    How are you getting the speed data? I have fully smart horizon planes and don't see that anywhere.

    Ali, I like your management stye/engineering style/development style. I have not seen other company who’s leaders push their planes to see what the components will do. You probably do but not for public view. For me, it shows that you are more like some of the guys at the park, always looking for ways to get a little more out of their planes. Additionally that makes you more relatable to us regular pilots out here. Great videos, keep them coming! What gives you gps info on your radio? The radio or is it a module? Is the data stored? Which radio are you using? I’m also glad that can mention pushing some these motors, escs, etc. past their warranty specs then just mention the responsibility for doing so. Sometimes after I’ve flown a plane for awhile i start wondering what can i do to get a little more out of it. It’s fun to listen a like minded fellow. Thanks!

    Hi what size propeller 20cc gas you use ?

    I'm hoping somebody from Horizon can answer this question -- what is the actual covering material? I know it's 0.09mm thick, which is the same as self-adhesvive Oracal, but it's stiffer and less prone to having the balsa grain show through. I'd like to buy similar material for some modifications I intend to make. The adhesive is also much more permanent.

    Very nice guys, I want to convert all my models to the Smart system, question I want to purchase the Hanger 9 Cub in an electric setup, can I use the Avian 100 ESC together with the new AR637T receiver? Will I be able to setup SAFE on it as well? I am using the iX12 radio I bought from you guys. If yes, this is a game changer.

      Yes, yes & more yes! With the electronics you intend on purchasing, you can get the full Smart setup on your Cub! Make sure you update your IX12 to the latest airware and you should be good to go! Also, make sure to maximize the Smart data by using Smart batteries!

    • @jabe5895
      @jabe5895 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HorizonHobbyProducts Thank you for the reply, yes I updated my iX12 already and building up my inventory of SMART batteries, so are you confirming that we can put SAFE? Makes me feel better when flying a large balsa model to have a safety. Please do a tutorial in placing a SMART ESC and Receiver to Hangar 9 or FMS model, I bet it will help many people move to the SMART Eco system.

    Was this with the E-flite Power 60 470Kv motor?

    First of all wow what a great model! Second if I was flying I would have only been calling out 100mph and after new prop, would have said “wow a 100mph what an increase!” 😆

    I wonder how many planes are gonna fly straight into the ground while pilot is looking at a 1.5x2.5 inch screen on his transmitter. In the Sun.

    • @knifeedge63
      @knifeedge63 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tom, the cool thing about these new radios is the fact that they have call outs for data you want to know about. They also record data to an SD card to later review. In the video me and Tomas are looking at the screen and calling things out so that you the viewers can understand what’s going on. That was my first time experiencing the functions of that radio. So there won’t be a need to look at it long while flying if at all! But the function is there. It’s very useful on the ground during run up, or after landing to check battery cell voltage to try for a better landing 😄

    Where do we find the setup used on this bird?

    • @alimachinchy7673
      @alimachinchy7673 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is the Eflite Power 60 motor with a smart 80 Amp ESC on 6s 5000's Then some experimentation with props ( in the video ) Next video is a change of motor and 8s !

      They did great. This old Stang has some pretty warn out gear ( Its prototype number 2 and has been through the wars ) The wheels move a bunch, which makes for some interesting ground handling. My landings were not any better. Although. Props to team pilot Colin for putting it in the bushes :)

      Hey, the airplane seemed at home in the bushes. From air to ground, wood to wood? Something like that. I am a bush pilot after all 😂

    Sounds like a prop could use some balance

    • @alimachinchy7673
      @alimachinchy7673 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not the prop, but the spinner I think. I balanced the prop and had a quick go at balancing the spinner... Obviously not enough!

  • @P8intballEvans
    @P8intballEvans 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you are flying by yourself you won't be able to look at the screen long enough to see what's going on ...does it have capability to save the data ...hard to read that screen while flying

    • @alimachinchy7673
      @alimachinchy7673 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. It can record to a micro SD card and you can download it later. You cal also have the radio call out the data at a touch of a switch if you want it?
