Always fun seeing people experience Chris Stapleton’s music for the first time. I’d recommend Sometimes I Cry, Whiskey and You -Live from CMAs, It’s a Man’s World - James Brown cover live. His lives are always better then studio recordings

ALWAYS listen to Chris live. Only exception is "Death Row". Sounds like rhythm & blues because it's virtually the same as Etta James "I'd Rather Go Blind."

Sorry,. My bad. It's "Tennesse Whiskey" that's like Etta.

Great reaction! That guitar solo was generous in length 😂 Some of the best solos go on and on and on!

the song was written by Chris Stapleton and Craig Wiseman and was on his 2017 album. He started out as a songwriter and had quite a few hits for other artists.

Chris does what he does. LOL. He has a lot of musical influences, so it depends on what song you hear as to what style you think he might be. He does everything from bluegrass to rock to country to r&b to gospel and soul. I mean ... there's really nothing he can't (and doesn't do.) Go look for his duo with H.E.R., although "Cold" live from the CMAs (Country Music Awards) in 2021 is probably my fav. :) Welcome to your new favorite addiction. Please go down the rabbit hole!

R&B/Country crossover is rock and roll.
If you want to hear Chris sing unfused country may I suggest
Steeldrivers w/ Chris Stapleton, "Blue Side Of the Mountain," Grey Fox 2008
Patty Loveless & Chris Stapleton - You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive (CMA Awards 2022)

His cover of “It’s a Man’s World” may impress you. He was in the audience and a band brought him up to sing one song and it is…well, it’s good, in my opinion. Maybe consider this as a true test of his talent.

If you like live and want good country - try Chris Stapleton's "country-R&B" Austin City Limits performance of Tennessee Whiskey and his 2021 CMA award show "Cold". Top it off with "Either Way"

Chris is the new "voice"...bk to the days when MEN sang R&B n blues, not boy groups. As far as old skool hip hop gimme LL or Rakim or KRS One, Melle Mel,...I'm from that time. My favorite group is Outkast but I'm biased...from ATL lol. Wu prolly 2nd. Great reaction bro
(BTW if you listen to his whole albums Chris definitely got tunes both R&B/Soul and more Country sounding too. It's mixed...but he's great no matter what

Ok you want to watch his live performances which sound better than his recordings.
    1. Live impromptu performance of It’s A Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World 🌎
    2. Sometimes I Cry 😢 live at the Bing Lounge
    3. I Was Wrong live at Austin City Limits
    4. Cold 🥶 live at the 2021 CMA
    5. Hold On duet with H.E.R. at the CMA’s I think 2020.
    6. Medley Duet with Justin Timberlake of Tennessee Whiskey 🥃/I Can’t Drink You Away CMA’s not sure of the year.
    7. Live Duet with Jennifer Hudson at some awards show can’t remember the songs.
    8. Tennessee Whiskey live performance at Austin City Limits.
    9. Official Music Video
    Fire Away
    10. Official Music Video
Say Something Duet with Justin Timberlake.
    11. DeathRow live performance at some country music awards show.
    12. Live performance with Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson
There’s much more and before he became a singer he was a master guitarist and songwriter for many famous artists across genres so you probably know his work.
You can Google that and get a list of songs and artists. I’m still working on that.

Just watched your beatles vid..you should react to don't let me down you'll like the bass ..or one of their country songs I've just seen face, rocky racoon lol you should check out strawberry fields forever again ...there is a deeper meaning. It is inspired by a mix of something called an ego drop which u experience during an ac*d trip (which makes you feel small in comparison to the universe , kind of a spiritual awakening similar to meditation etc) and mix of self reflection and reflection on the universe and realisation that he viewed the world in a way that was different to most ppl at the time, he saw past organised relig*on and mental conditioning and saw the truth ..that were all the same souls, all equal, all one whatever r*ce, lgbt, nationality ,it didn't matter...were all one ,but in seeing this and the manipution against peace and oneness etc and lies of politicians and society and many others didnt see this it can be lonely and frustrating and he's just longing for a time when everything was simple in his childhood aka a place called Strawberrys fields.
But instrumentally nothing like that was ever heard before
