That's great - if you happen to have an old soldering iron of that specific type going spare, as well as silicon tubing, an old aquarium pump or motor and diaphragm, etc... But if you have to buy all the individual bits - you may just as well buy a cheap heat gun from the hardware store. It will probably also have the benefit of being thermostatically controlled; having adjustable temperature; only requiring a single electrical outlet; being designed for the purpose; and far less likely to fall apart and give you a deadly electric shock too.

air pump pushes air thru the heater, creating a airflow of super heated air...aka a hot air gun, hot enough apparently to melt SMD solder....this is a CRAZY cheap way to make a viable working hot air rework station.

For very tiny things you cannot use soldering iron. In such a case, you need to use hot air soldering.
