Put Melanie in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame posthumously! It's an unbelievable shame that she wasn't inducted in her lifetime. Such a generational icon. RIP beautiful soul!
    Cheers\=/\=/

I had not heard this song until now. My wife and I were together alone for such a long time, and then four years ago we weren't anymore. Singing alone is so hard. Thank you for your words and music, Melanie

I heard this song when I was 13 years old on the Woodstock album, The first album I ever purchased. This was my favorite song and like you I am now singing alone this past one and a half years.

So sorry you left us Melanie, you were a soothing voice in our increasingly polarised world. Your beautiful songs will definitely live on forever.

Main steam media could certainly learn from Melanies honesty and compassion for people and the beautiful way she delivers it.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to hear one news station play her music rather than report 24/7 about how many people got sick, died or were killed through unnecessary violence.
I first saw this young Lady perform, in a muddy field, in the rain, August of 1969 at a music festival in Bethel N.Y I was 13
The minute she began to perform I realized there was very something special about her.
Here we are over 50 years later and her honest and sincere belief in peace can happen in our lifetimes still rings so true.
I have never forgotten how she willing showed over 400,0000 people how to overcome adversity through her music, peace and the willingness to join together as one.
Please wake up world, peace can come to those who embrace it, this was proven in August 1969 at place known as Woodstock.
Those of us than learned the true meaning peace so many years ago through Melanies music and loving personality are truly blessed.
Her gift must not be allowed to ever be forgotten, it is our responsibility to pass her gift on to the younger generations.
Melanie thank you, that night and your determination to be yourself regardless of conditions has stayed with me my whole life and carried me through both good and bad times.

Wow. Found this tonight in March 2020. I love her. As a boy, found her music so soothing. And, yes, she's beautiful, with amazing soft hair. But, as great as all that is, you are such a wonderful musical talent. Thank you for what you've given to me, and so many other. Carson gets you.

America’s Got Talent said the same thing to Courtney Hadwin after she auditioned with jaw dropping Janice Joplin/Michael Jackson type performances! Courtney said “Back in England, they don’t get me” & a talent judge replied “Screw them, WE get you”!😅😅😅😅

When she speaks, I am reminded of a short talk Joni Mitchell gives just before she sings Woodstock song on a piano. I can see similar level of honesty in both talks. However, the silly host with his self centered remarks and questions partly spoils what Melanie wanted to say. I don't like these talk show hosts because many of them cannot deal with their own stardom and confidence of home turf when they talk to their guests. They interrupt frequently, put words in the mouths of the guests, change the course of conversation, and bring in their own experiences. On this front, I particularly dislike Conan O'Brien as he failed the most to keep his often poor humor contained. But big names like Carson, Letterman, etc. were not a whole lot better. Today's generation is the same way (Colbert, Fallon, etc.)

Listen to the way she holds a note at the end of a phrase. It's almost impossible to believe a human being can make a sound like that . And it's almost like she's not singing, but you still hear a sound. It's incredible.
Her voice is unbelievably sweet. In an interview, she never got excited or upset.
