks OK I don"t mind The 70's Beetles , I Just welded up them Moon Vents In bess , Never liked them , Mainly Water intrusion and the look of them , It Should get enough cooling (airflow)
Still has the sticker with original paint name/number code, behind the spare tire.😎

If the heater channels below the silver door sills are solid, it should be a easy restoration project for you. Who ever ends up with it. Needs to put a car cover on it asap. Will it run video,would be fun to watch. To bad it doesn't have the original FI engine.
I’m still waiting on an answer. The guy before me is still debating. I just wished everybody would decide what they want to do. I did tell the owner, I’ll give them one more week if not then I’ll keep on the 68 of course regardless, and then look for the next project.

He really hasn’t told anyone about it, and not many people go to that location. I really want to grab it but I realized I have to be careful in my Township with cars in my driveway. Not inspected.
@@SladesVWBeetle 77 looks like it going to need less body work, than the Ghia to get back on the road. I would sell the Ghia or find a place to hide for a while. Just my opinion. I wished I could find 77 sunroof bug in my area in that condition for cheap $$. Sellers in my area are asking 5K or more for cars in that condition with no sunroofs.

that body is better looking than my 73. well... its a running rust bucket
Late 70’s (73 and up) can be very rusty. That beetle has a story. I think someone decided to paint it before they saw the floors. I don’t understand why they didn’t put the windows back in at least to keep the rain out. It would be an easy fix to resell.

To find out if its been in an accident and repaired using filler as HH said.
Thank you for being here, using a magnet will tell you if there is metal, or Bondo in that area. Basically body putty.

Finding an engine would not be an issue. That’s honestly a good price at least in my area from the way you described it my friend.

Honestly it needs a lot of work. But I still really want that car too. The 68 will be done right at the beginning of spring. As long as I can get body panels, I think the Ghia would be a lot of fun for the next one
