This video went viral over the internet: a boy struggling to get to the surface after getting pushed deep into the pool. When panicked, the body becomes heavier. However, the human body has a natural ability to float. To survive in such a situation, it's important to stay calm. By relaxing, the body can regain control and naturally float to the surface.
To survive in such a situation, it's important not to empty your lungs. By keeping your lungs filled with air, you increase buoyancy and improve your chances of floating to the surface. So, in moments of distress in the water, remember to keep your lungs full to stay afloat.

Okay there should be some warnings on this video. 1. This person obviously didn’t have the ability to swim down that deep. And his friends pushed him further than he was able to go himself. Do not EVER do this. Especially if they don’t know to swim VERY well. With one wrong move this guy could’ve been at the bottom of this pool for a long time. Please only do what you know youre capable of. 2. It’s a lot easier said than done to stay calm when you’re running out of oxygen. Instead try to focus on holding your breath in for as long as you can handle the CO2. Although it sucks the air that’s in your lungs is helping you (even if slightly) get back to the surface. Once you breath out it will be SO much harder to swim back up. Especially if you’re already at the point where you ran out of oxygen for your body to use. And 3. Please stay safe and don’t do shit like this. I’ve been swimming for 15 years with experience scuba diving. And I would need some serious prep work before I would want to try this. And I wouldn’t have my stupid ass friend push me down to the bottom if I couldn’t reach it. (I’m sorry that really pisses me off because literally his friend could’ve ended his life with that stupid decision. But anyway) you guys please stay safe around the water. You might think it’s all fun and games until you’re at the bottom of whatever body if whatever you’re in and your body is forcing you to breath in water while you try to reach the surface. Only to sink progressively deeper. Yeah that sounds scary right? Good. Stay safe around water. Please.

For those who struggle to swim. Dont kick your feet, act like youre walking, relax your ankles. Use your hands to push the water below, like youre trying to dig with your hands. If youre one of those people who just sinks no matter what, if its only 10ft or so, you can wait until you hit the bottom, and jump. Make yourself thin and jump as hard as you can, youll make it to the surface. Im a florida man whos swimming for as long as i can remember
He should never trust the other guy again in his life. Leave that fool
💯✔
Problem was, he panicked before he even hit the bottom where if you had any water experience you would know you're supposed to allow yourself to sink to the bottom and then use your legs to spring up and you initially place your arms at your side legs straight to ascend as far as possible. This guy's leg movements were almost completely useless and his arm movements were hardly better.
It may look like he sprung from the bottom but he actually kicked the side of the pool in panick which won't really help him go upward when you're that far down (pressure.) I am pretty sure the instructor was trying to help him spring off the bottom. Maybe the trainee needs more water acclimation before going this deep.
Please do not empty your lungs underwater without knowing how deep the water is. Did this once in a lake and almost drowned doing it.
this is big facts, its dangerous to empty lungs especially if you’re scared to touch the bottom
I dived oncetried to reach the bottom it was like 15 metters down i thought it was less than that, i was like 17 and more athletic than i am right now so i got close enough and thats when i felt i dont have enough oxygen but still i just kept going till i reached the bottom where i just used my legs to push and thats when i realised that i had no oxygen left and it was so scary that the surface seemed sooo far to me, thank god i kept all the air in my lungs because i had experience with that, if i wasnt a swimming lover id couldve been dead.

dumb people trying to intelligently summarize. but no the panicking makes you breathe more and release more air. that makes you denser, as theres less air. and has nothing to do with your emotional state.
Panicking is also making him flail around and making it hard to go up.

This is not how a normal person swims up in a panic, in fact, as a diver i can tell you, when you know what’s the right way up, you usually go too fast and hurt your eardrums or if you’re deep enough, even get the bends, but that only happens when scuba diving usually.
Don’t u get the bends from swimming to long and the carbon comes through ur skin or something like that ?

@@darkshrine_5573it’s the oxygen in your blood expanding too quickly and forming bubbles
Wait wait wait! Are you talking about staying calm and floating up or like the guy in the video?
People say "its easier said than done" but its actually much easier to do it than to explain how it works.
Explanation: when deep into the water stand straight like a soldier with your hands down. This will give you a more water dynamic shape that will put the bodys ability to float in much better use. While straight in might take a second for you to gain momentum so to speed up the process flap your feet in a back and forth peaceful and fast(if necessary) motion. More experienced swimmers will also use their hands and whole body to help them reach the surface faster. By doing all this you are sure to hit the surface in no more than ~10 seconds from 7 meters deep so make sure to *STAY CALM* cause there is not reason to stress

That’s how I almost drowned TWICE as a kid I was terrified both times and was yelling for help. Second time like an idiot I again went into deep water despite still not knowing how to swim and yelled for help. All from stuff to do to help others and stuff we will have to do ourselves when no one else is there to help. From medical to mechanical stuff and being able to help people after an accident. We need our future generations to become smarter than the previous one. Only that way will humanity get better within the years. All we need is to put the important morals infront of our lifes and learn how to survive the best we can.
As a swimmer I was just screaming into my phone, “STOP EXHALING!!!!”
I once did this in the ocean. Luckily I calmed myself and took deep breaths to keep me afloat. I was in a rip current at the Santa Monica pier. I got sucked past the pier and thought I was not coming back cause I started to cramp up. I made it out and will not be going back into the ocean 😂 maybe surfing at most but not at night and not without a flotation device off some sort lol
How did u breath underwater? 💀❓
@@Spring_gachavids "i calmed myself and took deep breaths to KEEP ME AFLOAT" not float to the surface, to STAY afloat
Some individuals are just not as buoyant. These individuals have a harder time keeping their head out of the water.
Fam just don’t release your oxygen
@@Bxlltzfn the buoyancy test where you take in one full lung of air and hold it and stay vertically still with minimal clothing on a calm day at the beach(should be salt water) it differs for everyone regardless of body type. Some individuals with the same weight and body type may have different buoyancy one has his eyes or even nose above water by staying vertically still and one might have his head barely breaking the surface. It’s just that there are some people who are very buoyant while others are sinkers.
@@PitFitHuntFanthats why you dont just stay there you start taking big strides up while having your lungs filled its how i taught my 4yo brother
@@alexisvargas7455 yes if your not as buoyant as an average person you have to work harder on your technique to stay afloat. I’m one of those who are not as buoyant and I’m a recreational diver. On our dive course we had our buoyancy test on the ocean and in the pool. In the pool on a lung with full air if I assume an Indian stance sitting position, I sink to the bottom. In the ocean even with a full dive suit which adds to buoyancy, top of my head barely breaks the surface by staying relatively still… in the group me and my son where the sinkers along with one other individual while my wife and daughter are floaters and some where extra buoyant requiring very little effort and hardly much movement to stay afloat. I’m not thick boned like my son but I am still a sinker, it’s just the way I’m built probably having denser bones either thru genetics or adaptation as I’ve been into martial arts since I was a kid and had several minor fractures and bone/joint injuries. The great apes like gorillas, chimps, and orangutans also are sinkers just for trivia.😁

As a Competitive swimmer this is so true my coach always says that most people can't learn swim because the moment they are in a deep part of the pool or sea they tend to panic than to relax and be part of the water not fighting it
Im a swimmer, if you pushed to the bottom of the pool, let your feet touch the floor, trust me
Then push/ kick the floor as strong as you can with both leg then make your body streamline ( stand up still position)
You will go to to the surface in a second, even in 8 m deep pool
Drowning is a huge fear of mine, I mean as it should be for people, but as a kid, my horrible stepmother, at the time, and I got pulled in an undertow together and she used my head to hoist herself up, pushing me even deeper. Didn't help me after either. Love that for her. ❤
What an evil person
Ocean has a better floatation than pool remember that.
Shows to always BE CAREFUL ❤
If you pump out all the air you start to sink like a rock but even then if you relax and do proper sweeming movements you can get back to surface. I did it many times because it's fun to just lay on the bottom motionless whatever little time you can spend down with no air.
Rule number one. Panic gets you nowhere other then to some accident if there is no one to help you. Stay calm and collected.😊
😭 stoppp it ain’t that hard

Stay calm is something from the last things you remember if you are in such situation.!!
Excuse me, i am under the water😂😂😂😂😂
This is true one time when I was younger at my school we were swimming so I barely knew how to swim we were still learning while we were holding on the edges listening to the teacher I accidently let go from the edge and drowned to the bottom I stayed calm kicked my legs and arms and got to the surface and held the edge again if u panic u will drown no one really noticed me drown but its fine
I always train myself by putting my head inside the water everyday and my time increased from 50s to 1m 29s and am still practicing to go for 5minutes.
Bruh you done did him dirty thats a grown ass man with chest hair 💀
If you need to go up fast, force your arms down to your side for initial momentum and float up, I used to be a county swimmer and part of my training was going to the bottom of the pool, collecting items then resurfacing quickly. You don’t become heavier as such when you panic but you run out of air flapping and flapping holds you down
I almost drowned in a pool once. Letting out air helped the head pain.
Don’t make many friends, make one who understand you know you and respect you
Just keep calm, everything will be alright.
The fact that his friend pushed him to get up💀
Love those memories of mine where I was swimming up to the surface of the pool and a floaty with a person on it that I couldn’t lift was above me. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem as you could just go around, but my idiot 7 year old self thought I had to deadlift the floaty to survive. Anyways, I cried and went back inside.
My coach told me don't panic in the water be calm with your movements and water will never let you drown
I have been in many situations where panicking would have ended my life, I’m very lucky I learned from a show, to always keep calm and think of possible. It always stuck with me

This happened to me before as a kid. me and my brothers and a family friend was at a pond swimming and the friend was showing us how he could touch the bottom. I wanted to try it so I did and I don’t even think I got half way down when my brain realized I didnt grasp enough air to make it all the way down so I started fighting to get back up and was panicking more and more until I felt a hand grab my arm which pulled me all the way back up. It was the family friend. I was so relieved to breath air again I just balled my eyes out and as I got older this memory made more and more sense. God works through people and the environment around us.

If you don’t know how to swim and you’re in a pool/and form of water
Try and get on you’re back (CALMLY) once you’re on you’re back you’ll float to the surface pretty fast
If not slowly take you’re hands and form a cup on Botha palms if you’re hands and slowly put both arms stretched above you’re head and push down to the sides like you’re making a snow angel
For you’re legs you want to kick slowly in a simple pattern
Kick you’re one leg first and when it come back into its original position kick the other and repeat
That is called a breaststroke and it is the pain swimming form when underwater
My swimming instructor from 5-17 always told us that if we were swimming on the surface and could not get air to flip onto our backs. Granted if you swallow water its a different story but it saved me a couple times.
That’s true I also try to keep my anxiety levels low so I can just float back up with the air in my lungs
He became negatively buoyant and was not expecting it.

The whole lung thing is true, I almost drown 4 yrs ago. The current was strong and people just watch me before helping. I got so pissed off, it calm me down and I managed to swim back by holding on to a random swimmer with a lifejacket. It's easy to float when you have air in your lungs.
As you descend, water preasure will rise and lower the volume of the air in your lungs!! The deeper you are, the harder it is to swim back up! This is most noticable for the first 5 to 10 meters!
