Feels like yesterday when I discovered Awolnation in 2011. Crazy to think its been 10 years already. The first album will always carry something special for me.
Second band I ever saw in Bilbao nearly 10 years back the first bein Stranglers In 1978. Awolnation would have been the greatest superband but the world has gone down the drain. Megalithic is absolutely the perfect title and it may get recognition in the future... I know it was charting longer than anything but he’ll that’s not enough.. Bruno was the new Bowie or Freddie and we need these heroes more than ever..
@@christopheralford2983 its more like a quick one while he is away by the who... which was done way before band on the run. but yeah, alot of bands followed that formula...
If there is 1 thing that AWOL does right 100% of the time, without argument, it's outro songs. Knights of Shame was a perfect ballad of emotional shift, heaviness, and groove, as was the musical theme for Megalithic Symphony. Drinking Lightning was a perfect, raw, electronic, orchestral, sad, dark song to close out the darker tones of Run, which is my personal favorite album of all time. Stop that Train was a perfect soundwall of rock grooves, drum fills and beats, and heavy mixing, with some urgency in the lyrics, which closes out the fast-paced nature of Here Come the Runts very well. I'm a Wreck was a perfect closing to the angry, but more cartoonish and free-spirited, almost cinematic music of AM&TLR. It was one of the heaviest songs on the album, almost as if to declare that Aaron is seriously pissed. A fantastic, climactic, cinematic outro.
I'm a single mother to a highly intelligent daughter, and she was curious why I was listening to this over and over... I explained the lyrics the way I see things- Dance like the world is ending seems frightening to a normal child however we should dance either way, right? I was also walking around with my head cut off because I was depressed instead of looking at the bright sides. Praying helps no matter what anyone believes- We are all stardust and light ;)
Possibly one of the most chaotically beautiful masterpieces they’ve ever done. I love it. AWOL please create another song that plays off this one. Another 12 minutes of beautiful chaos. I would Call it “the 12th Knight” so it’s a play off of knights of shame
So does this mean that Marc is BACK?! Will see him out there for the eventual AM&tLR tour in 2022?!! Good to see him back! He was bomb on the Run tour!
I remember seeing AWOLnation at the House of Blues in NoLA. I was in college at the time and had a late class the day of. Rushed when I got out to meet my friends and make it to the concert. And what an epic night!! Seriously one of the best nights to date and the connection in the room through the music and the band…top tier! One of my favorite songs here, and yes, we’re listening, we hear you!
@@Steve-Heather it was actually really good. Seen them twice and they never disappoint. I will say that I do not care for the higher pitch of the female voice. Prefer the normal one. But still a dope live version. Can’t wait to see them for a third time 🤘🏻
I forgot to mention I'm writing something inspiring for generations, that's why I felt confident to spread my wings and fly and I want everyone that takes the time to read this to know: Young or old, people may appear completely normal on the outside and no one knows they are disabled. To me, this song shows no discrimination.
Listen to this song once a year. When going to the shore. "The waiting on a heartbeat" segment gets to me. It closes out the final, and most epic song, of an epic album. It also hits me in the guy, as it gives me this crazy indescribable feeling of hurt, anger, and acceptance all wrapped up in one. For some reason, it puts me in the mind of my twin brother when we were 14 as he was lying on the side of the road dying after an accident back in 1998, which is weird that it strikes me like that, as this song was released more than a decade after his death.
HOLY... THIS IS AWESOME... I wanted a Knights of Shame video SOOOO BADDDd..... I was at the Honolulu show @ The Republik it WAS AWESOME.... Actually more awesome since the crowd was amping along. INCREDIBLE. Never forget that show.
Amazing. My song for when I feel my best and dance as well as my song when I feel down and need to connect with life... My happy place and my cure. ...for ever....we are listening... ✌🙏❤
I've seen them in concert three times, and could go 100 times more. Aaron's wife lives in a burb near me, so I hope that means they'll have a lot concerts here.
I grew up with this album, I was 7 when the album came out. I’m so glad to see this performance because it gave me such a great rush of nostalgia…I’ve seen them live 4 times, I grew out of the band for a while but I’ve always periodically come back and listened/still listen to a ton of Aaron’s/AWOL’s songs. They directly inspired me to become a musician (I now play drums, keyboards, and guitar, haven’t learned any awol songs on guitar or keys, but I’ve played their whole fucking discography on drumset, not trying to brag but tell my huge appreciation for the band).
OMG this song is an anthem to life! I've been listening to this every weekend on Saturday and Sunday at sunset and the last part I always hug and kiss my wife because without her I would die...
Oh, what I would do to see this one Live. My fave song ever. It ends too soon. ❤️. Thrilled to have seen y'all live in September of 2011, right before you blew up.
This song reminds me of talking heads song once in a lifetime that performance is pretty cool nice tender vibrant pop song great awesome vocals there too and the rapping is sick u definitely nailed this particular song nice job guys u wowed me tonight folks love u 😍
This song is just perfect over perfect. Play this around your associates; their reaction helps gauge their trustworthiness. I’ve scared myself a few times by getting distracted- let the song run through the end silent pause…. ….. …. 🎶 we rob from the rich and blow down the door!

Haven't to this Day disliked one single 🎶 song written and performed by My BELOVED AWOLNATION🤩🌹
2024 babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
This is their Masterpiece still. This song blows me the fuckkkk away. Thank you soooo much for doing a studio version
It's like the AWOLNATION version of Band On The Run by WINGS, like a couple of songs in one damn song!!! He knows how to pick them closers!!!
@@christopheralford2983 its more like a quick one while he is away by the who... which was done way before band on the run. but yeah, alot of bands followed that formula...
Our generation's Bohemian Rhapsody. ❤️
no way, more like our version of a quick one while he is away by the who.
Yeah, id say our generations bohemian rhapsody is "a little peice of heaven" only because of the orchestra.

100% agree, the only other band Ik that has these good of closers would be Radiohead
For those that know, know. This is an epic monumental performance.
Masterpiece.
And beyond
If you know you know 🙌
WHERE CAN WE SEE THE WHOLE STREAM AGAIN IT WAS MAGIC OMFG
genius❤️
I love the end when his head is gone. Those lyrics about being/feeling headless occur in more than one song.

What about their song named RUN
as a meme or genuinely good song?

This song was what got me into AWOL. A wonderful band of weird sounds that slap hard
Seriously! All the tempo changes are insanely good-just when you think you l know direction the song is going, another surprise.
I've lost of how many times I've heard this song
I come here almost daily to re-watch this, it's so good
This song is so underrated...
10 YEARS!!!!!!!! i was at high school when i meet AWOL and i’m still here! hugs from 🇧🇷
The Beatles would have been so proud of this medley. It's my new yoga stretch mantra music. Thank you so much

Bringing back the 2012 nostalgia
Uh no, that performance was horrible prob their worst ever on that song. Brining back 2012 would have been Aaron on the drums and Kenny on vocals.
