    Wow, that 1944 Ford F2 is SUPER rare, even rarer than the 42s! As you probably know, civilian auto production was halted on February 3, 1942, for the duration. Dealer's inventory was frozen - the vehicles were mainly allotted to the military on an as-needed basis. People who were able to prove that they genuinely needed a new car - doctors, for example - would be given a priority certificate that would allow them to purchase a new car from that frozen inventory. By 1944, the need for new trucks had become acute, so the government allowed to produce a small run of trucks, hence, this truck. Also, after all the sedans, which is what the military and other government departments use, a few hundred cars were assembled by hand, again for the military.
