I modded a sm57 and a 58 to duck the transformer and add the cloud lifter and a foam cover then switch back and forth from broadcast to standard, I also love hearing Andy shoot down headphone mixing, helps support my monthly arguments with my wife why my genelecs were a more important purchase than a new living room set, lol But beyerdynamic 770 80 htz for tracking. Favorite Distressor? Still Emp Labs EL7-8? How bout the plug in?
nice to hear from andy ! cheers for this! and next time you can speak a bit more quietly or further away form your mic/phone becos its andy who we wanna hear most loudly
Scit from Sabbat!!!! Do I remember correctly? ...been a lotta headbanging since the limited edition flexi-disk from White Dwarf magazine introduced me to this Dark Prince of Thrash Riffage. Engineered the best sounding Megadeth, too... What a f'kin AWESOME channel, man. Stay healthy!
those guitars are killer i mean pain killer''''' what was that explorer he used a gibson /hellion electric eye 2020/ out heir in space. i love to play tiptons leads. nice damn work you,all
lovely guy..great producer..but mm..he doesnt fit the bill for Priest guitarist....... he doesnt cut the shapes or deliver as a lead player...the 2 JP guitarists have to be on an equal footing!!! Nowt personal!!
@@EssexRecordingStudios I suppose it depends on what said ears are listening for. If you mean song writing/style: I agree they don't. If you mean the mix/master: I think they all have a very similar sheen to them. It also depends on what role he has, as when he has been producer I think even the high level view of the songs tends to be more homogenous. I'm talking more recently of course, dude has had a long career.
The Andy Sneap Forum.... the good ol days
Yeah James was talking to him about it. Apparently a big thing with you producers and engineers
@@EssexRecordingStudios lol I'm just a guitar player my dude... but that was the holy grail of info back in the day for recording and tone tips!!
@@EssexRecordingStudios The advice and knowledge learned from Andy and that forum is priceless
Yeah, a cesspool for copycat producers / engineers and the plague of mediocrity they unleashed upon metal music.
Oh my God! Thank you thank you thank you for making this video! It's fantastic to listen to some of the most talented gurus of heavy music! Great!!!
My pleasure dude. We're working hard to get the best if the best in here, and we want to share all of these amazing experiences with you guys
Andy has always been Sabbat's guitarist to me. He is great guitarist and deserves to be in Judas Priest.
For sure man. He was epic on stage at Bloodstock with Judas Priest last weekend! 🤘
For me, the Sneap legacy is drums. His drums are always top notch and clean.
Great vídeo Man, it's awesome hearing from a great producer that's been behind basically 50% of the records I love haha
I thought a lot of you guys would appreciate this vid 🤘
@@EssexRecordingStudios indeed
That's a great vid, is there any chance you can do a full Q&A with Andy ? Perhaps with questions from fans of his work ?
Post them here and ill put them to him :)

C'mon Andy talk some sense into JP and let them bring back KK before it's too late..time is not on their side. Dudes are too old to hold grudges.

I think he kills it with Priest! His guitars are killer
"Focus the band's vision and not step on it with your own ideas" says the man who makes every band he works with sound the same.
I've got some ears to lend you if you think Killswitch, Megadeth and Judas Priest all sound the same
