    FYI, the button on the dash is not for the Automatic Headlights. It is a feature (that your QX80 rental had too) called Automatic High Beams. When the green light is enabled, set the turn signal to high beam and it will use the camera to see oncoming traffic, turning on and off the highbeams.

    I really liked the last generation Camry and am very interested in this generation. The SE seems to hit the sweet spot for all that I would need and want out of the car. Thank you for the practical and honest review.

    I just bought this car I am not thrilled with the key bob. My last Camry's key bob would open the door once i was near the car.
    I do not find the seats as comfortable as my 2010 Camry i miss not having a c.d. player.. But i love the smooth drive & All the safety features.

      Interesting I'm looking at upgrading from a 2010 to a 2020 with these great coronavirus discounts Toyota just announced. I do lots of long-distance driving so the 200k miles on my 2010 has me worried moving forward. I'm still gonna keep it as a secondary car.

    • @CityGuyGoesCounty
      @CityGuyGoesCounty 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @deadend Your right i was in a hurry because i had just sold my 2010 & needed a car . Next time i will take my time but i no longer miss not having a c.d. player because i learned how to use my phone for music 👍👍. I still think they cut corners on the interior though 😔 with the plastic grove box 🤔 also you cannot lock your trunk from the outside like in the 2010...

    I was never fond of the Camry, but the new one totally changes my perception of the Camry. I definitely want to rent one myself to check out very soon! It's the most powerful base engine in its class! :)

    What Camry is more fan to drive the 2016 or 2018 and has a better mpg... You make a review of both and give 4 stars. Thank you, great video and have a good day

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm horrible at comparing cars. I don't know how the "big reviewers" do it. I can barely remember driving the 2016 model. That was...maybe 60 cars ago? I usually rent about two a week and only post reviews of the new/interesting ones. I do like the 2018 quite a bit. The adaptive cruise control is just so interesting to use so, if I had a choice, I'd probably drive the 2018. How about you?

      I would get a camery over a Sentara.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I 100% agree with Ben. I'm not a huge fan of the Sentra...but that's just me. I'm not sure I'd buy anything from Nissan except maybe a Maxima.

    • @soflokia9984
      @soflokia9984 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100 Rental Cars I haven’t driven the Camry yet, my 2013 sentra is at 46k Miles now, but I’m moving to Florida which will put it well over 50k so I figured it’s not a bad time to trade in. I tested a 2017 sentra SV the other day they had marked down for $13.4k so I figured that’s pretty fair. Might want something bigger for the next car however.

    • @soflokia9984
      @soflokia9984 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ben Dunn haha yeah, I have a 2013 sentra now. Not sure if I wanna stay economical with the Sentra or go bigger.

    • @DREASAK
      @DREASAK 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My prius eats 2 quarts of oil every 1000 miles and mpg have never been over 42, not mentioning its constant rattle from every corner of the interior, and it's not even 100k on the clock yet. F..k the economy, I go for Accord. Or Camry, not 100% sure yet :)

    Too nice for a rental. Clearly you don’t kno the 4 banger in this Camry is the most powerful base engine in it Class.
    But I do love the way his car looks.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Nope, I didn't know that. I honestly don't know much about cars. I'm trying to learn, but there's so many vehicles and so many variations. Plus, I only have a few days with each rental which just isn't enough time to become an "expert". Anyway, thanks for the comment. Critical comments like yours really do help me get better at this. Keep 'em coming!

    Nov28-2018 cc Researching cars, '18 or '19 Camry currently on top of my list ... BUT, base model L lacks many things, has one wide rear seat back, 60/40 split seats come standard on higher trim but has 16" 205/65R16 high profile tires, preferred. LE has electric lumbar support for driver not seen on L.
    LE is a consideration, more standard features, but has 17" 215/55R17 low(er) profile tires. The SE has more features but with 18" 235/45R18, low profile. Tires are $45 more expensive, stiffer ride.
    Agree, radio panel is not attractive, bland but functional. I'm doing an extended test drive in 2 days, take the car mid afternoon and return it after dark so i can see lights and features.

      jB Tejero The lexus is350 and gs350. If you go for the Lexus is250 go for year model 2014 and up. The camry is also a good bargain but not as exciting to drive as the lexus are.

    I am sure the DOT does not appreciate the blast off on their scale. They have to re-calibrate the scale to make sure it reads weights properly for the big trucks.

      Xse is more expensive. Always remember the more options the more than can break in the long run! Less is more in my opinion and you can’t beat 28 mpg city!!

    “203hp out of a (n/a) 4cyl is not that great?”

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that probably wasn't the best choice of words. Although, I guess it depends on what you're comparing it to. The 2018 Camaro has 275 hp; the 2018 Audi S3 has 292 hp; and the 2018 Mustange EcoBoost has 310 hp. All are 4-cylinder engines. I agree they're not apples to apples comparisons, but you CAN get more than 203 hp out of a 4-cylinder. ...can you imagine a Camry with 310 hp?!? Now that could be fun! Here's the source of my hp info: www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/g6664/most-powerful-four-cylinders/?slide=1 Fun article if you're interested.

      @alivedadi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @100 Rental Cars You're totally taking fuel efficiency out of the equation. 203hp out of 4cyl with such an impressive MPG isn't that great?! really? Camaro and Mustange fuel efficiency don't even come close to that of this car.

    You have 3 options for engines in all trims but the XSE I think( the inline 4 and V6) the SE can have the inline 4, the hybrid and the V6. All trims can have those options

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? Makes sense. I got my info from Toyota's website. When you "build" an SE, they only give you the option for the 2.5L 4-Cylinder. I'm going to check again to be sure. Thanks again for the info Ben. Much appreciated!

    • @616civicmt8
      @616civicmt8 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      100 Rental Cars You’re right, you can’t get any engine you want in any trim. Toyota’s site is right, you have to step up to higher trims to get the V6

    • @elliekim6666

      100 Rental Cars strange, my local one only has dodge chargers as fcar... anyway, you should do a hybrid or a subaru if possible 👍

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes to both! I've actually rented 250+ rentals since I started doing this (I don't post videos of every car) and in that time I've only had one hybrid. My local shop just never has them. Maybe it's time for me to go elsewhere? And as far as Subarus are concerned, I'd LOVE to drive one, but I've never seen one on any rental car lot. Ever. I wonder if a dealer would lend me one? I'm not exactly a big TH-camr, so I assume they'll just laugh me out of their shop....

      Yeah, it's a rental and it's pretty common for them to be slightly dirty. It actually doesn't look THAT bad in person, but the camera highlights all the little specs of dust. Plus, since I'm paying to rent the car, I just can't bring myself to clean it for them.
