- *WARNING* if you suffer from a heart condition or seizures DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO. If you chose to do so and you do have these conditions than you do it at your own risk and I accept no responsibility, please be careful.
Due to the fact that this game uses light guns there are extreme flashes which may be dangerous to certain people. Those with these medical conditions listed above or other related conditions are warned not to watch this video.
This is a video showing the original Carnevil arcade game being played on the actual arcade pcb. Because it is being captured directly from a CRT monitor there will be flickering etc which may be uncomfortable for some. please keep this in mind while watching.
Capture Card: As long as I make videos on YT I will not use a capture card to record footage. All videos will show the actual games running on the actual hardware which may mean that video clarity, perfect sound, etc will not be possible. I ask that those who may be looking for capture card quality videos avoid these in order to avoid disappointment.
For those who just enjoy a regular guy playing some games with the "In the same room" type of feel camera work than I welcome you to watch the vids and hopefully enjoy.
Thank you in advance to everyone for your understanding.
So cool to have this game at your house to play it anytime you want! Such a classic and like you said, tons of attention to detail in this one. I never managed to make it all the way through to the end of the game back in the day playing it in the arcades, so it was pretty awesome to see the ending =)
WOW! A king amongst arcade games. Fan-bloody-tastic! Thankyou Luke.
One of the best arcade games.
I miss playing this at the arcades at the local mall.
I never got to play this, only from witnessing the cabinet itself from a bowling alley at a college...the intro scared me. (I was 9)
the floaty head scares me
I remember Crypt Killer, It was a 3 player light gun game which had shotgun controllers and it was housed in a pretty big cab. The game was made by Konami.
Killer vid man! Glad the drive didn't give any trouble! Honestly had my doubts since I couldn't test it. Noticed Carlos Pesina and Sal Divita in the credits. Most recognized as Raiden and Nightwolf from Mortal Kombat, interesting.
Oh man back in California this game was everywhere! Was actually really scared of it as a small child but then grew to just love its dark humor. Thanks for the gameplay, man!
In New Jersey, as well
You've really got to hit her in her special parts lol. Great game. I've just checked and I had this in MAME and didnt even realise what it was until your vid. It's a fun game and pretty detailed as you say.
Awesome. Simply awesome. I never knew this game existed. Actually, being from Iowa, I got a good laugh about the setting - Greely Valley, IA. (FIctional, but still.)
Thanks for an awesome vid, man! I can only hope to find this some day and pump a ton of quarters in.
there was also Evil Night which featured handguns which could be charged up (by aiming outside the screen for a few seconds until an LED light turned on) and when you shot it while charged, it would fire a powerful shot.
Love the spider monkeys. I remember this game from the local arcade before it was shut down. It's good to see it again, thanks for the great vid.
very good looking game, the music is perfect for halloween, and the ambientation is unique
cool game, I want to say I saw a ad for this in one of my old PC Gamer mags back in the 90s
Luke you're the reason i tried this game out and i am definitely playing it on Halloween next year!
Krampus is the level 2 boss? If this isn't the best halloween gun game ever, I dunno what is, haha. (certainly gives the House of the Dead games a run for the creepy/gory/scary factor)
Fantastic video man, it looks like a really sweet game!
I totally remember beating this game at a movie rental store that a couple of arcade cabs in it.I had like 3 or 4 dollars in quarters. I think the other cab was Mortal Kombat 2.
at 18:10, there's Trog, the one eyed caveman from Trog! which was also designed by Jack Haeger.
the way you do this is by going into Service Mode, then highlight More Adjustments and then highlight Big Baby. It will mention "Big Baby Enabled, Would You Like to Disable" then choose yes to disable Junior (the baby's name) and replace him with Deaddy.
The character moves on his own on a set path once all of the zombies attacking you are killed just like any other rail shooter.
Wow, Luke! That's three projects you completed that you had trouble with before, good job, man! Plus they all have a gun of some sort for you to use, hehe.
Luke you rock! Loved this video. Keep it up man!
Awesome game. I really wish this had a console release so I could play it at home.
Remember playing this back in 99, good fun this was.
damn i love this game. there was another cool weird lightgun game similar to this that i played when i was a kid, i think it had a shotgun too but it was based in like tombs or something? im still trying to figure out what game that was but man, lightgun games were the best! you cant beat that experience
"Let's pop this on and play some of that" - my new pickup line :)
Challenge accepted.
*10 hours later*

This game looks like tons of fun!
Good memories for me. My brother and I last played this about 6 years ago. We got our asses handed to us, but good times... good times...
More light gun shooters please! :D
i used to live in south Daytona Florida and there was this place called skate city
i would go and play carnevil there, but that was a long time ago

DIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(Holy diver intro)
ACTUALLY now that you say that, i dont think corpse killer was on arcade from what i could find, but i think it might have been crypt killer, though i swear i remember it having a shotgun in the arcade i went to, it coulda been a hackjob who knows lol
Luke ,will you ever be making a mame cabinet?
Hey Luke! I absolutely love this game. One of the best shooters there is (maybe apart from House of the Dead 2) Got one myself. I even got hold of 2 almost brand new looking shotgus for it, but I have not tried wiring them up yet. I really need to get round to it, but alway too many projects to work on lol
I heard there was a way for a Happ gun to work on a SEGA game, but how did you get the Namco gun to work on a Midway game?
Everyone used to go to the arcade. What happened?
I know the time in Tokyo is 4:00 and I dont expect a reply. But i hope you are alright after the earthquake. Love from Norway.
What's happening in Tokyo? I heard about the new earthquake near Fukushima.
Hope you are alright.
What a way to finish off the last boss Lol!
wow what cool game... i like these rail shooters.
this game looks AWE... guh, gah, call, ambulance, ugh.
junior boss looks like jay z
I wonder if there isn't a recoplitacion game with all these fun games for the ps
Awesome!
This game should have been ported to home consoles,
OMG This game is awesome !!
There's a code where it changes the baby to a teddy bear
does the character move on his own in the stages or do you do something to make him move
Hey bro just heard about the earthquake over there hope you all fine n safe.
I love this game!
Have you moved that game's data to a CF card?
Great Game!
