I can recommend checking out youtuber raocow. He is in the middle of his "all the sonic" series, in which he plays every single sonic game. Yes, every one. Including waku waku police and sonics popcorn machine. Basically everything mentioned in this video.

@@Shadamyfan-rs8xc of course it does. It even includes the tiger electronics LED games. Right now, he is doing sonic adventure 2. He does it in order of release. The only thing he skips are rereleases, so he doesn't play sonic adventure 2 battle or sonic mega collection, since it's not really new content.

In Alton Towers they had a Sonic spinball roller coaster. When it first opened they had minigames you could play in the queue line. These stopped working after a few years and only the screens remained.
I played the the running game in Joypolis 2 years ago its really fun. I ended up playing as shadow. We also had every character slot taken, so it was a real contest lol.
That Sonic police car gives me the childhood feels.

7:34 Popcorn used to be a popular street-vendor snack in the US too. Which is how it became a movie theater staple food in the first place. People would simply take their popcorn they bought on the street with them into the theater and cinemas later capitalized on that by just selling the popcorn themselves.

I had the opportunity to ride the ghost shooter in Japan. A lot of people refer to it as the pumpkin hill ride. Pumpkin hill plays as these carts go in a big circle where your shoot ghosts and try to earn the most points. King Boom Boom also shows up and gets you bonus points if you can hit him.

@@ralsei3157 unfortunately that happens with almost every fanbase, people automatically think the entire fanbase is trash because of a few bad eggs.
This coupled with sonic's "reputation" of "hAhA gUyS sOnIc 06 Amirite?2?2?2???2" and some bad OCs leads to people automatically thinking the entire fandom is like chris chan and nothing more. It's sad, really. Just as sad as how sonic isn't treated as a videogame icon anymore and instead as a "funmy hedgehog run fast!1!1!1" because of the social media which I hate because it's always the same shit like "haha sonic 06 remember when sonic kissed human?2??2?2?2" and "haha big the cat funny!!!1"

I have played Sonic Athletics, it's surprisingly tough in that you really have to push the treadmill to get it going.
Also the graphics are pulled from the London 2012 games predictably.

The only ones I knew about were the Sonic Sega Popcorn Shop and the Sonic Cafe moible games. I learned about the popcorn one from a Sonic Mania Easter Eggs video (you can find a reference to the game in Studiopolis Act 1) and I'm not sure where I learned about the Sonic Cafe games, maybe from a Sonic Moible games video.
I had no idea about the first two or the last couple of ones.
I actually remember playing Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car in an indoor playground when I was very little. I don't know how one of those ended up being in my country.

I thought there wouldn't be anything I don't know here, but I never heard about Ghost Shooting and Brain Ranking before. I am impressed.
I've been to Joypolis in Odaiba. The train is small and runs in an oval shape. It appeared closed when I visited. The Sonic Carnival was fun. I almost had enough points to get a good prize! I wound up with a baby bottle filled with fruit-shaped erasers. I didn't dare try the treadmill attraction or the quiz show. Overall, the place is really cool and I look forward to going back to Japan again someday. Oh yeah, and if you took a picture with the workers, they make a "J" using their finger and thumb. Joypolis also had a really cool (but pricey) gift shop. What an awesome place.
Last year I saw a full line of 10 Sonic & Mario Olympic Games arcade cabinets with a similar setup as Sonic Athletics. It was in a shopping mall in Rio, Brazil, and I didn't even know there was an arcade version of that game.
Was wondering if the Sega Pico games would get a mention so I waited till the end of the video. There's Sonic's Gameworld, which is basically just Sonic-themed carnival games, and Tails and the Music Maker, a really simple music game for kids with Tails as the main character. The Pico was basically a Sega version of the Leapster.
I played Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car when I was child. By some miracle it was exported to an arcade in MALAYSIA, of all countries. This would have been pre-1996, and was probably my first encounter with the blue hedgehog. Never thought it would have had such a lasting impact. Nearly 30 years later and I have a TH-cam channel that covers a bunch of music from Sonic

I have played Sonic Patrol Car on the arcade when I was a toddler before I took my hands on an actual Sonic game. I never knew that existed until know, though I may have gotten random flashbacks of it.
Sega Joypolis is a Sega fan's paradise. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone going to Japan. It was kind of trippy seeing it in this video, as I made a visit there recently. I can confirm that the Sonic Athletics and Sonic-themed carnival games are still there, I actually won 2 plushes from the Whack-a-mole they showed in this video.

I went to joypolis 2015 and 2017. but there were no sonic merchandise around. And you should have mentioned the sonic rider attraction. Because this was the real fun.

The popcorn machines in Japan are pretty good. I've had a lot of the Hello Kitty popcorn though since my daughter cares more for cats than anything else.
Having watched through raocow's ongoing "All the Sonics" series I already knew most of these. Highly suggest watching through the series if you want to see some really weird Sonic games.

That CosmoFighter looks inspired by Fantasy Zone (an 80's Sega game). The music and how the ships look are pretty similar.
If you guys make another Obscure Sonic Games video, I recommend talking about the Japan exclusive CR Sonic arcade game. It ran on Dreamcast hardware and used the Sonic Adventure 2 engine but was a 2D side-scroller. I really think you guys should check it out.
I remember the Sonic police game. I saw it on a cruise ship. Which I think was originated in Asia considering a lack of a 4th floor (an unlucky number) and the amount of Asian arcade games they had on board. I distinctly remember a Resident Evil arcade machine (naturally called Biohazard) and the Sonic one. I don't think I actually played the Sonic one because the controls might've been in Japanese.
If I had to guess the ship, maybe it was the Carnival Legend or the Norwegian Jewel circa 2007/2008
