The button releases the pressure from inside the gauge, there is a one way valve to be able to measure top pressure at the cylinder. Also you should open the throttle at the same time to facilitate the flow of air, didn't catch if you were doing it.

William, great video mate and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them and your Russet brown Clubby! The head needs to come off but the total lack of compression would indicate a stuck valve plus so when stripping the head down check your valve's and valve guides. All the best, Sean

Hi Sean, thanks pal, i've seen a few of your videos and i enjoy the stuff you produce. i'll get the current vehicle all done and dusted before getting my clubby back indoors... New video coming very soon on a rather unique mini that i've been working on. I'll be sure to subscribe to your channel and keep those comments coming :)

@@WilliamMurfitt Thanks buddy, I need to get back in to the classic but this year has been really hectic with the new job plus trying to keep the daily drivers going. Hopefully by the start of next year I can level out and get the project going again. All the best, Sean

William, Matt put me on to you! I will do a shout on my channel on the next video. The lack of compression is due to a stuck valve or
a burnt out exhaust valve take off the rocker cover and check there is movement. Even with worn rings you will see some compression.
the head casket looks suspect as well due to oil in the radiator. I have never seen a compression this bad just being an head casket only.
I think your a natrual in front of the camera and i like the way you present the video, All the best with the channel. Cheers Dave

Great video buddy! Really great to see you starting some work on this old girl 😊
Is it not better to take all the plugs out?

Zero compression!!?? I’ll be guessing valves over rings

Donno really, i guess turning the engine over by hand it would be easier to do this, but with the battery doing all the work the compression isn't really needed. i guess i didn't want to loose any parts also ha ha ha

Oh no! He's not making those hand gestures. "It starts to get a bit sloppy in there." You're making it worse!! LOL
