My quetz on an official server is capable of chasing down 98% of ALL the pter and argies on the server! The quetz covers more distance per wing beat then any other flyer. So yes the speed looks slow. But it's traveling a much greater distance with each wing beat.
Something to note: I believe ankylo gathering tops off around 700% melee, I put everything else into weight unless it's pvp in which case I give them some extra health too for obvious reasons. Doing this you can get their weight to something absurd like 1200 - 1500. If you're using the quetzal trick you'll probably want a little bit more melee on the ankylo so it can 1-shot the metal nodes while you fly through them.
what I would do with a quetzal is pump its stamina full out because you can stay in the air for an extreme amount of time and probably cross the map. and also most other stats on quetzal are pretty good without leveling.
For me pretty much any quetzal with 250 damage and 300 movement is perfect. a high level will already have 2000+ stamina, carry 1000kg and have around 5khp. why would you fly a ptera or an argi when you have these kind of stats? i think a 300 movment quetz is equal to around a 270movment ptera

Land dinos are faster than any flier could ever hope to be, because "fast fliers break the game". Meanwhile, my game is crashing because of how stupid fast my maewing is. That's all fine though, we just don't need quetzals going almost as fast as an argy. That would be crazy.
that not the highest movement speed, me and my mates quetzals have 754.53% movement speed and they get from one side of the map to the other in under 10 secs
Dragonboy54321 Mc Isnt it the max speed for any official server? you can only go up 56 levels from the first level of tame, and all movement speed stats start at the same point. So from tame + 56 levels worth of points in movement = maximum speed.

the quetz i have is around level 100, about 2k stamina, 150% move and 2.5k weight, can go from cano to base with 2k metal without stopping for stamina
i got so lucky and got 120 with an obsurd 3535 carry weight
I got one with 358 speed 1320
Weight and 292 melee health was 6k 120 kibble 179 tame but he had nasty color like mud so I destroyed it
my quetz has like 13k weight lol
