You are a natural teacher. After looking at the second game I gave the jobava a whirl.. lichess 5+3 vs a 1900+ .. I did not play the best moves but got to sac a rook for a natural mating attack just as you suggested.. it was so natural, it flowed. Such harmony.
Ughh I'm obsessed with the Jobava now because of you Alex and i havent finished your London course yet (bought with full video). I'm going to have to just switch back and forth for 100 games each and see which one im playing better.
Alex my 🐐 just to let you know I recently bought your London course and I’m really enjoying it and learning a lot. Looking forward to the Jobava course
Had to pause the video towards the end of the second game against Minion73 - What an eye-opening, exciting game! You sold me the Caro Kann opening and I purchased the course with videos - but this opening for white - wow! Thank you for such fun, comprehensive and explanatory videos!!!
I'm pretty curious to know why in the position at 48:10 minutes Jobava tends to take with the c2 pawn. I guess it's a more positional approach, he gets a better control of the center (the pawn on d3 controls c4 and probably makes the e4 push even stronger)
as he mentioned in our calls, he likes to play for 'an improved version of the exchange Slav'. It's definitely viable, but bit more complex in my opinion.
I have is London course in Chessable (not Jobava London), it’s archived, but I will study it again. Thanks for the videos Alex, I was watching the whole day!
Always good to see your videos. I can enjoy a game of chess without going through the trouble of actually playing! Definitely a Jobava/Chigorin fan and definitely a Caro fan!
and just watched til the end, I'm happy for you. You work hard and deserve it and there's plenty of creativity in your videos that makes them stand out.
Question regarding black playing E5 on move two, it's not shown in Lichess data base. 1. D4 D5 2. Nc3 E5 What to do ? Take the pawn then give it back ?
2:17 One thing I’ve noticed in this position, is that if they go Nh5, it is actually best to go Nb5. Because Nd5 inadvertently protects the bishop that you want to hang. And I’ve noticed if I go Nd5, they might think for a second and see the coming # instead of taking the free bishop. But Nb5 always leads to Nxf4 which leads to Rd8# EDIT: at my elo at least 😅
It can be true but its hope chess, you are already winning doing the right thing so I wouldnt gamble getting hit by na6 and not being able to capture with the bishop...its explained in some other Alex's videos
@@AlexBanzea I know but they’re usually focused on taking my free bishop(especially in blitz) rather than defending mate a lot of the time. That’s only if Nh5. Everything else Nd5 is always the way
This is amazing content. Simple to grab with every move being walked through. (Unlike some people who just make things complicated and think their content is great :P . The roooooooooooook)
I have a question about game two. Why couldn't the black pawn take the Knight at the end? Sorry if I sound stupid, but I am lower level than what you call beginners! lol
i saw an IM get trapped by this pirc trap in a rating climb stream. but i think the position is not completely straight forward to convert because white is underdeveloped so he was still able to win. i think the problem with the trap is if your opponent is aware of it the positions aren't great for white.
I always try to play the slave defense, its similar to a reversed london system and has lots of similarities with the Caro kann, alex himself has some content on that, I would love to see more of it, since its my worst opening by far
Could you run us through the game plan after black plays the knight back to d7 to protect the checkmate. I know you still fork the rook but is there a quick checkmate that way too?
Thnx again for sharing this video. I love to play the ideas you’re sharing. Can you please put the game of jobava in the description like you said you would. I would love to see that game ☺️
Hey, loving the series. I have a question about the game against the Pirc, the move 5. e5 is great if black takes the pawn but everyone I face in the Pirc know to play Nh5 there after which white seems to just be down a pawn. Do you have a line vs that or do you recommend a different move than e5 against higher rated opponents/ in longer time controls? Thanks! ❤
Will there be an option to get the PGN files, because then we can make our own Chessable course? It is not the same, but I did the same with Naroditsky's Jobava course. Even if I hope this one will be more compact and more for (post) beginners.
tbf the king b8 top engine move after that pawn push and your rook retreating move was v fishy especially considering time managment. No way 1200 pushes for the pawn break and then decides to move his king (especially when there is no clear threats on the board at current moment).
its his job and his career, for us just entertaining and teaching for free, so as I see it he "mustn't" do anything, just what he think its best for him in this regard... I would love to see a video a day, but its so time consuming and not always possible
Game 1 vs. King’s Indian captures the feeling of playing Jobava London just a few years ago, when people would fall for the fried liver queen sac or knight a6 double pawn/shitty knight every game :D. Good times. I should probably learn to play real chess too now 😂
What's the difference between "join" and "subscribe"? I've subscribed to several interesting TH-cam channels including this one, but have not joined because I don't know what that means., Subscribing puts them my list so they are easy to find. What does "Join" mean in addition to that?
Was a little sus but sometimes when u lose one piece the whole position starts to unravel and fall apart and time pressure some people can’t play fast so idk could be a coincedence
The problem with that 4th game is we couldn't see the sweat coming off your opponents brow. You may have taken a few months off of his life expectancy.
Maybe they're different people, but I played a memorable csgo game against a minion73 like 7 years ago. Their profile pic was a minion dressed as Agent 47, and I thought it was hilarious, so mid game I changed my name to minion 47 and copied their profile pic. I found them on steam just now, and they still have the same profile picture. I really hope it's the same person lol
That last game I think your opponent was arguing with his girlfriend the whole game. It looked like a decent player who got distracted from the game at a couple of moments. It was definitely a very odd paced game.
Waitlist for my upcoming Jobava course: alexbanzea.com
When is your Jobava course being released?
Live games, instruction, analysis, sarcastic humour, this is all you need.
2 hours ago I was in Alex Banzea Jobava London withdrawal, I was wondering when the new video would be released. I'm so happy now
So cool that the jobava course is made with the real deal! super excited, congrats alex!
Is it out?

Working with Mr. Jobava himself. Thing of dreams. Good on you, Alex. You do well for the progress and “promotion” of the game of Chess.
Wow, so hyped for the Jobava course! Going to be an instant buy for me
Alex, love these videos man. They are appreciated. Great content 👍
Excellent video!I look forward to the release of your Jobabva London hopefully soon!
I too love all your videos Alex. You're a wonderful teacher and by far my most favourite. Great work
The bf5 variation is the single most likely game for me to screw up in the middlegame. Looking forward to the course release!
I play the Jobava religiously due to your teaching, you're the best out there in my opinion. 😊

You make really good videos! I laugh, learn and advance! What more could we ask for! Thanks for teaching!
That double c3 pawn situations been haunting me for a while now, literally first video i watched after my small chess break has it,very nice
Very easy to get rid of it or use to your advantage in this opening.

This got me excited to try the jobava sometime soon 😉
Do you have any estimate of when your jobava course will be out? I’m so excited
Do u have any course on jobavo?
Thanks Alex, I'll buy your course as soon as you launch it!
esti foarte tare, felicitari! si multa sanatate pisicii :)
Excited to see the new London course with our new buddy
More more more Jobava please!
Alex.....please.....what about your Jobava London course???
I'm literally in love with the pawn storm in the Jobava, such a powerful combination! Any plan to release a Jobava course on Chessable in the future?
Nevermind, just saw the ending of this video. I'm thrilled!! Thank you!
I have now used Queen trap on queenside several time, even caught a rook there in one midgame…THANK YOU! 👍🙏

Alex, would you consider filming a chess run with the Jobava London, against opponents from 800 rating to say, 1800 please ?
Congratulations on your arrangement with Jobava!

Try the Benoni! It’s fun and has some good attacking chances. Other good options are the Dutch or kings Indian defense

28:42 why couldn’t enemy queen just take your knight?

Two rooks are hanging and yet we don't even take them because we have mate in one. Jobava is great. Many thanks for sharing your chess wisdom Alex.
Yay Jobova London Course! LFG
best part of this video is the summary at the end!
Ouch. I play the Pirc/KID a lot and I’ve never had someone play that counter attack on me before. I would have walked right into it. Brutal.

Instead of 5. e5. Qd2 with long castle is what I have used lately. Also engine likes Nf3.
How do you respond to black 1st move e5?
Alex has a great video that includes this, Englund gambit
Thanks for the video. Could you do a video with some games against 1300 or 1700 bots. Thanks,
the course is not coming to Chessable, that's disappointing because there is no way to train it !
There will be probably in 6 months if I make my own thing

I thought so too...especially Nb4 played after 90 seconds was a big red flag
Kudos to Minion73, second game, he really played a great game. Very enjoyable because of the lack of blunders.
You must put a video on daily basis. Come on don't let us wait for a week.
Quit being so needy. Quality over quantity.
