Ha ha! Planning and a bit of luck are always needed when riding without clutch. Dunno if I’d get away with it round here nowadays. Had a nipple let go a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately it was just as I was leaving home on the T150, but I had a spare in my tank bag anyway. Nice video and with added tension too 😱 Thank you John.
Hi Moto :-) cheers, aye the nipple dropped of as the cable had not been splayed before soldering, cheapo one. I had a Venhill at home which is now fitted what a difference certainly worth the extra cost.
Caution! May contain peril. Great couple of runs there John. Love those forestry roads, would love to have a go on those one day on the 250 rally! Apart from the black van without indicators, that run back went remarkably well. Would love to her the story of the BMW sometime.
Hi Pete :-) thank you some of that forestry road runs parallel to the NYMRW would be good riding down with the steam train. I have put a couple of vids together doing the BMW which I will be uploading.
PS bike sounds very refined Sir! except the cable but that happens and I am putting a spare one in the cases in morning! I saw that dead critter in road as well. LOL!
Hi Balmesh :-) we got some great roads over the moors, get your revs and road speed on par and clutch-less are easy, you should practice when you have a clutch rather than wait til the cable snaps. It is a handy technique to know, as you see it can get you home.
some very rustic looking lonnings at the beginning marra and a few stressful moments once the clutch cable had snapped but home safe and sound in the end .
Hi jvsdi :-) I had to look up lonnings not a word I had come across (Cumbrian for green lane) Snapping the cable was a pain, won't stop the bike going though only black vans do that! :-D
joining you soon John. some time about the 10th sept. look out for the red and black flash. i will bring some biscuits with me this time, any preferances :) phone you again in the next few days....
Hey Lunmad! while I replace my BSA 441 frame set I have bought a couple of BMW's and today did some ride vids in great fall colours here in Canada. The bike is a '72 toaster that had had a bit of a crash in '82. Top notch almost at 80 now after a lot of fiddling! BSA style! th-cam.com/video/9YKOSw7Ry-8/w-d-xo.html

Hi 441 :-) cheers, me bikes running nice, I have since fitted a Feather lite cable what a big difference to a cheapo.
Lovely empty roads. Don't know how I'd get on without a clutch? Probably horribly noisy!
