Recently, it was revealed that a multitude of Disney Animated Films would be getting major sequels on both the Disney and Pixar fronts. These of course include Toy Story 5, Frozen 3, Inside Out 2, and the subject for today’s video… Zootopia 2. With the movie so far away, it’s hard to guess exactly what’s going to happen in everyone’s favorite animal metropolis. But we can still speculate.

I think Zootopia 2 should focus more on Nick as the main character and how being a cop changes him. We get to find out more about his past including his parents and the antagonists are predators who want to weaponize NightHowlers for themselves to take.
I’d love for Nick to be the protagonist in the next movie
Even though the biggest thing people are hoping for in Zootopia 2 is for Nick and Judy to have a canon Romance (Which i would like to see too) chances are they most likely won't do that and if they considered doing it the closest thing they'd probably give us is scenes where Nick and Judy talk like an married couple. and plus i'm not sure if Disney would go the route of having Zootopia's citizens arguing over civil rights issues involving mixed species relationships.

Oh great the "I Will Survive Logic" where Judy explained about mixed relationships and species between Herbivores, but never been mixed breeds between Herbivores and Carnivores.
Even without the romance, I can imagine Judy and Nick becoming adoptive co-parents (i.e. interracial adoption) like Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson in _Elementary_ (2012-2019).

I'm expecting/hoping the developement of Judy and Nick's friendship into official Wildehopps relationship 🐰❤️🦊... but I would actually like the idea of the focus on Nick too, for more about his past life and the secrets behind his father... In fact, Ginnifer Goodwin, Judy Hopp's voice actor, mentioned that she’d like to see a role reversal between Judy and Nick in the sequel. “I would like to see Nick have to be the one to convince Judy that the world is worth fighting for,”

I don't know, I mean the movie was perfect the way it was. But maybe it would be good if we focus more on the city, maybe explored it more, I like to know more about it. Also, there was a fan film called Return to Zootopia. You can check it out, it's a fan-made but it's alright, although it mostly focuses on Nick and Judy's relationship and they're being a couple.

Honestly I was thinking they could bring back Nick's wild times theme park idea! Or have the new villian use those predator "taming" collars. It would be dark for sure but still really cool.
I definitely think they tackled racism perfectly without it just being some sort of propaganda, as it was also a really entertaining movie and was actually a family movie at the same time. Hopefully the sequel won’t just be propaganda, and will actually be a movie that’s entertaining with commentary on similar topics!
I think that the sooner the child learns about dark things, the better. I highly recommend having your children watch movies like Zootopia, Tangled, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lilo & Stitch, etc.

I would love a small side plot seeing Nick going home to see his mom as a cop and her showing that she's always been proud of him no matter what
I'm definitely down to see a Zootopia sequel. So far in 2022 Disney hasn't been at its best lately from their other film successor DreamWorks beating them in the box office last year, but let's hope that they can get their grind back. Of course my favorite character from Zootopia Benjamin Clawhauser will have plenty of more great moments if a sequel is going to be in production soon. Judy, and Nick will have more fun adventures together as cops. Also that minor bear character will probably get more screen time hopefully with him not being a savage who was tranquilized with the night howlers serum.
Let’s see their lineup of works this year
- a pixar movie with an unlikable protagonist with cringe humor and …. twerking
- a bad marvel show with an unlikable protagonist and twerking
- a mid Disney woke movie disguised as a science fiction film
- a bad Pinocchio remake that is somehow worse than the Gay Pinocchio movie

my take on Zootopia 2, would make the city itself the villain
it would start with Judy and Nick investigate a bunch of mysterious, graffiti eyes all over the city
eventually they find the one who did it, a Komodo Dragon who was able to sneak into the city
he would point out the flaws of the city to the outside world, with his main point being that the city is mammals *only* (and not even all mammals)
Judy and Nick will not arrest him, cause he did not cause big crimes, just graffiti in safe places
Judy and Nick now have to talk with the mayor (could be Lionheart or a new mayor (but i think it would be fun to have an arctic fox there for Nick to crush on)) and find out on how to make every kind of animal legal in the city
I could see the sequel as an opportunity to use deleted characters.
WildeHopps being finally confirmed in the upcoming sequel would've been amazing :D
But, Zoot totally deserves a sequel. I want more of this beautiful world; meet more new characters; explore other previously unexplored parts of the cities. Man, there's so much that can be done with this.

I was kind of expecting a theory on Judy and Nick’s relationship
If they end up diving deeper into Nick’s past and talk about his family, I would LOVE it if Nick mentioned his “ancestor” Robin Hood (as in, the protag from Disneys animated 1970’s version). It’s been confirmed that Nick’s design was inspired by Robin Hood from that movie but I think it’d be really cool if there was more of an in-universe connection.

Sentences American Dad Characters For Their Crimes
Mayor Lionheart is my favorite character in Zootopia, hands down!!! Concerning with him, it’s just a absolute crime that he went to jail, let alone the fact that we didn’t get to see what happened to him at the end of the movie, we don’t even know if he gets released or not. The only thing we see of him is him inside his prison cell reading a catalog. That’s rather disappointing since as mentioned before, it’s a complete crime that he didn’t get a proper conclusion despite the fact that he DID indeed commit a crime himself which was false imprisonment on the savage citizens/predators, but Lionheart ultimately meant well, and his heart was in the right place, he didn’t want anyone being harmed by the savage animals and wanted his citizens and the savage animals to be protected and secure. Lionheart even had a point for being concerned for his public image (despite how self-absorbed that sounded) cause after all, he is a lion, and it’s highly likely he would have gotten major scrutiny for being the mayor of Zootopia who also happens to be an apex predator during an ongoing investigation where citizens are going savage and most of the population is in fact, mostly made up of prey instead of predators. Lionheart is someone who is likely to be a easy target and can go savage himself by Bellwether and the night howlers just because he is a predator, which most of the population is made up of prey, so people would have been worried or would even find the idea of having a predator as a mayor reprehensible. Even though that doesn’t end up happening and he gets framed for Bellwether’s crimes, at the end of the day, Lionheart protected the city and should be given more credit then he deserves for his overall character and intelligence as well. #justiceforlionheart ☺️☺️☺️🦁🦁🦁♥️♥️♥️

I'm surprised one of the theories wasn't Nick and Judy's budding romance! Their chemistry in the first movie was so beautiful, and it felt very likely that this would lead to a romantic development. Even though it's hard to believe that Disney would do that because it's impossible in the real world for a fox and a bunny to mate. But I believe this would lead to a connection with the issues in our society, like same-sex marriage or interracial marriage and how the world views them. That could be a big theme for the movie of Nick and Judy, going through the debate of "interspecies romance," which could be a big lesson for adults and children that love has no boundaries. There’s no prejudice or judgment about it. A good lesson about love and relationships.

If I remembered correctly (please let me know if I’m wrong) it was about Nick and Judy solving a case that might have been outside of Zootopia in a city featuring mostly Australian animals? I think there was a climax where Judy got knocked off a bridge or something fighting the big bad but was okay and the case was solved?
EDIT: The book was called "The Stinky Cheese Caper and other Cases from the ZPD Files". It was focused on a place called Outback Island

Years ago the creator of Zootooia hinted on the possibility of making a spin-off movie featuring islands of birds and reptiles since they were left out of Zootooia. It would be pretty interesting to see how the mammalian animals will react to two other species of animals.

My Ideas for Zootopia 2: Be Focusing on Judy Hopps and Nick Wildes Romantic Relationship Could Introduce a New Character we never see any Monkeys,Fish,Dogs or Cats in Zootopia so maybe they could show in Zootopia 2
For Zootopia 2, I hope to see :
1 ) Judy and Nick fall in love 😍 ❤ ( maybe they will be married in a third movie ).
2 ) New villains to fight Judy and Nick. Why not a secret group how conspires to eliminate the predators ?! And the twist : their boss is a predator who manipulates his henchmen to take power.
3 ) The return of Bellwether. She was a member of this group. After failure of his mission, she's become a target, and she decides to help Judy, in exchange for his protection...and begins his redemption.
4 ) Easter Eggs : Judy and Nick are the descendants of Skippy and Robin Hood.

y’know something similar related to interspecies relationships was done by the creator of the “beastars” manga, which in my opinion is a masterpiece. I know that Disney could never make something similar, partly because beastars is dark and "for adults," but in my opinion the concept could be exploited well to further deal with the theme of racism, already well evident in the first zootopia film, towards predators (if one also considers the original storyline, which was discarded). Then there was supposed to be in the original script a scene in which Judy's parents asked their daughter if Nick was her boyfriend, so romance had already been contemplated... and finally... come on, everyone is "drooling" over Gazelle despite being different species. What harm can a fox and a rabbit do together? It would be sooo cute for me🥰😅 of course I’d still love my favorite Disney couple even if they don’t end together, but I think that most of the fandom wants them to be together

1. Hate it. Why would Lionheart escape? He'll get a reduced sentence and be let out on parole eventually, but his career is officially in the toilet.
2. Meh. Depends on how she returned. For a cameo or because Judy needs information from her, maybe. But nothing more than that.
3. Love it.
4. Bringing in Nick's dad would only work in my mind if they took a page out of the original plotline of the film. Nick's dad in that version was an entrepreneur, and because he was a predator (and a fox to boot), he was arrested and falsely imprisoned to prevent him from achieving his dream. Let them keep that, and have the crumbling of Nick's family be the result of depression stemming from that false imprisonment. Nick's father was branded an ex-con, couldn't get a job, and eventually fell into alcoholism and became estranged from the family. He then becomes a convenient target for someone wanting to frame another mammal to cover their tracks. And Nick isn't 100% certain he even wants to prove his dad's innocence. He knows his dad's problems aren't completely his own fault, but some of them are. His decisions are still his own, and they still had consequences for his family.
5. Hate it. Mr. Big is the founder of Little Rodentia (which he could've named for his species but didn't), and because they have no law enforcement in their district, he's had to become both de-facto mayor and law enforcement of his little town-within-town. That's why he's regarded as a mob boss. So he's not evil and wouldn't need to blackmail Judy, the godmother of his grandchild. More likely what he would do is ask Judy to oversee a police training program for Little Rodentia so that he can take a step back and no longer have to be judge, jury and executioner to keep his district safe. Mr. Big is also an example of Disney NOT villainizing a venomous animal for a change, and I want them to keep it that way. Morally good venomous characters are rare in media.

9. Like it, but I don't want anything but mammals to be sapient. It could break the worldbuilding. Now, Zootopia is supposed to be semi-canon compatible with Robin Hood, which has sapient reptiles and birds. But this is a point where I would want Zootopia to break with that tradition, because Zootopia's worldbuilding simply does not allow for the suspension of disbelief that Robin Hood requires and pulls off flawlessly. Non-mammals can be present, but they should be regarded as wildlife, food or pets. What I would LOVE to see is wolves keeping pet ravens, and corvids in general being domesticated the way we domesticated dogs. Let the rhinos also keep oxpeckers as their pet of choice. Give Officer McHorn a pet oxpecker that he's very fond of.

Inputting 2020 stuff is the biggest fear I have. It's one thing to have minor moments that lightly allude to real-life stuff, but anything from 2020 would be awful regarding the story and visual escape. We already have enough politics and bad news shoved down our throats, we don't need any more in places we go to escape.

My prediction is that they will touch the subject of their relationship as a side plot, and will have another case or mistery to be the main focus.
I think in this way the film would feel more balanced.
I'm only okay with the idea of the sequel being more about Nick than Judy, but on the other hand it could get interesting for a good 2-hour sequel. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Commentary of The 2020's: Mixed Feelings
There’s something I don’t understand: We don’t see much flying animals (Like birds) in the first Zootopia. We should maybe show at least, one bird in the second movie. The role in the movie as well as his/her/its/their relationship with Judy and Nick doesn’t matter (Duh, it’s Zootopia, not Star Fox!), but it needs a major role.
Someone else suggested the birds fly planes, as we haven't seen much planes in the zootopia universe. It would be hilarious if BIRDS were the pilots
It'll be nice to talk about You Think You Can Prance, The shipping short, their relationship is barely close to couple standards, but I want to see their relationship grow more on top of that

Honestly? I would love it if the sequel had an Opposites theme in terms of the characters by having Nick (Fox) as the main character in contrast to Judy (Rabbit) from the previous film and sticking to the theme, it can have a Wolf as the main villain since they are the opposite of a sheep (Bellweather).
Zootopia had a Prey Main Protagonist and Villain (Rabbit and Sheep)
Zootopia 2 could have a Predator Protagonist and Villain (Fox and Wolf)
It fits as well as the heroes and villains are opposite to eachother in terms of the Prey/Predator dynamic.
Regardless whatever storyline Disney have planned for the sequel, I think one thing is clear, everyone wants to see Judy and Nick closer than ever before! Hope it's worth the wait, it's been 8 years already, and we all egar to return to Zootopia asap! Can't wait to see the first trailer!

One idea that I believe is worth bringing up is the return of the tame collars (neck collars that predators wore to monitor their temper with a controlled shock). I know that they were scrapped for a reason, but hear me out. The reason why they were scrapped from the first movie is because it painted Zootopia as this bleak place of injustice, but now that we're introduced to Zootopia from a far more optimistic point of view, I believe that you could fit the tame collars into the story as a temporary thing (either influenced by the villain or some other insightful incident) without getting the audience to hate the world. Next, I believe that it would be nessersary because one of the issues that the movie is going to HAVE to address is police brutality, as the problem has risen into the spotlight since the original's release, and failing to address this may lead to critisisms and/or accusations of "copaganda." The writers woundn't need to have Nick and Judy quit the police force to give commentary to the issue, but they would need to critisize excessive force as a solution when dealing with minorities, and having the predators wear tame collars would illustrate the point that they are being unfairly targeted with extreme measures for being predators, which arguably takes the prejedice theme of the original to it's logical extreme. I'm not saying that this is something that MUST happen, but it should at least be talked about, and in my opinion, it would be a very brave move if the creative team did decide to revisit the tame collars for the sequel.

I agree Bellwether was one of the few twist villains that was pulled off not only correctly, but perfectly. However, part of what made her such a good twist villain, was just that. She was a twist villain, one that we didn't expect, but on a rewatch of the movie, you could probably see coming a mile away.
It's would be better as series, they already have a sequel on a book and its very interesting see like an episodes

What something I hope we see in Zootopia 2: More groups of other types of animals *other* than Mammals.
This was something that always had me curious for the first movie. Zootopia only had Mammals as the main focus. But what about animals like reptiles and birds? Why is it that they never appear or are even mentioned?
I doubt anyone even asked for a Zootopia sequel (the same for Inside Out).
Fans have been wanting a sequel for Zootopia for years and I could imagine the same for Inside Out.
I asked for both (for years)
People have been asking for a sequel since the first film was released! Go and read old news reports and forums if you don’t believe it!
You know, the more I think about it...I think Disney actually can tackle a lot of modern issues while still keeping true to the original story/themes. While also keeping them kind of subtle or just having them work for the story.
Every modern day issue is still based on one uniting factor: prejudice/racism (the film's main theme)
-Cops (white cops specifically) beating on/killing black and Hispanic people -- based on racism
-Woke culture, a rebellious solution to racism based on personal resentment that creates new racism/prejudice and unfortunately sets minorities back and makes them look bad -- based on racism
-Systemic racism, based on a primarily white fear that minorities will take control of the US in time and must therefore ensure that they remain in line and their countries poor so it never happens, in line with the great replacement theory (basically what Bellwether wanted to achieve in the first film)-- obviously based on racism
Literally every big issue we have right now, particularly in the US is based on some form of racism/prejudice. Or you know, some irrational fear or distrust based on the fact that we refuse to simply get to know each other and remember that above all else, we are individuals and should be judged on that. Not scooped up and generalized as all thieves, terrorists, or this and that.
So personally, I think Zootopia 2 can cover all this by yes,
1) Making Nick and Judy a couple (the world and the US seriously needs some unity right now)
2) We see the film primarily through Nick's POV, where we and Judy learn more about his past. Maybe have a line where he briefly mentions that whenever there was trouble in his neighborhood, the cops would ignore it or acted more like whoever called was the actual guilty party. (FYI: this isn't wokism, this is an unfortunate issue that many minorities do have to deal with)
3) Maybe the main villain is a corrupt officer, like a famous chief of police that did something amazing and Judy admires him. But we realize that he's pushing nighthowlers along with another mob (not Mr. Big's) and he and his main officers purposely allow it because they want predators to be weak. Or if he's a predator, then maybe he's resentful and wants prey to suffer. And of course, to ensure that unnatural couples like Nick and Judy never see the light of day.
-This would allow Judy to become disillusioned, particularly now that she has feelings for Nick. But Nick reminds her that for mammals like them, they should keep fighting.
That or maybe a new mayoral candidate is in danger because he wants to legalize pred/prey marriages and somebody wants him dead because of that? I don't know.
Just my two cents and you can have some good storytelling while keeping in line with the main theme of prejudice/racism.

Only if they show why that happens in a way that isn't biased.

I like that idea, but only limit his circle to a very few officers, and make him a predator. This would be a good lesson to show that anyone can have hatred in their hearts for others and that no amount of tragedy should ever excuse someone from harming the innocent.

Kyle, I already made a sequel for two opening. The Zootopia 2 opening scene, and a tease possible on what the opening could be like. Spoiler for the first few minutes of the opening.
But Judy doesn’t know that she’s becoming sick, so Nick has to chase down the bad guy. And that’s the end of my first few minutes of the opening. Possibly more could happen when the animals of Zootopia become sick so it’s up to Nick and Judy to find what is causing it. But not knowing that Judy’s parents are the victims of the plot with Doug the ram, and Bellweathers plan to actually Eliminate everyone in Zoptopia.
