What a master of orchestration Ravel was. This piece is a very pianistic and yet he makes it sound like it was meant for orchestra. I love french impressionism so much.

yes, he composed the orchestral version in 1906: one year after his miroirs piano suite. he had a pattern of doing this with his most notable works
