Such a great idea for a video loved. Spied a travel set of 3 BDK scents, including GC - consider me influenced! Really enjoyed this video! I have about 4-5 dozen fragrances and I am always flitting between them. However, when I was younger, I would stick with one or two fragrances for a year or more, but now that I’m hitting 40, my nose is ever more fickle! What I choose for the day/occasion often is just a visceral reaction based on what smells best to me in that moment, i.e., I will absolutely love a fragrance one day of the week, and then a few days later be totally put off by it, or even feel sick from it, but then a few days or week or two goes by and I love it again. That’s why I have and keep so many. In sum, as much as I champion the approach in this video, I am far too mutable in my tastes and moods day-to-day, much to my chagrin.
This is perfect. I made this decision and only keep 10 in rotation all year round. I haven't found the perfect 10 yet that stops my eye from wandering but close. TFS!
As always, amazing content Josephine. My approach to this video: Everyday: Cedrat Boise - Mancera Office: Explorer - Montblanc Suit&Tie: L'Homme Ideal Extreme - Guerlain Date: Wanted by Night - Azzaro Cold weather: Homme Intense - Dior Hot weather: Pour Homme - Versace
Everyday scent: wood sage sea salt Evening: jo malone ginger lilly and dark amber Winter/autumn: gris charnel Summer & spring: Levant and Wood sage sea salt

What a great video idea! I tend to pick my scent of the day first and then the outfit...having a kind of capsule scentdrobe or wardrobe of scents seems like a crazy good and smart idea. I now know how to organize my perfume wishlist...thank you, Josephine! Love your work so much😊
I was holding my breath to see if you will chose Aerin hibiscus palm. I got it based on your videos and I love it long lasting and delicious 💕 great picks
I love this video! My go to perfume will be Pure Musc Narciso Rodriguez. Brand new in my collection but such a beauty My go out will be Lost Cherry Tom Ford Fall Winter scents will be Poison Girl Spring Summer Gucci Gardenia 2021. Those are first smells came to my mind but I have so many amazing perfumes. My all time favourite for now is Love don't be shy by Kilian. First approach for me with this perfume was not a love from first smell but after 1 h this becomes something incredible on my skin and clothes.
Gris charnel on me and my mom's skin fell short. Longevity and projection are very weak. On my skin and to my nose, it smells of a very ordinary chai latte with watered down milk and loads of cardamom. Meh. Aerin however, was a winner! Anyway, fantastic video. Great job Josephine 👍 Lovely outfit choices 👌
I really enjoyed this video Josephine! You have some lovely dresses and I’m so glad I already own all of the fragrances you mention except 1957 but I have smelled it and it’s so beautiful I’m not surprised you chose this one for your special day! 🤍 much love
In my case it is always 2 choices: Every day: Armani - Si/ Narcisio Rodriguez - Her Evening scent: Givenchy - L'interdit/ jean paul gaultier Clasique or Bella Fall/Winter Scent: chanel - mademoiselle intense/ Jo Malone - Mirra and Tonka Spring summer scent: Armani - Tierra Di Gioia / D&G Light Blue Formal Scent: Chanel - Mademoiselle/ Tiffany & Co. - Intense
I love Terra di Gioia as well! I never hear it getting talked about but I love the composition, how creamy and smooth it is. I recently found out I’m allergic to it though 😭 Have you smelled anything similar that has those lovely almond, white floral, and amber notes?
I know that it is too early for summer, but I finally pulled the trigger and ordered Hibiscus palm. I already have Vanilla vibes, so I am curious trying to layer them in the summer. Thank you for the video!
My capsule: Everyday: Peau de Peche - Keiko Mecheri Evening: Neverending - House of Oud Winter: Angel’s Share - by Kilian Summer: California Reverie - Van Cleef & Arpels Special Occasion: Atomic Rose - Initio Parfums
Loved this video! 💖 it's something very aesthetic with a limit and organization like this. Clothes and perfumes worked perfectly together, very inspiring!
My goodness this video is such an unexpected easy on the eyes balm! Such class and beauty, Josephine, wonderful! The concept of a capsule set of fragrances is also great even if challenging to think of, which those only 5 would/could be. Do you have such a capsule suggestion for men as well? Maybe you can consider both designers and a niche editions of such capsules for men as video possibilities
I have an idea for men's but not sure how to model for the fashion piece haha. I'll for sure post a similar one though and separate niche vs designer :D
Been following for a while but this is my first comment. Great fragrances! Loved the style combs too. I’m older- rounder but I thought your choices were easily adaptable and as classy as your fragrances. Thanks for the ideas.
I love that you always give very practical content and great tips. This video has inspired me so much that I was literally browse through my fragrance collection while watching it, chosing which would be my everyday, formal, date night, hot days or cool days scent in case of an apocalypse and I can only grab 5 before evacuating. You've gotta smell good while fighting the zombies or aliens amirite? 😅
@@jusderose urgh, it's almost impossible to pick. If apocalypse happens and those monsters are coming, I might just stay in and start a fire and burn them with me and my collection haha. Anywho, these are what I'm gonna bring with me to another planet and pass them down to the next generations: - everyday scent: Amouage Dia pour homme - date night scent: Dior Ambre Nuit - summer-spring scent: Creed Aventus - winter-autumn scent: Serge Lutens Santal Majuscule - formal scent: Frederic Malle French Lover (I might cheat and grab a bottle of Amouage Lyric Woman or Imitation Woman for a scent to wear when I go monster-slaying) Sorry, I watched too much sci-fi during lockdown 😔 Always love it when you bring fashion together with fragrances! Please keep up the great work, Josephine! Mucho love 💛🧡❤
Loved the idea of matching your perfume with your outfit! It really does set the tone of your mood, I do that too! Btw I finally bit the bullet and blind bought Perfect Oud based on your recommendation, and I love it! It's quite similar to Chopard La Nuit des Rois (also by Alberto Morillas) which I love, but it's more demure and less spicy. I had already gotten Scherzo after I heard you talk so much about it and it's a scent that I cherish 💗
Hi Josephine! I've been watching and re-watching your videos for the past few months as I'm getting started with my fragrance journey! Just wanted to ask, do you have a perfume suggestion that is similar to Rouge Malachite? It is not longer available in where I live 😭😭
Just the video I needed! I'm trying to create a capsule "wardrobe" of fragrances right now, and these categories will definitely help! So far, I have my spring/summer and fall/winter fragrances. Love your coordination of outfits and fragrances... I do the exact same!
I went to the store and smelled Hibiscus Palm on your recommendation, and I am obsessed. Purchased it as well as the vanilla vibes to layer, both travel sizes but no doubt I’ll be buying the full sized bottles. Going on a beach vacation over the holiday and will bring both of these. Love love love.
Hi Josephine, another great informative video. Kudos on the pairing idea of fragrance and fashion. Really enjoyed this one! Keep these great ideas coming you are unique in this fragrance niche. Best regards,
I too purchased Gris Charnel on Josephine’s recommendation! I blind bought it. To me, it smells like a dupe for Versace’s Crystal Noir! It’s the best description I can give if someone is wanting to know what it smells like. No where near the same scent but very similar. But you get that milky, sweet, cashmere like feel from Gris Charnel unlike Crystal Noir. Also, here’s something fun…Josephine recommended mixing it with Maison Margiela’s Jazz Club but I didn’t have that. However, I did have samples of both By The Fireplace by Maison Margiela and also Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon. They elevate the scent and bring an entire different composition to it! Highly recommend!
Great video! I have now bought BDK, Ex Nihilo, and Aerin, from this video as well as several others on your recommendation. I totally trust your taste. Thank you! Dying to know what lipstick you are wearing here. If you remember?
Thank you for this great video, Josephine! Gris Charnel is one of my cooler weather favorites as well. Would love to see more videos with the concept of fashion + fragrance, too!
I’m so glad you do these kinds of videos! I have a *ahem* blooming collection, and I don’t appreciate them enough. I like the idea of picking five to focus on, wear them for a month, then change it up next month. Every star gets to shine, and I get better acquainted with my collection. ❤️ Edit: My five this month: 1. Everyday: Byredo bal d’Afrique 2. Date Night: MMM Lipstick On 3. Cold weather scent: Tom Ford, Lost Cherry 4. Warm weather scent: Diptique Philosykos 5. Formal wear: ?? I don’t go anywhere these days.. my best guess would be Coco Madmoiselle? My fifth pick would actually be a celebrity cheapie that makes me feel young and I can spray liberally without overwhelming anyone: Cloud by Ariana Grande. Lol P.S. you convinced me to purchase a ginormous bottle of Aerin Hibiscus Palm (because I love frangipani, reminds me of Maui vacations). Waiting for it to arrive this week. 😍😼🌺
Thanks for sharing your picks. Some lovely fragrances I see :) Would love to hear your thoughts on Hibiscus Palm. I'm thinking of getting the large bottle myself haha
@@jusderose I am loving Hibiscus Palm! It’s such a heady, coconut milk and floral scent. It smells divine. I don’t know if my nose is inexperienced, but I’m having trouble picking out frangipani from the other florals. The creaminess of the coconut milk and the florals gives me the impression of a very banana like tuberose. I love it so much. It’s a mix of delicious and sophisticated, and I’m wearing it even though it’s 24F outside in Northern IL. 😂🌸🌺🌺
Gris Charnel is my new bedtime scent. It has replaced my Eau Duelle EDP. But I mean, I wear whatever I want on rotation everynight but I reach out to this the most. I just love its coziness really and I live in WA state so it’s always cold here. Anyway I have not tried it at work or like an everyday scent. I will one day.. I love your video as usual, you have an amazing content. I wish I can buy the Rouge Malachite here in the US it has been discontinued. My everyday scent is Ani (I know it is strong but I’m drawn to vanilla, always) My fall/winter scent would be Side Effect. My date night scent would be Atomic Rose (outside the house literally) or Poudre D’or (inside the house) with the hubby and kids. My formal scent would be Portrayal Woman or Lalibela (I know I love tobacco note aside from vanilla, I have to have two) My spring scent would be Jimmy Choo L’eau and for summer it would be Alien Goddess and the bonus is Gris Charnel for bedtime scent 🥰🤩
Josephine, this is great! The perfumes, your clothes, your style! But a pleasant distraction is the painting! And oh, pleasee where is that gorgeous boot from?
Loved this! I'm someone who's still getting into fragrances and I'm worried about owning too many that are the same so this is a great way of navigating that! Thanks :D
I bought a sample of Gris Charnel because Josephine talks about it so warmly. Maybe my nose and brain need some training or I am in phase of life where I want to smell more sweet and floral/fruity. Gris Charnel doesn't give me that and I will save it for another time. My first impression is that is more masculine and fresh I do not want that. So no crazy about it 🤷🏽♀️
I am currently trying to establish a few signature scents, and tend to lean toward niche fragrances. I have tried so many that you have suggested, but have returned the following ones because they didn't quite work for me. Byredo Gypsy Water, Bal D'Afrique & Mojave Ghost...so apparently, Byredo isn't the House for me. Also returned Le Labo Another 13, but fell for Le Labo Santal 33 and Dyptique Fleur de Peau. I'm hungry for more that are similar to those. Help!
I’ve read this a couple of times by other subscribers on this channel and I tested it out to see for myself but IMO, if you’re looking for a comparison for Hisbiscus Palm…Soleil Blanc is pretty much spot on aside from some slight differences in the notes. And at half the price!
This is such a great video, especially for a beginner like me. Im still looking for my everyday signature scent its kinda hard cus i really like gourmand sweet smell, afraid to have it during the hotter days
I hear you... finding your signature scent is challenging given the amount of choice there is out there! If you want a light sweet perfume I can recommend Honore Delights by Ex Nihilo, this has been my go to scent these days... lightly floral, lightly musky and lightly sweet
I loved this one, fragrance style mix. My favourite outfit for girls for everything are leather and vynil. I´ll take a look to your fragrance recomendations, just in case ;) kiss
I have high hopes for Gris Charnel but it smells so awful on the decant bottle and on my skin. This made me sad. It has so much hype :( I end up buying Pas Ce Soir.
i love the perfume choices, you inspired me to play around and choose my "5 i need" just for fun. I must say your white shirt looks great (on you). Would you mind sharing which brand it is?
I absolutley love all your videos, your style and presence is pure class. This latest video was so helpful and interesting in how you describe these 5 classes of fragrances. Thank you for listing your outfits. I love the two toned ballerina flats, I see they are from a store in Geneva. I live in New York and was wondering if the shoes are comfortable and true to size, I'm thinking of ordering a pair in the all black leather. I would love your feedback on them... Thank you Josephine.
Great video! I saw you just by chance and I was really impresed, just a month ago and I just watch you every time. You are very chic and effortles, that's what I like about you, and you have and impecable taste. I enjoy this video, I'll start my own 5 fab scents. Hibiscus palm is in my wish list...along with many other fragances...Thanks for your guide 😉
2:34 (Everyday Scent) Ex Nihilo - Lust in Paradise
4:18 (Evening Scent) Armani Privé - Rouge Malachite
6:08 (Winter Scent) BDK - Gris Charnel
7:47 (Spring/Summer Scent) Aerin - Hibiscus Palm
9:32 (Formal Scent) Chanel - 1957
That's my journey: I'm buying and trying a lot of fragrances just to find those 5, the perfect combination for myself.

Neiman’s online carries Rouge Malachite!
Amazing video, Jus! I love the painting by your side. Also, you look gorgeous! Lots of love!
Thanks! It's from Cox & Cox
Great topic! I love the idea of a capsule fragrance wardrobe ❤️
Josephine, this is great! The perfumes, your clothes, your style! But a pleasant distraction is the painting! And oh, pleasee where is that gorgeous boot from?
Thank you! All the links to the outfits and shoes are listed in the description box x
Loved this! I'm someone who's still getting into fragrances and I'm worried about owning too many that are the same so this is a great way of navigating that! Thanks :D

Gorgeous! I'm a new subscriber and binge watching :)
Fashion+Fragrances is a hit for me!❤️
Loved the pairing perfumes with those pretty outfits
I bought a sample of Gris Charnel because Josephine talks about it so warmly. Maybe my nose and brain need some training or I am in phase of life where I want to smell more sweet and floral/fruity. Gris Charnel doesn't give me that and I will save it for another time. My first impression is that is more masculine and fresh I do not want that. So no crazy about it 🤷🏽♀️
You have a wonderful personal style!
Loveeeeee the content of this video. Great job!!!!
I loved this video! ❤️
Can you make an equivalent video but using “clean” fragrances available at Sephora?
love your civil wedding dress! So elegant, will try Chanel 1957!
Thank you ♥️
My two most used every day fragrances are Perris Monte Carlo Ylang Ylang Nosy Be and Initio Musk Therapy.
Great video Josephine! I love Chanel 1957! ❤️
Help!
LOVE this style of videos! Merveilleux 👌🏼
Super sympa ce format 😍
Bathroom cleaning is on hold until i watch this! 🤣
Just the kind of video i needed🎈
Love this so much! Great taste in fragrances and fashion! 🥂
I’m so curious about Lust in Paradise and Hibiscus Palm now!! 💞
I’ve read this a couple of times by other subscribers on this channel and I tested it out to see for myself but IMO, if you’re looking for a comparison for Hisbiscus Palm…Soleil Blanc is pretty much spot on aside from some slight differences in the notes. And at half the price!
Thank you for the fun Video, I’ve tried hibiscus palm yesterday it’s amazing 🥰
Great concept and amazing list.
Much needed video, Josephine. Merci.
I believe 1932 de Chanel is my parfum which takes me on a time travel moment.
Need this kind of video for men. 😁 thank you for your great quality content 😊
Thank you for this Josephine!
I loved this one, fragrance style mix. My favourite outfit for girls for everything are leather and vynil. I´ll take a look to your fragrance recomendations, just in case ;) kiss
This was useful. I learned a lot. Thank you ❤.
Just wanted to tell You about a layering i made !!!
Mimosa and Cardamom [Jo Malone] x Eau des Merveilles [Hermes]
🧡🧡🧡🧡
Wow I want more of this!!’
Absolutely love this
Gris Charnel is gorgeous in the bottle, on me it quickly turns into "old ladies knickers drawer", this is so depressing. Great video though! Sending 💖
Your description is funny
Hahah this cracks me up!
I have high hopes for Gris Charnel but it smells so awful on the decant bottle and on my skin. This made me sad. It has so much hype :( I end up buying Pas Ce Soir.
Ok you are not the only one! It turns so old lady potpourri on me. It is kind of stale on me. My best friend rocks it and on her it is amazing.
You’re lucky because on me it turns like « old lady knickers » (without the « drawer »)
i love the perfume choices, you inspired me to play around and choose my "5 i need" just for fun. I must say your white shirt looks great (on you). Would you mind sharing which brand it is?
It's from Zara - I've linked it in the description box ;)
Joséphine j'adore ce type de vidéo, c'est vraiment top ! More more more !!!
Merci Virginie! ♥️
love this amazing background
Thank you for all this info ! 🙏🙏🙏👏
Can you do a review on kayali perfume? I love the musk12 one
I have no idea if they are true to size... I'm a 39.5 but usually get my shoes as a size 40 and they fit perfectly
Thank you for your lovely comment ♥️ Wishing you a great day/evening!
