Brent Spiner and Annie O'Donnell need to return as the Wheelers to the new Night Court if they want to restore some hilarious laughter to the courthouse...
They need another Phil also.
I believe the actor who portrayed Phil as passed away...
@@lyledenney3487 I said, “They NEED another Phil also.” I didn’t mean the same character or actor. Have someone else who someone, on the cast, bosses around. It doesn’t need to be Dan. Dan could be freaked out by it but it would be great to have a character like Phil. It doesn’t have to be a bum. Just would be a comic relief character.
Although that Mac’s gone, I’d like to see Denice Kumagai come back as Quan Lee once or a few times.
They need to add a few more guest stars from the original...let me ask, is John Astin still alive?

I have often wondered why little Carol Ann never made a return appearance. Bob & June were awesome reoccurring characters characters, but after this first episode, no one ever mentioned the little girl again.
They had to sell her after the Lupis diagnosis and the medical bills from the woodchipper incident meant they couldn't afford to feed her anymore. It would have been fine except for the bus of Somali refugees that caught on fire and slammed into the puppy daycare. His last good pair of trousers were used as a tourniquet for the bus drivers arm but they hadn't accounted for the fact his arm wasn't attached to his body anymore.
Maybe because noble suffering can be hilarious in adults, but not in children?
Good news. little Carol Ann just made an appearance all grown up on the reboot this past week.
I wish the Wheeler family came back for an episode in the new series.

Brent Spiner and Annie O'Donnell ARE returning to Night Court. I was a teenager in the 80s when this show came out. It's where I got my sense of humor. As happy as I am to see the return of Brent and Annie, I have to be honest. This new series sucks. If you have never seen the original, you don't understand. Dan was born to be a prosecutor. He won 5 Emmy's (actually, he turned down the 5th one) for that role. To have him as a defense attorney doesn't fit. The show uses a laugh track, not a live audience like in the original. The cases they have are not like what Harry presided over (hookers, bag ladies, peeping toms). That is what made that series great. I tolerate this new version, but do not like it.

For those wondering why Harry was in Heroic BSOD mode, it was because he had to rule against a woman and her son and evict them from the hotel they were staying at, with the son calling Harry a pig (something that would have gotten him thrown in contempt if Harry wasn't in such a good mood {more likely he didn't want to add to their problems}).

Well, we are all entitled to our own opinions! I personally find the new show quite funny! Maybe not quite as funny as the original, but when has any reboot been as funny as the original!
