I hope that there really is a sequel to Rebellion coming; there's no telling whether it would actually end worse, with Gen Urobuchi writing it, but I want to know where it's going. The girls will wake up and Homura has already realized that Madoka has become an adversary because of her choice of order over desire.

That's her entire identity.
It was her wish
She is the embodiment of denial,
The first stage of grief.
Yet there are aspects in her of every stage: her bargaining with kyubey to redo (deny) reality and madoka's death, angry at others for not listening to her and at herself for not being strong enough, depressed, self isolating and lonely behind the mask of indifference and acceptance. I feel depression is the usual point you start going for self harm, but her denial and constant retries are self abuse to her psyche - what denial taken to extremes is like. Any attempt to accept madoka is gone is admitting she failed, admitting she was too weak, admitting how utterly alone she is and feels in her grief in the midst of those who seem to have moved on, admitting she was worthless and didn't deserve to live. Without madoka she cannot ignore her own insecurities and self loathing. Accepting all that would mean accepting she was an unrecognizable monster, warped and twisted by inescapable depression, eternally trapped by her inability to properly cope and accept the loss.
She is a good example of "there's no way she has depression" based on first impression. She seems so together: pretty, smart, athletic, confident, but as the show continued it peeled back the layers of her to eventually reveal a broken mess. Someone with depression in plain sight. A "witch" still wearing human skin that only needs the realization to hit to lose their identity.

I've been coming back here for a few years now. I've made numerous comments about how great this AMV is. Over and over again, no matter how much time passes or how many amv's/series I watch, this continues to just be an absolutely mind blowing level above all others in terms of AMVs.
At this point in my mind, I have cemented this as the greatest possible AMV that can be created within all the realms of anime in conjunction with music. It just simply can not be done better than this. Nothing in all the current realms of existence can be put together so beautifully.
This IS the single greatest AMV that will likely ever exist in all of the past, present, or future of humanity.

What it means to go mad from love, grief, and longing
This is nothing short of spectacular. I've seen some excellent AMVs for Madoka in the past, but this one is phenomenal. Never thought I'd see the day a song would match Homura/Madoka so perfectly in the finale and into Rebellion. Bravo. Just bravo.

I agree. Seeing this fits the theory of each girl being a stage of grief. Homura, being the stage of denial, this amv shows how she refuses to believe she cannot save Madoka.

+Erica Mills Of course! The theory is that each Magical Girl's personalities are based upon the five stages of grief. Homura, being denial; Kyoko being anger; Mami being bargaining; Sayaka being depression; Madoka being acceptance. Each of their experiences and actions could be seen as linked to this, but this is a theory.
She never got her wish granted, yeah she went back and time and kept repeating meeting madoka again but she never got to save her cause madoka (in homura's eyes) becoming a god was a fate worse then death and didn't save her.
I wasn't familiar with this song before watching this video, but it captures Homura so well. Great scene selection and timing throughout. Fantastic job.

This song I have never heard before but it hit me hard. I lost my little sister on my birthday, august 2nd of 2020.. and this made me think of her. My thoughts revolving around her since her passing. But you made a beautiful AMV, I loved watching it.
My condolences. I'm glad you found some solace in this video:) grieving can be difficult and frustrating and intense. In fact, I started making this video shortly after my father died, and while the context is very different of course, it really helped me channel my own grief at the time somehow.
I found this amv by accident lol. Actually reminds me time I was rejected never got talk said person. That year I saw god not NDE or hallucinating I'm drug free. I'm religious mostly lean jehova witness we belive in future kingdom of god will come and father will resurrect everyone. If your interest look up too us. We dont participate in wars or affiliate with any nation. We are fully against false preachers dont ask donations. last week i found by far the best fate stay amv and now i believe ive found the all time best madoka amv the only one close to this is devils game amv.

Thanks haha. I'm a little sad about that too sometimes. I see people I subscribed to, who also make amvs, get 100.000 views in a few months while mine generally are stuck between 150-2000 views. Though I'm really happy this one got a lot of peoples attention!
