ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

Mac Royal’s performance was much better than many professionals on serious award shows. He had all the notes in tune. He had the low register, the high notes, and soared in perfect pitch to the heavenly grace notes. He had the look. He felt the lyrics and it showed. He had the drag and he had the swag. He took D’Angelo’s incredible song, did it beautifully, and made it his own. I hope he gets a career launch from this. He really deserves it. There are many good singers but he is among the best if not THE best. Good luck!!!!

Mac is one of those rare breeds that knows what he wants. He makes good choices all across the board and has impeccable style and vocal skills. Reba let him go because he didn't take her direction. Lol. But everything happens the way it should. No love lost.

I give everyone that sings a Maxwel or D'Angelo song and does a good job singing it credit, no matter if it was close to the original, or subpar, because it takes tons of courage to sing any of their songs. Both Maxwell and D'Angelo are well known in their genre of music and even outside of old school R&B but in my opinion are 2 of the most underrated vocalist of all time

For me, it's the fact that he does it without shouting.
Straight talent, no theatrics, he barely did anything but sing and it was an amazing performance.

If John is sane and fair, Mac's and Lila's performances warrant them the top 2 slots in his team. This is easily one of the highlights of the playoffs. He just stood there like a boss, showing why he deserved to pass through without even struggling.
