First time here but you guys did some solid food research. Didn’t expect you to find places like Morning Catch or Off the Hook. If/when you come back, Poke Fix in Waikiki is really good and Maguro Bros has a shop in Chinatown too near where you were for Morning Catch. Also Paradise Poke (shops in Nu’uanu, Waikiki, Hawaii Kai, & Pearl City) won our local poke fest the last two years. I’m not a big fan of Alicia’s but Ethel’s Grill is near Alicia’s and has great food. Poke by the Pound is also near there-you might have passed the giant sign for it-and they have great poke too. Kahuku Superette on North Shore was the first poke bowl-I’ve never confirmed but I don’t doubt it and one of my favorite traditional pokes. I was definitely impressed that you didn’t go only to the usual food spots.

five star poke was a random find that we walked past which ended up being one of our favs for sure! I'd say maguro brothers takes it if we are talking about fish quality (freshness, texture etc) though. there were a few other places we meant to try like ono seafood, but we ran out of time sadly
the rates were better than the airport ones from what I remember, but they are a smaller company so be mindful that the availability of vehicles is more limited
