our Lord inspired the bees, "Make homes in the mountains, the trees, and in the trellises that people put up, Then feed on every kind of fruit and follow the ways that your Lord made easy for you." There comes out from their bellies a drink of various colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed, there is a sign in this for people who reflect
Keeping bees in Ontario has been a bit brutal the last couple years, but with the proposed partial-ban on Neonics, it might get a bit better. Good luck with your top bar hives!
Once you move the hive to their new permanent place. How do you keep them from swarming out of the box? I just recently did this, I have the Queen (I was able to spot her) but after a day, the hive left the box and they are in an avocado tree in my yard. Before I retrieve them AGAIN I want to make sure I did everything right. I have a deep box with about 6 frames with wax center, the original honeycomb inside the deep box and a sugar water feeder (so they have immediate food supply). Here is where I am confused, I left a small opening in the box so they can start to scout around, was this a good idea? I read that I was to keep them trap in the box for a day or two? (is this true) I need all the advised I can get. I'm in Sarasota Fl. (if this helps) Thanks
:-(, !st thing I'd say, is DON'T GIVE UP, and watch more vids about catching swarms, there are lots of tricks, but most say to LOCK them in once caught, for a few days... as just another viewer, I cannot offer suggestions, except, DON'T QUIT.... GOOD LUCK
Don't understand why you would play that stupid music while people are trying to hear you talk. Either play the music or talk, but not both at the same time. Very annoying.
Swarming bees are actually really easy to catch mainly because they kinda don't give a shit about anything outside of the swarm. its kinda cute actually.
Great find there Chris!
That will make a nice addition to your yard.

what's with the music
That is definitely cool, on a side note, the "fruit" of that tree ( fir, spruce? ) looks like jalapeno peppers.
What’s the price for that job
