    My first year of the Sam Houston Dynasty I was having the negative rushing yards as well.
    So I cleared my recruiting board and only went after linemen.🤣
    In the offseason I had to move my extra receivers to the other positions that had to be filled. It work out well because for some reason Sam Houston had like 20 receivers.

      That sounds about right 😂
      That works though.
      Kinda the same strategy that I'm doing.

    As for my Dynasty, I am 2-2 so far. Running UConn with Kennesaw State's Offense (I LOVE the Pistol) with a 3-3-5 base D, trying to be like those West Virginia teams in terms of bend but don't break. I have alternated Ls and Ws as well as Road and Home so far.
    Game 1 at Maryland was a heartbreaking road L to start the season. Up at the half, but had to kick to begin the 2nd and couldn't put the game away. The Terps are who we thought they were and we let them off the hook.
    Game 2 was our East Hartford debut for the season and we stomped "Merrimack" aka FCS East. Our offense clicked early and often. Our defense looked good early and gassed out a bit in the end.. but I think there were some 2nd teamers in. I can give them a pass since it was a FCS game.
    Game 3 was in Raleigh, NC for Duke. We couldn't do diddly poo on Defense. They STUNK. Thankfully, the Offense was once again clicking, so we could maintain a shootout style Game. They won on a late FG.
    Our first FBS win came against Florida Atlantic. Close early, but our D came to play the Bend but Don't Break style during the 2nd Quarter. Also helps that FAU's kicker missed a few FG atttempts. Though we gave them one back on a terrible Roughing the Kicker... Hopefully the D is gelling now since the 3-3-5 is a new concept for them.
    We are in the middle of a 6(!) game homestead. Next up are the Buffalo Bulls of the MAC. Our 3rd P4 game comes in 3 games hosting Wake Forest.
    We are 2-0 at Home (1-0 vs. The American Conference, & FCS schools) and 0-2 Away (0-1 vs. ACC & B1G schools). We are 1-2 vs. FBS opposition (0-2 vs. P4, 1-0 vs. G5).

      Solid work! 💪
      Those though, heart-breaking losses can be hard to swallow but they build a lot of character for the team. Provides great film for review! You'll get em next time!
      Sometimes that happens with the FCS teams. But I'd have rested the first team as well towards the end of the game cause I'd hate to have a large injury against an FCS opponent. Good win nonetheless, gotta beat the teams you're supposed to best and your guys did just that.
      Hey....keeping up with Duke is no joke for a small school. Other than the poor defense, that would be a game where I'd tell my boys to hold their heads up high cause we'll be back.
      Good win against FAU! Sometimes you just got take what you can get and it sounds like they let you hang around too long and you were able to make them pay for it.
      That's quite the home stretch haha. Should be fun though, especially since you guys have been performing well at home to this point. Buffalo will be a fun matchup!

    Christian Moss is outstanding in real life and Virginia Tech made a mistake not playing him as much. Davis Bryson should connect well with him this year since they both will be seeing max playing time.

      I agree! A 6'3 outside WR is a blessing for sure! Im kinda thinking about moving Tykeem into the slot WR spot so he'll be used more in those WR jet touch passes and WR screens cause I like him in space more the Bohannon. Bohannon has solid route running but he's too slow to be used in the open field like that

    The game against San Jose State should be a lot closer game. Y'all will probably spank FCS Southeast, I figure you'll win in the next 2 games.

      Yeah it should be but they are also considerably better than us. Hopefully the FCS game will be a cakewalk. If we lose another game, we are going to have to make some changes....

    On kicking, I'm surprisingly doing pretty good on extra points, because a lot of people struggle on that, but on the rest, I'm horrible at. ProblyNathan, are you good at field goals, kickoffs, and punts?

    • @ProblyNathan
      @ProblyNathan  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Xtra points and kickoffs haven't been a problem. Punting took a bit cause I kept holding it too long and the meter resets as I let go of the button and I'd kick like a 20 yd punt lol. I think I got it figured out now. Field goals, just depends on the distance and situation

    Gotta stop choosing ur receivers pre snap. On runnning plays it’s gotta either be option or quick hitting just handoff off center or guard, these counters draws or other slow developing plays where ur losing 4 yards getting hit as soon as the handoff is made aren’t working. The o line is bad I’m sure we all agree on that so runs gotta be bang bang and same with passing. Either slants screens to rb bubble screens quick two stop drop wr screens or when they press and u have man throw it up to moss. Quick outs get the te involved on short 5-10 yards passes and hit the rbs out of the backfield especially barnyard with his playmaking ability after the catch. No play action cus ur gonna get sacked or rushed. Anything long developing is a waste. U gotta make the adjustments bud. Let’s go app next week is gonna be better

    • @ProblyNathan
      @ProblyNathan  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @frankchialastri7374 yeah the Pistol isn't doing great right now for sure. I generally have a 3 WR checkdown and if I'm throwing immediately it's because of what I'm trying to read on the field. Depending on the play a quick bullet up the Seam for cover 3 is my first look since it should be open everytime (if rhe QB has enough THP to get it there that is, which has been the problem with some of those picks) then otherwise I do a 1-2 read by choosing a defender and throwing to whoever he doesn't react to. With an offense with a better QB and WRs it's works really well. We just aren't able to push the ball like that unfortunately. It will be better eventually. Sad part, is I like our QBs mid throw better than his short or deep. His drags and slants and pretty much floating ducks and get picked often. The bubble screens seem to be the way but if only works so much cause then the defense adjusts and takes it away. I may just need to block the RB and maybe even TE to get more time for plays to develop. But it's rough dude. I'm sure you clearly see that haha. Appreciate the feedback as always. We will figure it out eventually. Might just be a matter of signing a few pieces for next year

      @frankchialastri7374 I technically already played the next game IRL so I definitely try some different things on offense but for the following game (game 4) I'll try to really focus on mesh concepts and that's really it. I was focusing on levels and Y cross (which are my two preferred concepts) but like you said, we really don't have the blocking for it. We will try mesh and stick in game 4

    At least you have some offensive highlights with Moss there. Keep that part, but otherwise....yea. Louisiana came out a lot better than I predicted. UGH Keep the recruiting at the end of the game videos. I didn't enjoy the recruiting only video as much from last time.
    San Jose State should provide a chance to right the ship, even though it's in California. They are usually a weaker team, so you will have your chances with them. Just keep going at it and get them behind the chains. Finally a team that should be beatable.

    • @ProblyNathan
      @ProblyNathan  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with that take. I really think that Christian Moss could be a special talent, but we gotta get him so help. If we end up getting that QB and some of the OL, I think this will be a whole different team. Still have a lot of work on defense though. Do you think the aggressive style of play in the ladder half of the game was working better? I feel like we are just outmatched on defense and not much I'm doing seems to make a difference. We were at least getting pressure and some stops with blitzing often.
      Will do! I'll keep the recruiting at the end instead of a separate video. I didn't know how many people would like that longer style of recruiting so I figured I'd keep it as a separate video so the ones that just want the highlights won't have to watch that part.
      I hope that we can at least make it close. We got to figure out a run game as well cause we just haven't had any success on the ground yet

      A couple of things you might wanna look at when it comes to defense. During the game in play selection, you'll see at the bottom of the screen something like 'Coaching Adjustments'. Its one of stick buttons. Set your playeds to aggressive and conservative on pitch plays so the close guy goes for the QB, and the far guy goes for the RB. Next, you can set how deep or shallow your coverage guys sit versus various routes to help out with your secondary. Unfortunately, this is in game only, so you have to set these each game.
      Another HUGE tip is choosing coverages that say 'match'. The play art will look the exact same for Nickel Cover 3 and Nickel Covee 3 Match, but the difference is in straight cover 3, your secondary or linebackers will let route runners pass by and sit in their set zones which allows QBs to find holes in your defense. With match, they will move their zone deeper or shorter depending on the route and contest catches much more frequently, making QBs throw into tighter windows which will increase your chances of forcing a drop, deflecting the pass, and best of all, get more picks.
      Your recruiting strat seems pretty sound given the team you have selected and the low hours you get. Hopefully, you can get some of these dudes, and the transfer portal is also gonna be big for you after season one.

      @@ProblyNathan I did like the back half with the more aggressive Defense. It seems to be working a lot better. The other commentor is right with Cover 3 Match as well.
      I know you need OL, but Play Action would at least open something. I also like the Power O 16 (or something like that) play. Remember, I grafted KSU's O onto UConn and that seemed to work decently as well. Not sure if you're using that call or not. Also, you may need to run some more outside runs, since it seems like if I am remembering right, there are a lot of up the middles and the D will get there eventually. Hopefully getting some OL recruits will help that.
      SJSU will be a make or break game. Getting that and then FCS SE wins will at least get the boost back to 2-2 with two wins. Let's Go Owls!

      Thanks for the detailed advice bro! 👌
      In the first half, I was running a good mix of match and regular zone drop coverages but I feel that our play rec is a bit too low on defense to stay super tight on match coverage. I personally love match and it's my preferred style of coverage. We will be running a ton of it in the future as we continue to develop this roster. I'm sad that they removed the match setting from the coach adjustments because in this game, if you set your zone drops it'll disable the match principles. So you'll have to hit reset for the play you select presnap to revert back to match. But I love all the new match plays in the game.
      I'll definitely set those coaching adjustments for the option game when dealing with some good mobile QBs. I generally try not to forget to set them cause knowing me I'll get gashed for like a 70 yd TD cause I forgot to set it 😂😂.
      Thanks! I really hope we get those OL players cause we will be significantly more dangerous if we can get Gabriel and Michael some space to run 💪
