The reason why the video is shorter is because I literally could not find anything else to find wrong. Rockstar genuinely did a fantastic job on this airport!
The runways are at least 2 times shorter than they actually should be. Normally I'd let it slide because practical size reasons, but the runways can just extend into the sea for this... 0.5 sin.
I feel like when it came to making the airport in gta 4 they literally did it off a vibes based look vs gta v gradeschool quality research project on how to make an airport. Hence stuff like R1 R2 R3 R4 being the runway numbers, the taxiway and runway markings making no sence, taxiway numbers being random etc.
Just recently I noticed how unnatural the planes turn in the sky but I also noticed that they sometimes don't have their landing gear out, when you're a certain distance away.
3:55 spoiler for gta iv but im pretty sure the reason those blast shields are there is to prevent a bug from if you spare darko, before the shields were placed he could be ranover by planes (as he ran randomly until the player was far away enough then despawned) and the game thinks you killed him (so on the drive back roman will have the dialogue if you killed darko)
4:01 that NPC could be Airport Operations. Typically they're in marked vehicles with an aviation radio. They do get out of vehicles for various reasons. No way they'd be in the runway safety area without tower approval or closing the runway
2:05 Except that the Comet had round windows. The Top left stress propagation diagram even shows it! The problem was the rivets around the window that created micro cracks that would eventually propragate due to fatigue and cyclical loading. Source: the diagram itself shows it, the dots are the rivet points.
When was it ever supposed to be based on LaGuardia? I always figured it’s based on JFK. It’s even in the same spot relatively to where JFK is in real life, in the south east of Queens/Dukes.
@@SpidaMez I very much disagree with you. Of course the layout won’t be the exact same because ultimately this is a game that revolves around cars, not planes. Even in GTA 5, the airport that is very clearly supposed to be based on LAX is in the wrong relative spot in the city and doesn’t have the exact same layout or size, but nobody ever disagrees that it’s based on LAX. Why would they use the JFK terminals for a supposedly LaGuardia based airport? But even so, the layout is much more reminiscent of JFK than LaGuardia, even if not the exact same. The sort of triangle shape that the runways form at LaGuardia point northward, while the angles formed at JFK point eastward, just like in the game, and southward. And remember, like I said, they aren’t going to copy every single runway. It looks like they only bothered to do the two runways that form an eastward triangle. The terminals are in the same location too. The terminals in LaGuardia are to the south side of the runways, while at JFK it’s (generally speaking) to the west of the runways, again, just like in the game.
@@gabrielmartines3510 I see no indication that it’s mixed at all. It looks 100% like it’s based on JFK to me. But I’m open to being proven otherwise aside from the points that I’ve already disproven.
The terminal’s design isn’t a sin. The airport is supposed to be based on both LaGuardia and JFK, not just the former, because the map isn’t big enough for two. GTA V does the same thing with LSIA, being based on both LAX and Long Beach airport, at least according to Slink Johnson.
If i were one of the developers, i would get so tired of making the game and making it work that i wouldn't even try to design the airport well. Super interesting video ty dude!!
Sin 236: despite taking place in 2008 none of the 747s are 747-400 models. In all seriousness though I would love to see a more realistic airport in VI.
This is a good video and here’s one you might look at the navy aircraft carrier there’s 100 percent problems they might find interesting there’s no fleet protecting it and no navy personnel and Marines as well because they do operational together so that will be a good thing to look at
I don’t know if you’ll ever make a video on these but the airport on Saints Row was very interesting and I don’t mean the Saints that was released a few years back I mean saints Row four from 2013.
The reason why the video is shorter is because I literally could not find anything else to find wrong. Rockstar genuinely did a fantastic job on this airport!
I think someone can mod this even further and remove at least half of the sins lol

It's supposed to say Aiport.

The belt loader at 1:45 is designed to be towed by other GSE and is a fairly common design. It is depicted accurately here.
Ah i see
I remember more glowing colorful blocks in this airport... perhaps I've played too much multiplayer.
might be all the body amour spawns I disabled
1:45 " How the f*** you drive this without a cab?"
Gee, I don't know, you probably use that giant tow bar to tow it.
The real sin here is using the GTA 5 background music on a GTA 4 video.
gta 4 music was good but didn't fit the style of video imo

See the reason why the airport makes no sense is because rockstar didn't want Jack Thompson to call GTA IV a 9/11 simulator
True it was also a game that people were concerned cuz players would fly a plane into towers
Also there are 2 buildings with the exact same height in Algonquin, one next to each other.
Doesn't make much sense, specially after they debunked him in Bully.

You should do the airports in the just cause games

The runway has a similar configuration to LGA rather than JFK.
The general airport layout and location very much implies that it is LaGuardia. JFK is simply too big for GTA IV's smallish map
