Great thanks! Do you prefer the Keb over the Kajka? Wich brand are your boots? Have you tried the DJI Action 2, it's quite light and dynamic? It would be useful if you put the gear mentioned in the description. Congrats on your 1000 km!!

Hi there Ted, i also have the Keb 72 i live in a very dry dessert area. Most of the time places don’t have a lot of water so hiking with 4L-6L of water for a 2day adventure is quite normal. Nevertheless the pack gets extremely heavy i did weighed mine to almost 50-60lb now in winter ( winter is a heavy game anyways) My question is do you know from your personal experience what is the birchwood load tolerance. Or if you ever felt that after so much load the frame was gonna snap out?
very good question, I Neve considered that! well, the way its designed it's just as strong as an aluminum frame. I was never worried or even concerned that it would break, the thought never crossed my mind! it's very sturdy!

Greetings from the west coast of Canada! Planning a trek like this definitely takes careful planning and you seem to have done really well. For myself, I'm heading out for a 1200 km (2-month) trek in the Rocky Mountains, and most of it is above the treeline. The longest stretch without being able to restock is about 2 weeks in the mountains. You did this 1000 km trek a year ago using the Keb 72. I was curious if you found that more than sufficient or if you wished you had a bit more room? I'm trying to decide if I will be getting the Keb 72 or Kajka 85 L pack. ** Oh, and yes, about the tights...I normally wouldn't get those, but you inspired me to get a pair. I've already tried them a couple of times here and I have to say that I am amazed at how comfortable they are 🙃
Hahaha, ten points for the tights!! So glad you like them! :) Remember that I had a ton of camera gear as well so I’d say that the keb 72 is sufficient! This sounds very interesting! Best of luck brother!
Damn bro, somebody has been going to the gym 😄💪🏼 well done 👍🏽 Thanks for sharing and congrats on completing your trip. Ps. Postnord (like others) doesn’t like it when you send gas cannisters.
I never left the gym! :) thanks brother! I know, I talked with them many times regarding that! Both when I went there and with their costumer service! :)
Ah sorry brother! I get blinded sometimes and think people can read my mind! It looks way different before you wash it just so you know! I believe it’s called 1960 logo beanie or something along those lines
I went with hiking shoes, I just accepted the fact that I was going to get wet and I wanted something that would dry faster, the model was: Hanwag BANKS LOW BUNION GTX
How on earth did you fit All that in to a keb 72 😮 i have the keb 72 aswell... Impressive! I know you've used the kajka backpack previously. Do you prefer the keb over the kajka? You Seem to be a man with fairly wide shoulders, like myself, and i'm thinking about getting the kajka for the abillity to adjust the width on the shoulderstraps, as i sometimes feel the keb to be a bit narrow for comfort on longer trips. Also i miss the abillity to open Up the big compartment room, compared to the keb being topfilled.
rest assured, I didn't! a lot of the stuff was outside the pack at times! :) yes, I do prefer the keb over the kajka, I really think the keb is a perfected backpack, so glad I used it for this adventure! I think if the make a crossover between those to packs we would get the ultimate backpack!
Nice to see what you used. This actually made up my mind between a Lite 1 and Lite 2. If Ted can carry the 400g extra weight through the green ribbon, I can do it for a few days 😂 One thing that still amazes me is the volume of everything, specially the food. I also got the keb 72, but I doubt that I will get everything in the pack 😂
Wow. alot of gear , food and stuff, but it´s a non concern as a strongman as yourself. How many kg was the daily backpack while travel and what are there any recommendations that you can share after the trip that you learned ?
Hello from Sweden! :) I used hiking shoes with a goretex lining, for a longer adventure like this I’d go for a shoe instead of a boot. Watch the previous video, I talk about it there! :)
Hi Ted!! Nice clips!! Really interesting. Noticed you had both the Kajka and the Keb packs, so wonder if you could share your thoughts on which way to go. I'm in search of a 60 - 65 liter pack to do 2 / 3 night trips and thought to go for the Kajka 65, but just see that the dimensions are not that different from the Keb 72. Any strong arguments to go for the one or the other? Both will be good packs and since I'm a little bit a Fjallraven fanboy it will end up between these two bags. Your thoughts on this are appreciated.
Hey brother! Thank you so much! Well, like you say both are good packs and you’ll probably end up happy with whatever you choose. I’d go with the Keb 72 any day of the week, its slightly lighter, very well thought through, durable, comfortable, accessible. I just love that bag! :)
@@TedWeirum thanks for sharing your thoughts. Will try to source a Keb 72 to compare them. I’ve just received a Kajka 65. So I can check them out both in more detail.
@@TedWeirum oh wow 🤩 what a difference..received the Keb today. First impression is that it’s really nice.. sturdy, but not as rough and tough as the Kajka. The only big plus from the Kajka vs the Keb is the front opening. Don’t know yet what I find the better pack. Will do a short test walk with the same load in the Keb tomorrow or in the weekend. I’ll keep you posted. Definitely happy I reached out I and ordered the Keb to try.
not impossible, it's been through some stuff, I tried to change the settings after this video so we'll see if it's improved in future videos! it was worse than you can see, I tried to save it by cutting and adding other clips over the worst parts. but that didn't get passed you! :)
check the video before this one, I go through it all there! gym was one part, but the biggest stuff was spending time in nature, I made two smaller adventures as a sort of prep too :)
Nice info you gave us. The whole series I was thinking how many kg's of camera gear is he taking with him. 😀 Another thing isn't clear for me. Did you finish in Abisko or continue north?
I wouldn’t call it a Fjällräven ad, but I am sponsored by them and they endorse my adventures and projects. Hence the little note about that in the left upper corner of the video.
And i thought hiking was about relaxing and enjoying nature... recharging the soul. This was more like a marathon stress gear video in long johns 😂 so hurry that forgot pants at home 👍
Hahaha, you got me there!! 😂 Truth is you’re right, I had tons of gear with me so it would have taken a lot of time to dig through it all in a more detailed way. The adventure itself was filled with enjoyment and relaxation plus challenges! Thanks for watching brother!
Are you somewhat sponsored or get discount on these products - you mentioned REAL food? It's first time I see so much Fjällräven and heavy equipment in a gear video! So is it because of sponsor, discount, personal choice or money?
I’ve been doing this for 5 years now, I love Fjällräven, it’s the brand I started out using and by time the saw what I was about and they wanted to help me, So short answer is personal choice. I reached out to REAL and asked them if they were interested in helping out and after some talks they decided to help me, of course I’m very glad for that help as it was an essential part of my adventure! :) I hear all the time that I use heavy gear, I get what people when and yes if you just see the numbers it sure adds up, but for me it’s also quality, environmental, design and comfort, everything I use is probably heavier than most other things but I feel very comfortable using it and I know I can trust my gear if things turn sideways, that’s more important to me! Very good question! :)
Alltså jävlar vad grejer! 😳 Men klart…
@@TedWeirum oh that solves my puzzle, haha. I was searching on google why men use tampon, it gives me a result saying US army used to give tampon to soldiers to use as cotton when they are wounded by gunshot. This only confused me more. Thanks for letting me know the real reason. LOL
@@TedWeirum yeah if i would've known i would've skip the video, next time just give the information don't show or show while not wearing the daam thing.
is not about you is about the people around you. I see mother truckers wearing these in very public parks swinging their tiny bits to everyone and by everyone I mean specifically kids, yes out in the backcountry is fine once you are by yourself or with someone willing to see your shit all the way to the summit by all means. Yet whoever uses these in public go fuck yourself. Like i always say you can do whatever you want as long as you are not bothering anyone else.
The full pack are what the Norwegian Armed Forces use, and what Real started with. Soldiers get three packs, breakfast, lunch and dinner - the latter are interchangeable. Breakfast is musli with either chocolate or berries, and *loaded* with sugar, way too sweet for me. The food quality is awesome, and the bars are top notch. Hell, even the coffee is good! We bring one lunch/dinner pack each as backups, even on short trips. The green packs are about 20% larger than the orange ones - add a roll, and we share an orange one as a quick meal on longer roadtrips.

Tripod info do you have?
I have some, tell me what you need to know! :)
What brand of boots do you wear? Are they north face?
These are Hanwag, have replaced the shoelaces on them though! there's a video on the channel about them!
Be safe and Good Luck.
🌄
likewise Adam!
One of my favorite bands of all time, I’ve seen them live twice…Primus- check’em out!! Outstanding bass player!!
ha! I don't think Ive heard of them, I'll check them out!
Southpark intro 👌
My name is Mudd
Nice to see what you used. This actually made up my mind between a Lite 1 and Lite 2. If Ted can carry the 400g extra weight through the green ribbon, I can do it for a few days 😂
One thing that still amazes me is the volume of everything, specially the food. I also got the keb 72, but I doubt that I will get everything in the pack 😂
it's a great tent! hope you'll like it! a lot of stuff was outside the pack at times!
Whats the solar panel brand?
xstorm! :)
Wow. alot of gear , food and stuff, but it´s a non concern as a strongman as yourself. How many kg was the daily backpack while travel and what are there any recommendations that you can share after the trip that you learned ?
:) it flexed in and out between 24-30 I'd say, it might have been even heavier in the beginning, maybe it was a good thing I didn't checked :)
how many packages for the entire trip ?
used packages was 5 :)
Greetings from Greece! Did you use waterproof or non waterproof shoes? Would you recommend a leather lined shoe or boot for an adventure like this? 👍
Awesome, let me know what you think!
EXCITING! :) looking forward to hear what you think!
I think there something wrong with your Sony camera, the autofocus might be broken or something..
not impossible, it's been through some stuff, I tried to change the settings after this video so we'll see if it's improved in future videos! it was worse than you can see, I tried to save it by cutting and adding other clips over the worst parts. but that didn't get passed you! :)
How about water?
Good question Björn! Wasn’t a problem, I found water sources along the way for the entire trip!
Bra intressant genomgång, tack!
Tack för att du tittade Jens! :)
Impressive Ted! What kind of tape are you using for feet?
DUCT TAPE! hahah, noo it's sport tape, easy to cut in small pieces!
What training did you do to prepare for this trip?
check the video before this one, I go through it all there! gym was one part, but the biggest stuff was spending time in nature, I made two smaller adventures as a sort of prep too :)
Nice info you gave us. The whole series I was thinking how many kg's of camera gear is he taking with him. 😀
Another thing isn't clear for me. Did you finish in Abisko or continue north?
you've seen some of it when we met! I decided to finish in Abisko!
Hvilke merke og type er thightsen?
Fjällräven abisko trekking tights
Fjallraven add?
I wouldn’t call it a Fjällräven ad, but I am sponsored by them and they endorse my adventures and projects. Hence the little note about that in the left upper corner of the video.
@@TedWeirum that makes sense then. Awesome having such a great sponsor! Great vids.
@leerolfe5332 thanks brother! I made videos about the brand long before I got sponsored so it’s a genuine affection for the brand and its concepts!
What Brand tripod do you use, i like the design of it
Don’t know the name, but @arber does! Check out his channel!
@@TedWeirum thanks will check it out
Interesting patch on your left arm on your latt hoodie, never seen that on fjallraven gear.
true, this is the polar patch, got it for that adventure, we'll see if ill be able to actually attend the adventure itself too :)
@@TedWeirum i would like one. And yes should buckel up and go.
Bet yer sponsored by Fjall Raven. Pls give me links to yer gear. It's great looking stuff
hahaha, thanks brother! it's all in the channel feel free to look around! you could probably say that im the no. 1 leg model for Fjallraven… ;)
Så jäkla snygg!!
Videon eller jag eller båda? ;)
Well done! For an even greater Swedish hiking experience, have a look at Via Suecia - The Swedish Trail!
Wilco!
And i thought hiking was about relaxing and enjoying nature... recharging the soul. This was more like a marathon stress gear video in long johns 😂 so hurry that forgot pants at home 👍
Hahaha, you got me there!! 😂
Truth is you’re right, I had tons of gear with me so it would have taken a lot of time to dig through it all in a more detailed way.
The adventure itself was filled with enjoyment and relaxation plus challenges!
Thanks for watching brother!
Vår Svenska vildmarksambassadör stärker sitt varumärke för varje video, smart, vital och verkligen inspirerande.. Tack..
TACK! :)
It saddens me to see that you took down the Gröna Bandet videos. Sad day for the internet.
Only to be back in a new form my brother! ❤️
@@TedWeirum oh, world is again a better place now 🤙🏻🤍 can’t wait brother !!
Appreciate you brother!
good
:) thanks brother!
great loadout
Thx brother!
Did he say tampon? For what though. (Legitimate question)
Subscribed solely because of your impressive muscle mass!
❤️ my man!!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Should always have torch / headlight
Please elaborate! :)
@@TedWeirum stövlar ser väldigt coola ut! Säg mig vad dina skor heter.
Nu förstår jag! :) Hanwag Torne heter dom!
I hear all the time that I use heavy gear, I get what people when and yes if you just see the numbers it sure adds up, but for me it’s also quality, environmental, design and comfort, everything I use is probably heavier than most other things but I feel very comfortable using it and I know I can trust my gear if things turn sideways, that’s more important to me! Very good question! :)
I remember your nasty chocolate experience on the training trips 😬
and you commented! I appreciate it David! :)
Alltså jävlar vad grejer! 😳 Men klart…
🙏🏻❤️
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Damn you’re built like a tank dude
HA! thanks brother! when I got back I was really weak so that inspired me to get after it!
@@TedWeirum Glad to hear it! Always on the eternal gains journey
Likewise brother! :)
So basically Absisko huh
not sure what you mean here, but probably!

@@TedWeirum u got a new subscriber❤️❤️❤️
Welcome aboard! :)
why do you have tampon in your bag?LOL!
Great question! It’s the perfect packed up piece of cotton that can be used when trying to start a fire! :)
@@TedWeirum oh that solves my puzzle, haha. I was searching on google why men use tampon, it gives me a result saying US army used to give tampon to soldiers to use as cotton when they are wounded by gunshot. This only confused me more. Thanks for letting me know the real reason. LOL
No problem brother! It’s great because it’s so tightly packed! :)
Dude, you wear tights 😂
Dude, you watch me wear tights 😂😂
😂😂😂
You kinda sad man.. Why would you even comment on his tights?
The green packs are about 20% larger than the orange ones - add a roll, and we share an orange one as a quick meal on longer roadtrips.
great input brother! I believed we used something similar in the Swedish armed forces as well! :)
@@TedWeirum Yes, Blå Band mixed with Real and Bridgeford condiments.
Sounds about right! :)
