Bike Build | 2019 Specialized S-Works Epic Hardtail

  • Most bike builds call for a cold beer. However, with a bike of this caliber, we felt it deserved something shaken, not stirred. Check out Tim's new 2019 S-Works Epic Ht that sits around 22lbs in a size XL. Tim wanted something that was light, fast, and also felt at home on descents. On top of a KS LEV Ci dropper post and a 780mm wide Enve M6 handlbar, we went with a 120mm Fox Factory 34 Step-Cast fork which put his head tube angle at 68.8°. This bike is a rocket no matter which way you point it.

    you put a fox 34 on a cross country frame. would be more suited to somthing like a rockshox sid or 32 stepcast. still a nice bike though

      for fun (also a fox 34 step cast is very much trail xc), sounds like they want a fun but fast hardtail, I run a 120mm fork on my xc bike and it's great

      Considering the fact that I own the specialized epic expert and a stump jumper FSR trail and they each have their own purpose on the trail. I don’t understand why they’re turning a cross country race bike with the trails spec it’s basically a trail bike on a strict diet. Which a trail bike will do that duty so much better. But it just goes to show you that the confidence that this bike is built so well that it can be pushed to the limit of trail riding. When you watch a cross country race they do some pretty gnarly stuff they have to ride through

    • @notlemw4116
      @notlemw4116 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was about to sell my Epic HT because it just seemed too skittish with a 100 fork and low stem height. Instead I put on a Fox 34 SC and some riser bars and the bike is completely transformed - way more confident and fun to ride. Is it faster? Maybe not. But even on race day (if those come back...lol), I might keep this configuration just because it's that much more satisfying to ride. Nothing wrong with a super light and super confident bike.

      No creo que haya sido un equivocación, esto no está hecho para ganar (ni siquiera correr en) una carrera de XC. Esto es un ‘experimento’ que trata de convertir una bici de competición en en una Trail, All Mountain light, o algo así. Una bici ligera y divertida, con la que luego puedas pasarte un poco (o todo lo que te atrevas), bajando. En la reseña del principio dice que le ha quitado un grado al tubo de la dirección con el aumento de recorrido de la horquilla. Espero que le haya salido bien xq es un experimento muy caro.... 😅
      P.D. Yo estoy pensando en algo parecido, pero con el cuadro de otra marca, y en aluminio. Mi presupuesto es mucho más modesto...
