Yeah dude, that’s exactly my ranking. Requiem, Fountain and Wrestler are in my personal Top 20 All Time list. I really appreciate and share your love for The Fountain.
1. Black Swan 2. Requiem 3. The Fountain 4. The Wrestler 5. The Whale 6. Mother! 7. Noah 8. Pi To be fair it's been a while since I've seen Noah or Pi.
Mother! is my favorite. I didn't know anything about the bible so I think I appreciated more than many viewers that I always heard saying Yes but it is a full allegory
1. Requiem for a Dream 2. mother! 3. Black Swan 4. The Fountain 5. The Whale 6. The Wrestler 7. Pi 8. Noah One of my favourite filmmakers. I need to rewatch The Wrestler as it's been over 10 years since I've seen it so that might be too low.
Right on! Here's my list. 1. Requiem For A Dream 2. Mother 3. The Whale (I looked at this as a better version of 'The Wrestler' in terms of the whole estranged daughter and self destruction element) 4. Black Swan 5. Pi 6. The Wrestler 7. The Fountain (I want to like this one! I didn't put it on the bottom to be provocative....and I love symbolic and metaphorical films. I just had trouble following it. Yes I watched your video about it. I'll watch it again to see if I can pick of more clarity) I haven't seen the others.
I have to agree that The Fountain is his most interesting, spiritual, and heartbreaking film that he has directed. The loss and religious themes that are prevalent work well together to create an atmosphere that is so touching. Truly, a great picture that only gets better with each re-watch. With that said, Black Swan is a very close second with The Whale following in third.
Aronofsky is one of my favourite directors, not only The Whale is for me his worst movie to date, but is one of the worst of the year unfortunately. It felt like a Hallmark movie that you watch on a Sunday afternoon, it was so disappointing and melodramatic, it just didn't work. But Brendan was well casted.
Best Actor should've gone to Colin Farrell or Paul Mescal. Brandon Fraser gave a very good performance but it's an acting performance that cracked the code for winning Best Actor. You know what I mean?
After ‘the whale’, I can finally say, with absolute certainty, that Aronofsky is a terrible director. Requiem for a dream is basically an after school special anti-drug ad for adults.
Dude… even if you aren’t huge on requiem, the style and craft of the film is undeniably creative and admirable. It’s fine if you don’t like him as a whole but I think to flat out call him a terrible director comes off a bit disingenuous

interesting because I view The Wrestler as the better version over The Whale
That's cool ☺@@joed7185
The only one you haven't seen is Noah. He only has 8 films. Just see that one and you are done.

I enjoyed!! Nice.
Aronofsky is a gateway drug for sure

Orale, wey. That's what I'm talking about.
The Fountain is my least favorite among his films. But I do like some of the symbolic elements.
