Great video, very detailed and to the point! And 1 question. I know that some water drains down through the frame rails from the upper cowl areas. How do you compensate for the water draining from above? There are holes in the factory rails.... And definitely keep the Fox parts coming!!

So your video say to have the rear end supported and the rear lower control arms but you have to remove the rear lower control arms to install, so do we just support the housing at that point and let the rear end hit the bump stops or do we put jackstands in the back on the frame rails?
I see you are doing a series of short tack welds when joining the thick subframe connectors to thin panels. Do you use a smaller MIG wire like 0.023 due to thin floor pans or do you use 0.030 due to the thick connector?
We use 0.032 MIG wire in our machines, but we use short stitches to keep heat from the thin sheet metal on the floor pan. It is important to aim your weld towards the thicker metal on the subframe connector.
Am I correct to say that I won’t have to cut into the lower torque boxes? I have aftermarket ones already installed and to me it looks like the rear frame connector just welds you the side?
Duane, installing subframe connectors in the car is not something that we would do here at Detroit Speed. We mainly focus our Project Shop hours towards full builds. The subframe connectors can be installed in roughly 24hrs, this is dependent on vehicle condition and installers skill level.
How do you figure? You want everything to be snug not sloppy. A snug fit will make everything more rigid and its a foxbody these damn things are like beer cans anything you add to them structurally will not hurt them

We haven't really experimented with that, but a relief hold could be drilled into the replacement connector.

Would like to see a jacking rail developed for the foxbody convertible. It should be strong enough to jack the car up using the middle of the rockers.

We are currently working through finalizing design for rear suspension before we move onto the front.

Foxbody floor pans are 20ga steel.
It just keeps getting worse! Anytime you have to cut, hammer to install a fabricated part you bought junk.
