I am so sorry to admit this: there are alot of incredibly talented songwriters and singers out there, BOB IS THE BEST OF THE BEST ! BOB IS THE BEGINNING AND THE END ! LONG LIVE BOB DYLAN!!!
Well said and so true for me Neil young is the best musician and guitarist on that stage such emotion and energy its unreal dont know where he gets it from seen him 2 times in 93 along with crazy horse with Van Morrison Pearl Jam 4 non blondes Slane Castle Ireland and 3 years ago when he came to kilkenny with Promise of the real and Bob Dylan still was as great as ever, love how Neil outshines everyone else on the stage great chemistry with Tom petty and to see the face on George Harrison is priceless when Neil takes to the stage 👍
There's a significant problem with Clapton's playing, especially at 4 min mark--he stays in the pentatonic blues mode -it totally clashes with the song, and -im sorry to say-is a real amateur move.
So much hating on Clapton on various sites, don't get it. Here he was content to be in the shadows and make an enormous contribution to the band. His playing added a whole new sound to an already classic song. For that he gets my applause.
My theory is that it's simply because he survived and went on to other musical interests. Rock fans can almost be as bad as metal fans when it comes to musicians not doing more of the exact thing they've already done.
Since Dylan was a folk musician early on, I'm really glad he got The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem, arguably the greatest Irish folk group ever and old friends of his, to appear at this concert. But, damned if they don't look out of place on stage with this group of people. Hell, it's even weird seeing Johnny Cash up there singing this sort of song. Kudos to Dylan for assembling such a variety of legends to sing together. And thanks for posting the clip.
@@semireckless to me, nope. But, to him yes. So I think we should respect his music enough to label it what he said he wants it labeled as. He is the creator.

g.e smith, u little beauty! what brilliant guitaring! this album is an absolute must have for anyone who even remotely loves the guitar. I bought it about 20 yrs ago and am still loving it. simply awesome and breathtakingly beautiful.
I see GE and his weird haircut, but I don't think I can hear his guitaring on this one, but he deserves all credits for managing the whole event as its musical director as well as being a sideman for artists like George Harrison (If Not For You), Lou Reed (Foot of Pride), Eddie Vedder (Masters of War), Johnny Cash (It Ain't Me Babe).
Not one of his best or original tunes, it can be a drag, but it also can be very compelling when performed by so many top musicians... please don't stop...
I saw Bob Dylan at The Orpheus in Omaha, NE in the 90s. The Orpheum is one of those Great Grand Dames of Turn of the Century Theaters as in 1800s to 1900s that’s been-historically preserved with acoustics that matched the quality of Bob’s voice at the time.
And Paddy, Bobby, Liam Clancy and Tommy Makem were there. I see em. One of the best music gifts I ever got. The fizz of the Foster's is calling. I can hear it across the table. Like Rice Krispies.
You can hear Claptons Hybrid Stratocaster with the most powerful mid boost system that exists. Sounds exacly like a Les Paul. Clapton was going to leave Fender in 1982 because he was not fond anymore in the single coil Fender Stratocaster he started playing in 1973. His main guitar 1963 to 1966 was the Fender Telecaster. Between 1967 and 1973 the Gibson Les Paul. It was as late as 1973 he started with Stratocasters. Though he has used a Telecaster on every album from 1963 to 2021. Some times ( 1963 to 1966) on all tracks on the album. After that he used the Telecaster for 2 songs sometimes a lot more per album. As Eric Clapton Said ” I buy and play Telecasters all the time” ” The Telecaster is in my DNA” and Off course it is if its the guitar you used as a main guitar for 3 years. He continued to use the Telecaster live untill 1989. 3 tours in the seventies he used the Telecaster as his main guitar. As Stated Clapton was dissapointed with the Stratocaster and was going to sign up for a St Louis company making Humbucker guitars in 1982. Then Fender steps in with the big wallet and Clapton cant resist the money. However he firmly States he wants a guitar that sounds like a Gibson Les Paul if he wants to. With The mid boost curcuit that powerful it sounds perfectly like a Les Paul When playing it. However it has the worst Stratocaster sound I have ever heard. A Squire Stratocaster from Indonesia has more classic Stratocaster sound. However Clapton was No longer interested in the Stratocaster so he did not care.
@petegasper2806 Your ear being way better than mine, can you tell us about the sound starting near 4:05 -- I hear two electric guitars, but can't tell whose -- is it still Mr. Clapton, plus one other? And/or Mr. Young? What do you hear in it?

I've seen 90 percent of these guys. Some more than once. I grew up 20 minutes from Winter land and young's ranch in Woodside Ca. Used to sneak in to young's ranch and see his buffalos.
Clapton’s playing in the background is hauntingly beautiful!
Yea, he is playing just right, not too much, but not too little!
..but not for a neil young fan! neil young once said "i liked eric's playing"

Even with horrible video this is absolutely enthralling. What can you say. Magical.
WAY too many people up there doing nothing. 😞 Geez, give them some room to breathe!!
Always loved this chase between Neil's guitar and Clapton's response.
I can hear Eric clearly. Everyone else blends in. I wish I could distinguish Neil from the others.
YES Beach Gal😁
hate how clapton has to take over every inch he can with his cleanliness...Neil Young is much more emotional, simple, raw which suits the song itself

GREAT song , and great version. This was a GREAT concert and tribute. Saw it on tv and luckily recorded it. Thanks Bob
Wow...Bob sings so many different versions of his songs....it's quite amazing (and unique.)

Great passion from Neil Young too. Wish more guitarists would show that these days.
