If we change the policy settings, we can reduce inequality rather than let it grow and grow. If we do this, we will see less crime, less general stress, less discontent, which benefits the top and the bottom.
Re prefab - Boxabl doesn't have any trouble with financing. Build houses with robots (as we do with cars), transport them like shipping containers, unfold them complete on sight, put them together like lego.
Australia, due to divorces and other family issues, is experiencing more and more situations with one-parent families and split families. Can this trigger a higher demand for units and smaller houses?
Imagine it would. The Govt sponsored policy for living outside of the retirement home system longer (because it saves on bed subsidy to Govt) is an unexpected population that would normally be in Estates but aren't anymore, they are bidding against investors and FHBs. Then there's the failures in Lifestyle Villages/Retirement Villages/Retirement Homes etc. Govt could better regulate them or Nationalise them to give confidence to people who don't want to live in community anymore and stabilise fees etc.
@@leonie563nationalising retirement homes isn’t the answer. Look at the mess Govt make of running hospitals, ambulances, education, defence , public housing, and electricity!
Veronica and Chris, you invite interesting and knowledgeable guests on which I enjoy listening too. Thanks.

That’s a very interesting perspective and I think very valid.

Absolutely. But in saying, Australia is no different to amy other western nation whwn it comes to the breakdown of the family unit.
Great podcast and analysis very interesting no wonder why developers like Meriton can’t build apartments fast enough
Boomer parents left me enough for a house deposit, and I’ll be leaving enough for my kids to buy a car. 😢
Let it rot
