Lol… There’s no such thing as a private armed security for the airlines. Air Marshals work for the U.S. government and not the airlines. Therefore, no Air Marshal would have prevented you from going back into the aircraft, especially at a foreign country and the aircraft door was opened. So I don’t know where this story comes from, but this is definitely NOT how Federal Air Marshals operate. Also, an Air Marshal would have never told you he was security for the airline. That’s the last thing they would say.
That's what I was thinking, this guy is so full of shit his breath stinks.. Air marshalls are not allowed to tell you who they are even if you "catch" them or point blank ask
Yeah it doesn't make sense to me either, I cant say he wasn't something else I don't know about but I know that is 100% not how an Air Marshal. Anyone with a little bit of time in the concealed carry world knew exactly were he was going when he started talking about the guy putting stuff in the overhead compartment, he would print or show the grip of his pistol from under his shirt which is something the Air marshal and under cover officers know so they get deep cover or below the belt line hostlers an normally carry a micro, sub or compact pistol in a I believe sub sonic 9mm or 380 non frangible round so they don't show. Also Air marshal are always on the plane before everyone else so they can 1 see the people as they walk in, 2 meet the flight attendants and captains an 3 to inspect the cabin for bombs, etc before take off. They also will not say they are security or even mention anything like that. They will have a cover if they even have someone to talk to anyway. A lot of times the get a seat to the selves and lets just say there is never just 1 air marshal.
Though the program is majority government funded, as far as I know air marshals that fly on El Al are airline employees rather than government. So technically speaking they do exist, and from what I understand are allowed to fly into and out of the US, but that is the only example I know of and definitely would not fit for this story. So yeah, 100% fake,

I once actually witnessed an Air Marshall do their thing. A woman was standing in the aisle and being disruptive. When she refused to comply with flight attendants ordering her back to her seat, I big guy in a suit got out of his seat and with an air of authority, used his bulk to force her away from the front of the aircraft and back towards her seat. He seemed well trained on how to handle the situation
That is so disrespectful to the woman. Where I come from, there would have been a dozen men jumping out of their seats to teach this rude peasant how to treat a woman. He sure would not have got off that plane in one peace. Which horrible misogynistic country was it?
I can guarantee you that you were NOT talking to a Federal Air Marshal. If anything maybe a contract security personnel. Way, way different in authority and skillset than an FAM. There are many, many private security personnel. In fact the U.S. certifies them for flights ✈️ around the world.

Never heard of “ Peter “ but he obviously should’ve been more careful not to display his firearm. Didn’t work for the TSA but was somehow apart of security? Weird because Air Marshals work for TSA. Anyway cool story mate.
Sky Marshals are fascinating people for the most part, but talking about guns to any security personnel outside of a party or other social gathering (especially in the carrying out of their duties) is not recommended. First, these people cannot be known to the entire plane. If you bring up his gun in conversation, people will overhear you and it can spread all over the plane in a half-hour’s time. They hear the word GUN and people notice. Their ears perk up. The person behind you may overhear and tell the person they're with and then it goes from there. That's why he cut off the conversation - because his career depended on it. Once he's made, he’ll be the first person who's taken out in a terrorist or skyjacking caper. And he’ll be useless to the company employing him. There's no doubt but that that he was sloppy. Former police officer and gun writer Massad Ayoob spends considerable time talking about not telegraphing the fact that you're carrying a gun in his articles and book, IN THE GRAVEST EXTREME (which I recommend, btw). Always be aware of your gun's position and guard its visibility to others. You saw the gun and immediately thought terrorist, and only later thought air marshal. If you had excused yourself and told the stewardess/steward, she/he would have either told you he was security or would have reported it to the captain. Bottom line, discretion. If someone overheard your talking about his job, and it got around the plane, and some bimbo decided to record him on her phone, then post it on TH-cam, his career would be down the proverbial drain. Just from an indiscretion, first on his part, then yours. You wouldn't be to blame; in our culture people are programmed to think gun, then bad or evil. But I'll tell you this, no one gets on a plane these days with a gun except security. Now if Bruce Willis gets on board, and it's the holiday season, that's different; get off the plane and catch a later flight.

Air marshals on planes but why not arm a few teachers in every school. Perhaps no one knows which teachers, which is part of the mystery. Just my suggestion

Not an air marshal. Doubt the US allows armed private security to be in US airspace, even on a foreign flight.
