And now begins the painstaking journey to getting my fitness back for hopefully next season. Thanks alot covid ☺️
Love the vids mate hope u make the seniors
Returned to over 40's football, great bit of advice here. cheers.
Couple of things....if you're looking to get improve your speed you need to dedicate the session to speed ONLY, doing a few short sprints and then a pile of long interval runs at a sub max pace isn't going to make you faster. Sprint at max velocity with full recovery, keep it simple 4-8 sprints, 20-60m. Save the "fitness" work for another day.
Secondly, those runs aren't going to improve your aerobic system, anything that gets your HR over 140/150 bpm is drawing from anaerobic/lactate energy. Gaelic is an alactic/aerobic sport, people spend too much time spent in lactic zone training, mostly unnecessary and a great injury risk with little pay off in performance.
Thanks for the training tips! I joined the hurling club here in the States a couple years ago (up the Denver Gaels!) and have been looking for ways to improve my game. Much appreciated!
Side note, I wish it was normal in the States to have netting up like that in our parks. I train mostly on American football fields with their goal posts and am constantly having to run my sliotars down (guess it helps with cardio, haha).
I’m 12 years old I weigh 145 pounds 65 kg and I play full back because I can tackle well and I have a strong kick but I feel I stay back because it easier then mid but now I want to be mid but I feel I’m not fit enough thanks for the vid keep it up
How’s everything going lad are you playing midfield
Great video 👍
How much rest do u take in between the 5 sets of 200m runs and the 10 sets of 100m runs
Great vids these. Only came across them a few days ago. Is it always a case of if it's not hurtin it's not workin. Also would be good to do something on breathing exercises and optimum way to breath when training
No pain no gain isn’t true you can have gain without pain but up to a point pain can give a good indication your workouts are working however there’s a limit to how much pain is good obviously.
Great video👍🏼
Ima 12 year old doing wights and body wight training 1 times a week can u give me some advice not to injure my self thanks
Yes bud, I’ll try and get that up in next few videos
Could you please explain the 200m and 100m sprints please I'm not exactly sure how I should do them. Thanks
