    800+%for NDC borrowing
    300+%for NPP borrowing. Percentage rate
    In real sense for examination purpose (800--300)%=500%.
    Therefore, NPP is right %
    Nominal figure NDC is right.
    Therefore, both should tell us how to solve the economy

    At least if I didn't know or learn anything at all in my mathematical class, I know 1500% of Ghc 10,000 might be more in percentage expression than 200% of Ghc 10,000,000.
    But in terms of it's value they are not the same. Coming out with this mathematics of using the percentages as the bases to say the NDC borrowed more by percentage is true but a kindergarten comparison because the values are not the same.

    • @sirevans5310
      @sirevans5310 ปีที่แล้ว

      How on earth do you use nominal figures to compare when the base figures and other variables are never the same and static?
      For example, Ghana's public debt of $122b in 2016 couldn't have been the same even if Akufo didn't borrow a pesewa to it. This is because there are always inflation and / or exchange rates that worsen the public debt. Secondly, government expenditure, including salaries and emoluments, can never be static even in a year, let alone a four-year period. Therefore, the standard of comparing figures and data all over the world is the rates/ percentages. Inflation is calculated in percentages, and so are unemployment levels and the other economic variables used to measure the standard of growth and development. Why is it that the NDC and its sympathisers are quick to use percentages to compare debt to GDP in 2016 and 2022, but then tried to use nominal figures when comparing the rate of debt accumulation?
      What kind of economic analysis is that? Why can't they use the same approach throughout? You can't pick and choose.

    I feel very sad if NDC-Sammy Gyamfi would sit down here to reflect disrespect to the citezenry by the NPP. The NDC in government has been the most reckless government in power since our democratic dispensation. Look!!! to support my argument let us compare (1) The money used by the NDC to building the so-called Circle Dubai and how much used by Nana Akufo Ado led NPP government to building four of the same interchanges namely, Tamale, Obetsibie, the Almighty Pokuase and Ashiaman/Tema motorway.(2) Look at how much money the NDC put in the SAGLAME HOUSING deal and how far we reached. (3) All these borrowings were taken by the NPP government to service the debts JDM and his NDC left unpaid during their exit in government in 2016. The NDC cannot be an option to the NPP at even this worst time of the globe challenges facing the entire world. The NDC should give us a break.Apuutcccccccccccc

    Ghana's economy has never been free from challenges under any regime. What was the rate of depreciation of the Ghana cedis and the rate of inflation cumulatively from July 2012 to January 2017 when JM left office? If before covid Akufo Addo's performance was better than JM's, then the NDC have no point. Also, why are they using a nominal figure to compare the public debt instead of the rate of percentage? This is mischievous in the sense that inflation, salary increments, fuel prices, electricity, transportation fares, and all other factors are assessed based on a percentage and not on a nominal basis.
    Therefore, nobody can convince me that the NDC under Mills/Mahama did better with our public debt, which arose from 4 billion to 122 billion than Akufo Addo under whose the public debt has risen from 122 billion to 575 billion.
