- The DHL Stormers teamed up with some top artists earlier this year before the lockdown to record South African icon Johnny Clegg's 'The Crossing' at the Academy of Sound Engineering studios in Cape Town (www.ase.co.za). The team has sung this song in the changeroom after every match this season and took it to the next level with the help of some pros in this version. Have loved this song ever since I first heard it when it was released after the death of Savuka member, Dudu Zulu. It bings tears to my eyes every time i hear it. I was lucky enough to see Johnny live in Sydney Australia on two occasions. I cherish these memories. Guys, you did a great job with this tribute - and once again, it brought tears to my eyes.

Sung so beautifully and no disrespect to “Jonny Clegg” but I think they sung the song proudly. The Clegg family are not allowing the Stormers to use the song which is a pity. The funds raised from this song could be put to such good use. Some of these funds could be used to try help street children stay out of trouble and be taught to play a few instruments. I’m sure there are teachers that would not mind giving up an hour twice a week to teach these children. especially now that the economy is going to the dogs thanks to covid-19. These children will need all the help they can get. Everyone needs a helping hand at some point in their life’s. I wish the Clegg family would re-think their decision. Johnny Clegg was always very humble, never saw colour, or religion only saw music.
This is not true! There is a synchronisation licence agreement between WP Rugby and Johnny Clegg's management/publisher. The Clegg family has given this their FULL support. Jesse Clegg tweeted a statement on behalf of the family yesterday. All revenue from the song will go to the Clegg's chosen charity, The Click Foundation (www.clickfoundation.co.za).
