In my personal opinion, this unit isn't the way to go. Like several others on the F30 forum, I had purchased it, installed it and noticed a very significant drop in audio (irrespective of the media and the type of connection (aux and Bluetooth). I tested several cables and Bluetooth adapters to make certain that the car wasn't an issue. Even replaced the amplifier and added new speakers but the issue remained. Guess what! As soon as I u installed this and went back to my old display head unit, the audio was perfectly clear!! I rather have my music than deal with all the distortion that this unit causes. I don't speak for anyone else and know first hand that this is the issue. Lots more took the plunge and are regretting their purchase.
Reinserting the amplifier (min 15:40 approx) is actually very tricky, given all the new elements such as the new big plastic connectors which make it too bulky to simply fit back where it came from. Unfortunately the video cuts out that point, so we don't get to see what was done to squeeze it back in. So far I cannot do that myself. Any chance we can get some more tips as to how to deal with this stage please? Thanks :)
@@jasonb4018 i don't recall exactly but I seem to remember moving the cables at the back into different arrangements until it the amp did slot itself in. Maybe there was another video out there on YT that covers that exact part - sorry I got early Alzheimer's :D
you say you may need to use the Audio out @19:50 of your video. Not sure why "may"? what determines if you need it or don't need it? I have navigation and rear camera from factory. thanks.
how well are the original iDrive functions retained? like if I loose pressure on a tyre, coolant is low... windshield washer fluid low, etc other things like oil level check, brake pads wear and scheduled services and inspection. also the notifications for faults like traction control fail, ABS fail..
The wire from unit to center speaker for navigation sound and speak is this your own special wire? I have tested many and they do not have this wire. They only have aux and if you play music from car the navigation from unit can’t speak or sound because it uses aux

Question - adding TV receiver. Performed install but cannot figure out how to hook up the TV Receiver I purchased in the package. Customer service says to combine yellow and red power wires I am not sure where. I used the harness with RCA attachments but do not see where I would plug those in. There is a Yellow (video) female RCA in the dash meant for the optional front dashcam. Do I use that? -- Also need to test usb cables that are coming out from the glove box. they have power but did not read an 8gb memory card. Will try a 64gb with mp4 files on it. Any help appreciated.
I have the XTRONS 10.25 Inch IPS Touch and the center control knob/buttons just stopped working after the aftermarket camera was installed. It works with OEM menu and some of the Android function menus but it's inconsistent. How can this be fixed?

My E70 has pretty much all possible electronics in it. Including a 6 DVD box in the glove compartment, 360° view package, etc. Not sure how that changes the installation

Pls remember to keep the original head unit. I have mine change n when my CAS spoil, after replacing the CAS. I can't have the comfort access feature of keyless lock n unlock. I brought it back to the dealer. They require the original head unit to be install in order to reload the software. I have no choice but to purchase a new head unit for this problem.

I got the same unit but different supplier and after connecting all the wires (including the aux) there is no sound from the speakers (my car is 2012 x5, CIC, w/o GPS, 6.5" screen). What did I miss ?
Update: upon the supplier instruction to perform "learn" procedure on the CD's selection buttons (with the AUX cable connected), the unit worked and the sound is as good as the oem unit 👍👍 and I have no clue why did that work 🤷♂️
I took mine in for recall on passenger airbag, now i get no Bluetooth sound, out of android side. BMW is at a loss. Can you advise? Sound works on BMW radio side, and Bluetooth connects, plug is in aux port in center console. Help please??????

best wiring video period. wish i saw this before my install would have saved me hrs of searching trials and errors. One question though. if my systems sound was coming through the radio without the 2.5 wire before putting everything back together then it doesn't after all back together, could have that been something in the settings that I might have accidentally hit or just one of the wires being not properly connected when pushing everything back. How do you know where what's the difference between the ones that don't need the 2.5 mm and the ones that do. now one thing to that is odd the Google navigation from the Android system comes through the factory and sound system but nothing else from the Android system does without the e 2.5. I would appreciate your help thank you
Please HELP! I installed my CCC version and everything but original menu, radio, cd, bordcomputer, backup camera nothing is not showing! Only Android side showing fine. Audio works fine from Android and CD and Radio.
Installed this same unit into my E71 X6 and since the install, the head unit won't turn off no matter what. It just stays on with the ignition or the keys in or out. I can't seem to get this issue sorted.

Yes - original car menu is still accessible via the button press on idrive controller.

Yes the sound quality is compromised
this sometimes depends, on the system, the aux cable you are using. Do bear in mind that aux in the old X5 was not the best at the time.

dappa311 I fixed my issue. There is a small black box connected to the t harness labeled fuse box. Open the box to make sure it’s connected.

Please HELP! I installed my CCC version and everything but original menu, radio, cd, bordcomputer, backup camera nothing is not showing! Only Android side showing fine. Audio works fine from Android and CD and Radio.

Yep, you just need to know if your car is ccc or cic (mines an 09 and its a ccc)
Installed this same unit into my E71 X6 and since the install, the head unit won't turn off no matter what. It just stays on with the ignition or the keys in or out. I can't seem to get this issue sorted.
