I can't wait to pull off drive-bys with ASol's rework then skedaddle back into my lane
After some brief jungle tests... He will actually be extremely viable. If you execute camps with E, you get stardust. 1 for small, 5 for large, 4 for scuttle, 10 for dragon/rift... This can get you around 20-30 stardust on your first clear which is insane!
Edit: E can also hold dragon/rift in place
i hope he's better in jungle because his poking in lane isn't that great
@@janbertguerrero6988 I don't think he will be a poke champion anymore, he will be like press EQ on wave, clear it, fly away, repeat. At least in perfect scenario.
I heard from LS' video on it that he wasn't mainly designed to be a jungler. To hear that he at least is viable there is great news.
His clear isn't very fast tho, his ganks are horrible and his early skirmishing power is low. I don't think he'll be played in jungle at all.
@@tim..indeed A season ago this would have hit harder. With mana regen and reduced damage on taking enemy camps (invades nerfed). Still below average D+ to maybe C+ range

I tried to main him because i really like his cosmos abilities. But Q does not feel right at all! But now I can finally enjoy him.
And as I was saying for a long time "Aurelion is best for jg" Finally Riot sees that people pick him in lanes and made the reworks to let us know that he IS a Jungler!

I can't help but see how many people I can annoy with the shock wave + liandry's anguish by canceling their recall I know the ult is not spamable but im gonna try to build maximum cd build as I can on every game I play him
You need to collect stardust to get the mega ult. The designer said from the interview you can use it atleast 3 times per normal length game

@@JohnPaul_kun but you cant. not only does the shockwave rely on the ult being up, you also need to farm the 75 stacks after every ult cast! it doesnt transform forever to the shockwave ult like syndra and kaisa upgrades. you have to collect it all over again every time. building max CDR wont increase your stack collecting, thats what spellcaster meant to say

I can see his new Q is the successor of his W. While I love the current W because it's really unqiue. It fits more for battlemage and Asol is more of a control mage.
His new W is absolutely beautiful and allows him to have more application. His current flight is only good to set up your Q or to retreat. But it has really high cooldown so you have to be mindful about using it. Plus the way he turns around my God. The animation looks gorgeous and makes him more lively if that makes sense.
His new E looks like a good replacement of current Q. Though for this one, it's a really good spell to farm Stardust or deny an area. I love ability that is simple but has many applications.
The ultimate is the cherry on top. The shockwave even disturbs jungle monster. It "projects" this powerful fantasy that his star descending waking up everyone. And if you get hit by its impact, good luck lmao.
Overall, I feel like this rework is really really good at translating his cosmic dragon fantasy. He's not only functioning closer to a dragon but he's also more destructive with these new spells. I love it so far. I avoid talking about Stardust mechanic because it's the most normal looking passive. But for positivity sake, it feels like Asol is reclaiming back his power. The scale might be small but remember, that is to Asol. For others, it would be massive power growth.
Okay Imma stop now or else this turns into an essay. TLDR, this rework looks promising and every abilities reflect his design + lore better. I'm looking forward to it

To be honest, I wish they kept the 3 stars as part of his passive along with all these rework. Yeah the new kit is better but the 3 floating stars does look cool.

I like his new Q, it replaces his stars as an extended trade tool and will be just as oppressive as his stars, albeit less fun to use
W is just his old E with a reset.
His new R seems like a ton of fun to use, and I'll take it any day over his old R.
However, his new E being sustained damage is a waste, and the execute will be another 200 years mechanic that has nothing to do on the champion.
I'm an old Asol main, I was thinking yesterday how much fun it would be if "Singularity" was a slowing zone. It would have multiple charges, and would deal no sustained damage, but would instead explode after 2ish seconds. That way, you can deny areas while ganking and it would be a fun jungler control mage. I still really like how it drags enemies!
he needs the damage from his e because his q doesnt go through minions, i tried playing him in practice tool and clearing waves with his q isnt enough at all, but using e helps alot!
If my Asol suddenly becomes an AP jungler I will cry
Looks like e is there for some little cc to set up the Q and Ult, while also helping with early wave clear because of it.

Thank you for actually doing a break down of his abilities and stats. Now that Surrender at 20 is defunct, this is the only way players can learn of PBE changes.
My probably unpopular opinion that no one cares about:
Honestly, i don't know if we can call it Aurelion Sol anymore. Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing, but it's simply not him, he has lost everything that makes him an unique champion, and now he's simply a late game burst mage. It's a whole other champion, just the same appearance.
Anyway, I'm not an Aurelion main, even though i enjoy playing him. On the other hand, I'd hate if one of my mains had all it's abilities completely changed.
Welcome to virtually almost every champion "rework". Just be glad he didn't get the QQtrox treatment, lol.
Aurelion mains aren't too affected. You see, when it first came out or course we're sad but quickly accepted it. Of course there are still few people sad about it but it's for the better. Since you've played aurelion you'll understand how strong he is despite the constant nerfs. His kit was just hard to balance. Though I personally believe they could have balanced it without rework.
Strictly speaking VISUALS - he LOOKS weaker. The champion identity has been completely lost as you rightly point out. He looks clunky, awkward to pilot, and just visually awful compared to before. Hope ASOL players have some fun with him though, can't wait to get dove botlane by this shit.
@@Spellbook Yeah, i feel you. As a Taliyah main, even when she as in limbo she was still extremely toxic to play against, the same way as AuSol, except that he was a bit less toxic.

If soraka can JG then a dragon with a real wave clear could. Especially with the pets, jungling is so much easier.

@Janbert Guerrero I say green smite, red is OK but considering A Sol is a battle mage that should probably be building ROA and Seraphs that extra shielding from green smite would allow him to stay in and Q for longer thus stacking his damage more, he doesn't need the move speed from blue smite since his W let's him just glide behind enemies and red smite would probably be good if you're going with a more burst build
I second green, he needs to survive. Seeing how close he is to the enemy and he doesn't really have stun for dashers that can leave his rell ult.
His damage looks good without the red smite, add liandry to that and you're golden.

The upgraded version is not permament, but you need to collect dust after each time you cast the normal version ultimate?

Came here to learn about stardust gain on E, it's not working. I keep killing minions with Q while they're inside the black hole but not gaining anything. Do they have to be executed for the proc?
it would be funnier when the R had an infinit Scale like if you collect 1500 Stardust you can inpact the whole map.
i had 1000 stacks and it covered the mid lane from bush to bush
Apparently it does according to the interview, but he said that it's an *Area* increase not a *Radius/Diameter* so the bigger it is the slower it grows but of course it grows faster when it's small.

They literally gave him the Madara Uchiha finisher as the ultimate. (Tengai Shinsei- Heaven Conceal) now that makes so much sense as both Asol and Madara have the same voice artist, Neil Kaplan.

riot absolutely can't fucking even think about giving a spell only ONE effect, they really have to put crowd controls, max hp dmg, executions, scaling with passive, and all kind of stuff to ONE SINGLE NORMAL ability. Just to cry months after not being capable of balancing the champion. Yikes.
Really thought his empowered ult would stay unlocked for the rest of the game. Would need to see if 75 stacks is too long of a stretch before having the next big explosion
watched a gameplay of him, you can use it about 5-10 times or so, the cooldown of the ult can get up to 70 seconds so it gets easier to use that ult, get lots of stardust to empower the ult, then use it again a minute later

I've heard from the interview that the average stardust per game is 350 and he said that you will be able to cast the mega ult atleast 3 times per game.

His old kit also made no sense, he's a dragon that creates and destroys stars at a whim, a literal god, yet his entire gameplay consisted of him blow all cd's in a pathetic attempt to get people away from him so he can hoola hoop them to death. It was fuckign stupid
@@cosmicoandromeda7195 I feel bad for you as you're probably an asol main, but this rework can have so much power compared to the previous version. Being able to manually control and aim where your main damage ability goes is much better than using movement to control it (although, I wouldn't discount that old w being like that is really cool as it shows your true skill)

Q for 1 second does 110% AP which is increased to 132% AP ratio when in flight thats a little nutty.
It's on par with his orbiting stars right? Because I remember it dealing 25% per and if you hit 4 that's 100%. His W increases the damage by 40% too.

Oooough, so the massive ult is just 1 use per 75 stardust? That makes more sense than having that bomb for free after reaching 75 once.

The old Aurelion Sol is not bad in General, he just has some really bad weaknesses like that spinning stars not being hidden in bush, his Superb vulnerability to meelee attackers and assassins, and his very "unique" way of farming, which is not found in any other champs. But his strenghts are very strong. He can kill just by... doing nothing actually. Just W and go Bop Bop the enemies with Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Liandry's during teamfight and boom. A kill or two, even penta. His ganks are so strong too that's why some top 10 Global players are Aurelion Sol main. What killed him is when Riot decided to nerf his W. He just became useless and garbage worthy. Not very nice of Riot. Glad they did this rework for him. His lategame is super fun. Hope they don't gut him again
This is what I hate they shouldve kept the stars and work around that tbh. This is what made him really unique and it was so fun to kite with it. Didnt play in a long time and he was my fav champion.. actually sad
