  • This video reviews the JUNCTEK JDS8080 Signal Generator. The device is a function generator, also known as a waveform generator and it is a very affordable on a budget. For the price this waveform generator had a lot of features and was pretty good in our opinion.
Note: This device was sent to us for free, but the review itself is not paid for or sponsored. We weren't sent any affiliate links or official store links, but this device seems to be sold on Ebay.
For a budget function generator, I ended up liking this device a lot with my primary complaint being the narrow viewing angles for the screen.

@@HTMWorkshop Yes you are correct about the MOD feature having to do with radio and radio communication , many moons ago my old HP did the frequency to the D.U.T. with a 1KHz tone at 30% modulation with a 1mV output level for the audio output ..... Then the same setup for the receive sensitivity except for the RF output level at 1.0uV.......
I don't know if this unit you are reviewing does RF at that low level, I am researching that , and that's how I found your review on you tube......Maybe @JUNCTEK will see this comment since I posed this question in this area of comments..... OR if you know the answer that would be very helpful....
I plan on buying the 60 MHz or 80 MHz model next week.........BTW that ringing you saw on your scope @12:47 time stamp is probably the supplied BNC-BNC cable , switch to a RG316 type 50 OHM cable and it will more than likely disappear , I have seen that before ..... Take care Mon Ami ....

@@cajuncoinhunter Yeah that is good question - I am not sure if it can go that low - but for the price its worth a shot. Great point on the BNC cable issue! Thanks for the tip!

Most higher end generators (let's say $500 and up) are ground referenced. With this one you can run it off a battery pack and have it fully floating if you wish.

would this be something I could use to tune car audio with? Use the generator to output into the head units auxiliary input ? ie 1000hz, 40 hz 0db ?

I expect the square wave ringing may be because you didn't terminate the line.

That would also explain some of the voltage variance in the higher frequencies too.

Is there any noise during work? According video - it is silent.

Yes I believe there was at high frequencies

Junctek is so self-unaware that their name is a big problem. I think they should ask an American/British/Australian etc native English speakers about their brand name before they put it on their product.

Ha, yeah I definitely thought the same thing. If they rebranded for the U.S. market I think they would do much better.
