Only thing that makes it resemble shoegaze is the chords they used are chords used by a lot of shoegaze bands like MBV and especially a lot of new nu gaze bands. Tone and effects wise, everlong ain’t shoegaze at all

Normally shoegaze involves using a shit-ton of guitar effects that change the way it sounds in every way. It just doesn't remind me of slowdive, MBV or Alcest.
