definitely...i played tekken 2 demo disc and the intro came on and i knew nothing about tekken, and i was only 7 years old at the time, but i already knew what type game, the characters and the feeling/mood of the game just from the intro even before playing it. And i didn't even know there was tekken game before tekken 2 "(which is stupid cause it's called tekken 2 duh!) ...but that's how good the tekken 2 intro is

Great breakdown! Easily my favourite fighting game intro, if not my favourite intro of all time. The cinematography and music compliment each other beautifully, illustrating the depth and weight of the characters' personalities to my young mind over 20 years ago that I couldn't articulate. Despite being made in 1995 it remains my benchmark for fighting game storytelling and OSTs. Watching the T7 intro, it's cool, sure, but it doesn't hit that sweet spot. Sometimes less is more.
