From my experience you’re safer when you ride alone. Travelling in group can get you out of your comfort zone and you might take chances you wouldn’t normally take.
I think riding with people is safer in every possible way.... what doesn't make it- is riding with shitty people or people you dont actually know and you try and fit in.... I ride with my cousin- my wife- his girl and 2 friends that I have known for over 15 years- I would HATE riding alone. Like playing a sport solo- wtf we even doing lol- meant to be enjoyed with others. No one I ride with- pushes anyone- does wheelies- burn outs- going kill yourself speeds- we just ride to enjoy the ride and enjoy each other. Bad riders ruin it for everyone.
The situational awareness of all these guys is hilarious. They move the bike off the road, park it one fucking inch from the lane of traffic...all while there is 2-3 feet available to the side. Props to the car that beeped their horn hinting for them to get off the fucking road. No wonder this shit happened. PSA...pay attention to your surroundings.
He tried pushing the blame on you? That’s crazy considering EVERYONE was braking. He should take notes on situational awareness. Immediately lane splitting when traffic is just slowing down is dangerous. Always slow down with the traffic and safely split after.
At least he was riding slowly and didn't cause too much damage to his bike. Beginner riders shouldn't lane split when trying to stay with their group. Just know where the next destination is located and you will all regroup.
Only has himself to blame...if he is a new rider he shouldnt even be on such a crowded highway, on a bike with mirrors you cant see out of at all....cmon, go get some experience before playing roulette on the highway. He is lucky that is all that happened. He should be glad he didnt damage a car or crack a case on his bike....it could have cost a TON more and he could have been hurt so much more. Yeah, it was basically a tip over, but I have seen so many like that where the motor case gets cracked or the rider breaks his ankle.... Other thing is to get away from the scene if you can, especially if no motorist is involved, as if Highway Patrol comes, they will give you a ticket for single vehicle accident....you need to move on if no one is hurt....
Thats what happens when you listen to your “friends” & instead of getting a smaller CC bike you get a powerful bike go group riding & lane splitting all as a beginner. Stop trying to look cool, go get some parking lot practice + an MSF course & learn the right way or learn the hard way, your choice…smh
This is why especially as a beginner I tried not to ride with some people. They'd take off and u don't know the road. U feel bad falling behind slowing people up. Sometimes I still tell people not I can't ride with ya I can't keep up lmao
I can only imagine how he feels. But try to switch down to a different model less CC till you practice and get the hang of things. Rules of the road #1
Cant blame you for that hes yhe one in control of the bike thats on him for making a poor decision probably based on lack of experience. Good to know no one got hurt although id get off the side of the road and find somwhere with less traffic before i start breaking it down. Some crazy mofo could come bareling down there and take you all out
He doesn’t know about staggering while following ☝️ never follow the same path as another bike always try to be on the other side of the lane that way you have an escape path if they suddenly break like this. But hey at least he’s got his first drop out of the way and now gets to learn how to replace fairings.
Who in their right mind would ride a bike as powerful as that as a beginner, stick to small bikes when learning then get a bigger bike as time passes. I still prefer smaller bikes around town.
First thing as a new rider he shouldn’t even tried that and the second you guys could look at the bike closer to the guard rail. You are too close to the road you might get hit. I’m glad he is ok though. Now go home and eat a big ass bowl of PHO 🍜.
Imma be the comment that says you learn from your mistakes don’t be so hard some very highly experienced riders have lost their life’s so let’s not be so hard you win some and lose some but betcha he won’t do that again. Lesson’s lessens chances of you learning from that lesson again lol ride save bro
This looks like WA state? If so I’m in WA Seattle. I was on a ride with my friend about a month ago, over on Ruston way he passed away on our ride look up “ Tacoma Washington motorcyclist dies “ you will see my black gsxr with white rims it’s a news clip I was talking to them.
Riding is dangerous enough but then you want to become totally dumb and do something to ADD to the danger?!?!?! From one biker to the world, stop being stupid. Its not worth it.
@@MotoPhoTrio I get that... i had a 2002 MV Agusta F4 750, riding it back to Newport News from Virginia Beach after getting a new set of tires installed. Traffic thru the HRBT was backed up to Granby (which if you don't know, is several miles, and could take 30-45 minutes of stop and go). I was watching the temp gauge on the bike, and when it started to get towards the red, I decided to lane split as far as I could to keep the bike from overheating. I lived in California for decades, so I was used to lane splitting, and did it without causing any drama to myself or the cars I was passing.
@@MavicAir1 Lane splitting helps motorcyclists reduce their risk of being rear-ended. They can slip from a stationary lane and flow forward between slow or stopped traffic. Plus, since a motorcycle occupies the same lane space as a car, it can help ease congestion. Motorcycles can get a bit hot when idling in traffic. Lane splitting lets them catch a breeze and avoid overheating. Studies show that lane-splitting motorcyclists are injured less frequently than non-lane splitters.

💯
I mean at least 1 person to 2 people is safer just in case you get hurt.
100000009% the only times I’ve almost wrecked are when I’m being followed or I’m chasing

Facts i rode alone for for like 7 months till i got used to my bike and learning techniques then i felt comfortable enough to ride with people
kinda funny how he pushed the blame on u, tell him to ride his own ride

Also group could have stayed off the highway and help him create good riding habits.
It's the riders own responsibility to stay a safe distance from anyone else, crazy how he blamed you for his crash.
Following too close. Hope he learned his lesson.
I'm just glad that everyone in the group is wearing proper riding gear. Also, L on the kid for blaming you with his shortcoming.

Hey can I use this footage on my social platforms, ill fully credit you let me know thanks!

"if you just kept going normal speed I probably would not have crashed " lol he is your boy you got to teach him
Was that a bad move to try and lane split????

Becareful brother and keep safety ride always..

Was he too embarrassed to pick up his bike?
Bro is like 80lbs post mcdonalds happy meal so i dont think he could have done it
@@Yakiniq-n7o 😭
And you go in the highway as a beginner rider...dumb idea.
Pull in the clutch if it's in gear. Quickest way to disengage so you can move it out of the way.
I'm not surprised. When a New Rider is on a 600 or 1000 they usually crash😂
hate when that happens . got to go slow to go fassst . be safe guys and hope you can get out some today
i think its better to start off on a dual sport. a nice DRZ400SM would be perfect
Traffic slowing. And he blames the dude for braking. Dumb. He shoulda seen traffic slowing and slowed as well.
matey must of banged his head harder than he thought, he had 3 business days to slow down enough and still crashed
A RANGER DON'T LEAVE MEN BEHIND..

Glad your ok and the bike. It could have been worse.

Need to lift some weights lol. That was a lot of noise getting that bike maneuvered.

Another example of why riding during the day, in peak city traffic, is a bad move. Way too many variables. Late night (after 12am) rides only, dude.
Hey! Would you mind if I used this video in my upcoming update? Thanks! :)

why is a beginner on a 600
who leaves their bike in the middle of a highway ?
🤦🏾

I'm pretty sure lane splitting isn't legal in VA...you need some new friends...
too hot out to be stuck in traffic

Lane splitting in stopped traffic is fine but on a highway your asking for trouble
